After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 91: Chapter 91: I Misunderstood Sebastian Lancaster

The man was still wailing on the floor, acting as if he wouldn’t stop until he had scammed Sebastian Lancaster out of a thousand bucks.

The young girl sitting next to me took out her phone and started recording. She leaned in and whispered, ”Miss, is that your boyfriend? He’s so cool.”

I looked up at Sebastian Lancaster, who was standing off to the side, his expression cold as he stared at the man.

’I bet...’ I thought, ’...he’s already plotting how to tear this guy limb from limb, how to rid the world of this nuisance.’

Taking a deep breath, I gave a perfunctory laugh. ”Ha, that’s just his personality.”

”I’m telling you, this isn’t over until you pay up! How dare you hit someone in broad daylight! Are you in this together with this tramp? I can tell neither of you are decent people.” After wailing for a bit and seeing no one was paying him any mind, the man started attacking the young girl next to me.

The girl was actually dressed perfectly normally in a floral slip dress that nicely accentuated her figure. She looked bright and youthful.

It was a perfectly lovely sight, but the man’s words had to make it sound vulgar.

The young girl was so angry she was on the verge of tears. ”You’re the tramp!”

Sebastian Lancaster kept his eyes fixed on the man, his gaze chilling me to the bone.

’I bet if that guy knew Sebastian Lancaster was mentally ill, he’d be so scared his legs would turn to jelly.’

The man was indeed scared. He timidly scooted away from Sebastian Lancaster on the floor. ”What are you looking at?”

He didn’t dare provoke Sebastian Lancaster, who was tall and imposing, but he was perfectly willing to assert his dominance over women, turning his aggression on me.

I sighed and grabbed the corner of Sebastian Lancaster’s shirt. I wasn’t afraid of the man trying to scam me; I was afraid of Sebastian losing control.

’We can’t understand the world of the mentally ill; they act too much on impulse.’

”I’m telling you, you have to pay up, or this isn’t over!” the man was still howling.

”He’s trying to pin this on you. I saw him call the police. When they get here, I’ll be your witness,” the young girl said earnestly, not wanting the man to successfully scam Sebastian Lancaster.

I didn’t say anything, just kept a tight grip on Sebastian Lancaster.

”A bunch of delinquents. You’re all just a couple of whores, aren’t you?” The man’s mouth was relentlessly vicious.

THUMP! With one swift move, Sebastian Lancaster kicked the man, sending him flying into the subway door.

A clear shoeprint was stamped on the man’s already greasy face, and blood began to trickle slowly from his nose.

”He’s hitting me! Ah! He’s hitting me!” the man started to cry out, trying to draw more attention.

Sebastian Lancaster walked over, grabbed him by the collar, and punched him in the eye.

He was tall and his face was devoid of expression. He crouched there, as focused as a big dog playing with an interesting new toy.

He held the man’s collar and effortlessly landed another punch. Both of the man’s eyes were now swollen.

The man cried and struggled, looking at Sebastian Lancaster in terror. He was a middle-aged man and not weak by any means, but against Sebastian, he was completely powerless, unable to break free from his grip.

This lean, tall man was terrifyingly strong.

”Asher...” I stood up nervously, wanting to stop him.

But the young girl beside me covered her mouth in awe. ”Oh my god, he’s so crazy. I love it.”

”...” I have no idea what kind of taste young girls have these days.

Sebastian Lancaster turned back and glanced at me.

The man seized the opportunity to launch a sneak attack on Sebastian Lancaster.

I instinctively moved to help, but the man’s fist never landed on Sebastian’s head. Instead, Sebastian raised a hand and caught it.

’He really is... so crazy.’

Then, in front of everyone, he gripped the man’s wrist and applied a little pressure.

There was a sharp CRACK, followed by a heart-wrenching scream.

The man’s phone fell out of his pocket as he writhed on the floor in agony.

I looked up at the ceiling and slapped my forehead. ’It’s over...’

We’re in deep trouble.

”I declare, I’m done stanning idols. I’m going to stan him! He’s so handsome!” The young girl excitedly filmed Sebastian Lancaster, thrilled beyond belief.

