After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Sebastian Lancaster Has Arrived

The Wavecrest Hotel.

The moment I walked into the hotel lobby, I saw Noelle Lynch and that scumbag Ken Abbott getting all lovey-dovey with each other.

I rolled my eyes. ’A scumbag and a bitch—truly a match made in heaven.’

”Hey, Silvia Lynch, you’re here!” a classmate greeted me warmly, walking over. ”We heard you got married. Where’s your husband? Why didn’t you bring him along?”

I didn’t say a word and walked over to sit in the lounge area. ”Is everyone not here yet?”

”Silvia Lynch, I heard you married into a rich family, into the Lancaster Family. We all agreed to bring our spouses today. So... does Mr. Lancaster not like you, or is he just not presentable enough?” the same classmate taunted me deliberately.

I thought these people were so pathetic. In my past life, they were always bullying and hurting me at school. If I had to live through this all again and still endure the same humiliation without fighting back, then all the suffering I endured before I died would have been deserved.

They say a person’s character is hard to change, but after going through such a massive ordeal, I should have had a complete awakening long ago.

Humans are creatures that bully the weak, fear the strong, and worship power.

They think I’m easy to bully. One compromise from me won’t stop them; it will only make them push things even further.

”You’ve got a lot of free time on your hands. Why would I bring my husband here for your viewing pleasure? He’s very busy. This is our class reunion. What are you fixated on my husband for? You want to be his mistress? Sure, go ahead. The Lancaster Family has plenty of money. They can afford to support another person. The only question is if you have any morals or self-respect left.”

I said this calmly, leaning back on the sofa and looking at her.

My words completely stunned her. She was in shock for a long time, clearly in a state of disbelief.

She opened and closed her mouth, swallowing the retorts she wanted to throw at me several times. It took her a while to finally speak. ”Silvia Lynch... do you really think you’re so special just because you married into the Lancaster Family? You think we don’t know what’s really going on with them?”

”Exactly. Look at her acting so arrogant now. Hah, who doesn’t know you were just a baby machine bought by the Lancaster Family?” another classmate sneered.

I put on a shocked expression. ”A baby machine? Your mother went through so much to give birth to you, and you’re calling her your family’s baby machine? That’s so unfilial. Aren’t you afraid of getting struck by lightning the next time you go outside?”

That classmate was also stunned, pointing at me for a long time, speechless.

Nearby, Noelle Lynch, who had been leaning in Ken Abbott’s arms just watching the show, frowned. She whispered to him, ”Don’t you think... she seems a little different?”

It seemed everyone could see that I wasn’t the same person I used to be.

”Hmph, she just married into the Lancaster Family, so now she thinks she has some backbone,” Ken Abbott said snidely.

”The teacher’s here.”

In the private room, the teacher’s health was clearly failing. She sat in a wheelchair, her face pale.

Her smile was still kind. My sixth sense is usually spot-on, and I could tell this teacher was a good person.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is that good people don’t live long; instead, they are tormented by illness.

Likely due to late-stage cancer, her entire body looked somewhat swollen.

”I really didn’t expect... so many of you could make it. I’m old... my body is failing me, and I wanted to see you all again before I go. Out of all the classes I’ve taught, there aren’t many left... that I can see all together like this.” The teacher smiled and gestured for everyone to sit. ”I organized this reunion not just because my health is poor and I wanted to see you, but also because I heard a serial killer has been murdering many students from our school recently.”

The teacher coughed, getting a little emotional. ”A few of them were students I taught. I never thought something like this would happen...”

”Teacher, you’ll definitely get better,” the class monitor who organized the reunion quickly said.

”And that killer will definitely be caught! I have a friend on the criminal investigation team. I heard all the victims were children adopted from the Twin Star Orphanage. I wanted to take this chance to remind everyone, if any of you are also from the orphanage, you need to be careful,” a male classmate stepped forward to say.

”This is clearly a revenge killing,” someone else said, horrified.

”Huh? Monitor, aren’t you from the Twin Star Orphanage?” a girl asked, looking at the class monitor.

I looked over as well. The monitor was tall and seemed shy. Based on his appearance, he looked like a good person.

His expression changed, and he stammered subconsciously, ”Ah, it’s been so many years since I left. My adoptive parents adopted me a long time ago. I don’t know anything... about a murder case.”

I looked at the class monitor suspiciously. In the group chat, I think his name was Howard Finch. ’Maybe he knows something,’ I thought.

