Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

Now that Wu Muling has made such a mess, it’s nearly impossible to resist the Song Army on this flat terrain. After all, Loulan’s army has lost its morale, and Wu Muling’s troops have been ambushed, scrambling to escape in disarray, making whether they will even follow his orders questionable.

Upon hearing Yue Yuxi’s words, Wu Muling nodded desperately, indicating that he would follow her instructions.

The two led their troops respectively, breaking through on both sides. Zhang Lie and others saw this and wanted to split their forces to pursue both, but their manpower was insufficient. If they split and the opponents put up a fierce resistance, they might suffer losses. So, they chased after the ambushed troops of Wu Muling.

When Chen Mo arrived, he was a bit perplexed. Which of the two enemy paths should he pursue?

The most crucial point was that he only had five thousand cavalry with him, and the infantry was still more than thirty miles away.

However, the saying goes, ”Capture the ringleader first to capture the gang.” Chen Mo immediately activated the Ancient Heavy Pupils to find the Queen of Loulan.

Soon, he saw the woman in the carriage at the front of the right-wing enemy troops. His eyes lit up as he shouted, ”The one in red is the Queen of the Desolate Kingdom!”

”Princess, you cover the flanks. I’ll pursue her; we absolutely cannot let her escape.”

Chen Mo turned to Zhao Qianyi and said this, then slapped his horse’s backside with the sword sheath, leading the Fire Qilin Army in pursuit.

Zhao Qianyi called her men to follow.

As they neared Yue Yuxi’s personal guard, Zhao Qianyi and the others held off the attacking enemy forces on both sides, covering Chen Mo as he charged in with his men.

Although this was Yue Yuxi’s personal guard, whose primary duty should have been to ensure her safety, in this situation, saving their own lives became the most important thing.

Thus, when they saw the Song Army charging, only a few blocked the attack, while most continued to flee.

In addition to the formation being incomplete, Chen Mo was the first to charge, sweeping his sword and unleashing a torrent of Sword Qi, which slaughtered all the blockers.

”Protect the King!”

The commander of the personal guard shouted angrily, leading the few he could command to stop Chen Mo with their flesh, despite the impact of thousands of people. Even Chen Mo did not dare to be careless and raised his spirit to deal with it.

”Nine Heavens Profound Temple, transform into Divine Thunder, majestic heavenly might, aid me in battle!

Duke of Thunder, assist me!”

Chen Mo formed a seal with one hand and chanted incantations. As his words fell, a rumbling explosion was heard, and a twenty-centimeter thick Silver Thunder struck fiercely in front of him, like divine punishment, killing many.

This was the Thunder Skill from the Thunder Jade Scripture, requiring a large amount of True Qi each time it was used.

At Chen Mo’s current realm, not only had the power of the Thunder Skill greatly increased, but the True Qi consumption had also risen.

After all, the strength of the power was directly proportional to True Qi consumption.

Chen Mo could not unleash it indefinitely, but under the current circumstances, not using it would really let Yue Yuxi escape.

If she were to escape, the Desolate Kingdom would surely return, and the Great Song did not have the time or energy to deal with another invasion by the Desolate Kingdom.

Lightning has always been a power granted only by the heavens. Although martial artists can cultivate it, it is fraught with taboos and limited in power. Moreover, very few at the ground level have seen martial artists summoning lightning in battle, let alone Lightning as powerful as this.

The enemy was instantly terrified.

Some did not see Chen Mo use the Thunder Skill but saw Silver Thunder descend from the heavens, immediately believing that the Duke of Thunder had manifested to deliver divine punishment. They threw down their weapons and surrendered.

Seeing its effect, Chen Mo used it once more, consuming most of his True Qi.

But it also opened a path for him.

Chen Mo pursued on a solitary horse.

”Cover me,” Zhao Qianyi shouted after dodging a spear, abandoning the entangling enemies, and followed quickly, shouting,

”Capture the Queen of Loulan alive!”

”Capture the Queen of Loulan alive!” The Song Army echoed, each looking extremely excited.

Capturing the queen of a hostile nation alive would surely be a great merit.

A rise to high rank and a noble position would be within reach.

Upon hearing Zhao Qianyi’s shout from afar, Yue Yuxi’s face darkened. Initially, she wanted to capture Zhao Qianyi alive, but now the tables had turned; it was Zhao Qianyi’s turn to capture her alive.

Yue Yuxi abandoned her chariot, leaping onto a lion. Using True Qi, she snapped the harness connecting the lion to the chariot. The lion roared and charged forward.

The fleeing Loulan soldiers ahead saw the lion break free, with its bloody mouth wide open, and scattered in terror, making way.

Perhaps there was some bloodline suppression; Chen Mo’s warhorse slowed upon seeing the mighty lion.

Chen Mo could only tear off part of his battle robe to blindfold his horse and then use the reins to steer.

The warhorse’s speed was no match for the lion’s, and constant enemy interference hampered him further.

Chen Mo had to abandon his horse, leaping and kicking a Desolate Kingdom general from his horse, seizing his mount. Then, using Shifting Form and Position, he kicked another Desolate Kingdom rider off, inching closer to Yue Yuxi.

”Wu Liang, stop him.” Sensing Chen Mo’s approach, Yue Yuxi’s face changed dramatically, trying to have the unscrupulous Daoist intercept him.

But with a quick glance around, the unscrupulous Daoist was already gone, having slipped ahead of her.

First Grade Martial Artists are very cautious of their lives.

Even combined with Yue Yuxi, they couldn’t handle Chen Mo. Now Yue Yuxi wanted him to stop Chen Mo alone? That was a joke; he wasn’t foolish.

Better his fellow suffer than himself.

He wasn’t a Death Warrior cultivated by Yue Yuxi.

”Damn it.” Yue Yuxi’s face grew icy, her eyes filled with cold intent.

”Your Majesty the Queen, I told you we’d meet again.”

Chen Mo leaped once more. Although Innate Martial Artists can fly, they cannot fly indefinitely, nor are they particularly fast, needing leverage mid-air.

With a tap on an enemy soldier’s head, as he rose, the soldier’s head burst open. As he closed the distance, Chen Mo reached for Yue Yuxi with one hand, with Tianwen, his sword, strapped to his back.

”Roar!”

The lion turned and opened its huge mouth, lunging at Chen Mo.

Startled, Chen Mo saw that this lion was more than ten feet long, much larger than a typical lion, certainly no ordinary lion. Flipping twice in mid-air, his hand meant for Yue Yuxi landed instead on the lion’s neck fur. He then thrust Tianwen, from his back towards Yue Yuxi.

Yue Yuxi’s expression shifted; she turned to evade, and the downward thrust of Tianwen pierced through the lion’s back, embedding deep into its body.

Thud!

Tianwen pierced through entirely, blood gushing out. The beast’s tragic roar echoed across the earth, resonating eardrums with its volume.

When Chen Mo attempted to pull Tianwen out, Yue Yuxi leapt to attack him.

As he dodged, he kicked the lion’s head.

”Bang!”

The lion’s head exploded, sprawling diagonally in the snow.