I glanced around. There were too many onlookers, too many people filming.

’We’re screwed...’

”Asher, you went too far.” I was a little angry now. I walked up and grabbed Sebastian Lancaster. ”This is a public place! He was just taking up seats. Did you really need to be so brutal?”

I suddenly remembered the day I was reborn into Cecilia Caldwell’s body. He was ready to strangle me just because he couldn’t find a bracelet.

’This man... really is mentally ill, and he can easily lose control and hurt people.’

”Apologize to this gentleman!” I was afraid Sebastian Lancaster would get into serious trouble and be forcibly committed to a mental hospital, so my only option was to make him apologize first.

Sebastian Lancaster looked down, seemingly wronged, picked up the man’s phone, and said nothing.

”Why are you taking his phone? Give it back to him!” ’I have no idea what goes on in his head from one day to the next.’

’Dealing with a mentally ill person... really is enough to drive a sane person crazy, isn’t it?’

”Sir, I’ll take you to the hospital at the next stop.” I tried to placate the man first.

But the man, clutching his wrist in pain, had stopped shouting. He didn’t even dare to ask for his phone back.

I sighed. It looked like a trip to the police station was unavoidable this time.

”Miss, don’t be so hard on him! He didn’t do anything wrong. That man verbally harassed us first. He was just being a hero,” the young girl said, earnestly defending Sebastian Lancaster.

”He’s...” I wanted to say he was mentally ill, but saying it in public would hurt his pride, so I changed my tune. ”That’s still no reason to be so ruthless.”

Asher remained silent, offering no explanation.

The train pulled into the station, and the police boarded.

”No... I’m not pressing charges! Just give me my phone and let me go...” The man was sweating from the pain. He suddenly declared he wasn’t pressing charges and just wanted his phone so he could run.

I looked at the man suspiciously, then glanced at Sebastian Lancaster, who was standing beside me, still looking aggrieved.

Sebastian Lancaster didn’t return the phone to the man. Instead, he handed it to the police. ”He was taking secret photos.”

The officer paused for a moment, then told the man to unlock his phone.

The man refused.

It was only then that I understood. Why he was occupying three seats by himself, why he was staring at the young girl in the slip dress.

He was taking upskirt photos of the girl! He had taken up three seats to make sure no one next to him would notice!

The police forced the man to unlock the phone. When they opened the photo album, there were over a thousand photos—all of them intimate pictures of women he had secretly taken on the subway. Upskirt shots, photos of their chests...

The girl in the slip dress took one look, let out a horrified shriek, and clutched her skirt while kicking the man. ”Officer, he’s a pervert! I want to press charges!”

I stared blankly at Sebastian Lancaster, a sudden wave of guilt washing over me.

I had completely misunderstood him.

Sebastian Lancaster said nothing, keeping his head bowed the entire time.

We all ended up at the police station anyway. The young girl talked to Sebastian Lancaster admiringly the whole way, but he never responded.

She was tireless, chattering away at his side.

”I admit to taking the photos. That was my fault. But he assaulted me, and I’m pressing charges. He broke my wrist.” Once at the station, the man grew bold again. Since he was already guilty of taking the photos and couldn’t escape that, he wasn’t going to let Sebastian Lancaster off the hook.

”My husband was acting as a good Samaritan, stopping a crime in progress. Besides, this man provoked him first and was in the wrong to begin with.” I stood in front of Sebastian Lancaster, defending him.

The despondent look in Sebastian Lancaster’s eyes brightened for a moment, and he stared at me.

He seemed happy that I had stepped up to defend him.

”I’m Sebastian Lancaster’s assistant.” Assistant Foster had arrived, bringing Meridia’s best lawyer with him. He was here to bail someone out again.

I breathed a sigh of relief. Now that they were here, Sebastian Lancaster would definitely be fine.

Who would have thought, the assistant simply took out a small red booklet and handed it to the police.

The perverted man, who had been causing a ruckus, fell silent. His eyes then filled with terror.

It was Sebastian Lancaster’s Certificate of Mental Disability...