”Alright, alright, I’m very happy you could all come. Since you’re all here, you must all be careful from now on. Protecting yourselves is what’s most important.” The teacher nodded with a hint of sadness. ”I just want to watch you all start your own families, build your careers, and live happily.”

”Teacher, Silvia Lynch is being a bit disrespectful to you. She’s clearly married, but she won’t even bring her husband out,” the girl I’d shut down earlier said spitefully.

I walked over and said respectfully, ”Teacher, I’m very sorry. My husband isn’t in the best of health. An occasion like this isn’t really suitable for him...”

”He’s just a fool. What do you mean, ’not in the best of health’?” the girl said, rolling her eyes.

”Jessica Mason, that’s enough,” Howard Finch said, trying to be fair. After all, this was a reunion to see their teacher.

”We’ve heard about it too. Silvia Lynch married a fool for money. That fool doesn’t treat her well, and I heard he has violent tendencies. A murderer, even,” another classmate muttered, deliberately loud enough for everyone to hear.

I watched the two of them go back and forth, then glanced at Noelle Lynch and raised an eyebrow. ”The Lancaster Family is a prestigious and powerful family in Meridia. For you to slander them like this...”

”Alright now. Silvia is a good child. She will definitely find a good husband who cherishes her.” The teacher gave me a kind smile and gestured for me to come closer.

”Silvia, you’ve changed so much. Finally... finally, you’ve become stronger and braver,” the teacher said, her eyes turning red as she patted the back of my hand.

I nodded. ”Teacher, I will protect myself. You don’t have to worry.”

The teacher nodded in relief. ”That’s good. That’s good.”

”Seeing you all doing so well, I can rest easy.”

”Teacher, this is my boyfriend, Ken Abbott. Even though you never taught him, I’m sure you know who he is,” Noelle Lynch said, proudly introducing Ken Abbott.

Ken Abbott was, after all, the top student in Silvia Lynch’s entire high school. While he wasn’t the provincial top scholar, he was definitely an exceptionally bright student.

All the teachers had heard of Ken Abbott and called him a genius.

”I know, I know. The boy who came in first every year.” The teacher nodded with a smile, her memory of good students still fresh.

”They’re sisters, so how come Noelle Lynch found the top student in the grade while Silvia Lynch found a fool? Haha...” I listened to their mockery without saying a word.

”She’s an idiot who didn’t even get into college. Isn’t finding a fool a perfect match?”

”Although my husband couldn’t be here, I’d still like to introduce him. His name is Sebastian Lancaster. He was first in Meridia’s ’Ascension’ genius program, was fast-tracked through his entire education, and is an absolute prodigy who graduated from university in his teens.” I wasn’t going to hide it; Sebastian Lancaster was truly brilliant before his breakdown.

Howard Finch froze for a moment and looked up at me, a flash of terror in his eyes.

Even though he hid it well, I still caught something in his gaze.

’He must know Asher.’

The teacher was surprised. ”A genius from the genius program! Very, very few people in our Meridia can get into that program.”

”I remember now! The Twin Star Orphanage in Meridia was named that because it produced two geniuses! Both of them got into the genius program, which made the orphanage famous. That’s why so many wealthy people started coming to adopt children from there,” someone remarked with emotion.

It was true. The appearance of two absolute geniuses from one orphanage had turned its abandoned children into ’hot commodities’ for the rich, who were chasing prestige.

Those wealthy people naturally understood the value of a genius.

I kept my eyes on Howard Finch. Now I was even more certain that he definitely knew something...

Seeing that I had stolen her thunder, Noelle Lynch quickly forced a smile and said, ”My brother-in-law is that amazing? Then how did he suddenly become a fool? And I heard he has violent tendencies?”

”A fool? Not at all. He’s just a bit simple, unlike the person someone else chose. All that talk about being first in the grade, but what a pity he’s a total scumbag.” I crossed my arms, looking at Noelle Lynch with a challenging gaze. ”I still have the photos and videos from when I caught you two cheating. Should I play them for everyone?”

Noelle Lynch’s face changed, and her whole body trembled with rage.

Ken Abbott was even angrier. He completely lost his composure, pointing at me and cursing, ”Silvia Lynch, don’t you get too arrogant! Do you really think you can do whatever you want just because you married a psycho?”

”A psycho isn’t legally responsible for murder.” At the doorway, leaning against the frame, was Sebastian Lancaster, who had appeared at some unknown time. His voice was lazy, yet tinged with a hint of madness.
