Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

The ground trembled, and the cries were thunderous.

The Dragon Oath Guard was Loulan’s strongest cavalry, and it would not be an exaggeration to say they were the strongest of their generation. In just a moment, taking advantage of the time when the Red Barbarians’ Cannons were still being reloaded, they were less than five hundred paces from the Song Army.

But no matter how strong they were, they still had flesh and blood. Facing hot weapons, they had to suffer losses.

With several cannon blasts echoing, shells exploded under the Dragon Oath Guard’s iron hooves. In the fierce collision, men and horses were overturned, and blood and flesh flew everywhere.

The Dragon Oath Guard lived up to their reputation as the strongest cavalry. They were not fazed by changes, and took advantage of the gap while the cannons were reloaded, charging into the Song Army.

As the strongest cavalry, the Dragon Oath Guard had immense impact. Advancing from both sides in a semicircular arc formation, not even Li Weiqiu setting up a formation to resist could withstand them.

In just a moment, the ground was littered with corpses, chaos reigned everywhere.

The front-line Song soldiers knew they were doomed, yet they did not take a step back, using their flesh and blood to win time and space for their brothers to retreat.

The Song Army retreated step by step.

Zhao Qianyi watched anxiously, ”This was also in your plan.”

”Of course.” Chen Mo’s face remained calm.

Other than him, no one knew that after two rounds from the Red Barbarians’ Cannons, Gao Zheng had ordered their withdrawal.

In front, hot blood from the Song soldiers poured out from their chests, soaking into the snow underfoot.

Loulan was not limited to the Dragon Oath Guard alone in terms of cavalry, but the sheer might of the Dragon Oath Guard overshadowed Loulan’s other cavalry units.

Commanders of two other Loulan cavalry units, seeing that the Dragon Oath Guard had already charged into the Song Army, consulted with Yue Yuxi on the city wall. Then, riding their horses and brandishing their swords, they charged at the Song Army.

These two cavalry units, having not been formed under as stringent requirements as the Dragon Oath Guard, had numbers far surpassing the Dragon Oath Guard, each twice the size.

The scene was one of smoke and dust, heaven and earth lost color with the fierce collision, Song soldiers were directly knocked ten feet away.

Faced with so many cavalry, the Song Army, being infantry, was no match.

Thus a one-sided massacre ensued.

Countless Song soldiers died beneath the enemy’s iron hooves.

”General Li, retreat. This is a plain; we cannot rely on terrain to resist.” Chu Ang shouted to Li Weiqiu while fighting fiercely.

But at this moment, a messenger arrived, telling Li Weiqiu to act according to plan.

”Plan?” Chu Ang’s face changed.

By now, Li Weiqiu no longer kept it from him.

Li Weiqiu said solemnly, ”We are just bait.”

”Bait?!”

Hearing these words, Chu Ang’s head buzzed: ”Using everyone’s lives as bait?”

Li Weiqiu shook his head: ”Not everyone, only two hundred thousand, the army led by Xishan is not here, nor is the Lord’s Fire Qilin Army.”

Only two hundred thousand?

Saying it so lightly.

Using two hundred thousand as bait, what kind of big fish are they trying to catch?

”Be more careful.” Li Weiqiu warned Chu Ang.

While the Loulan Army was slaughtering within the Song Army’s ranks, sudden explosions erupted, fiery shock waves swept all around, men and horses were overturned, and wailing continued to ring out.

”Bang bang bang!”

The Fire Bottle Bombs exploded one after another on the battlefield.

The continuous violent explosions, raising dust clouds, scared all of Loulan’s warhorses.

Previously, the Red Barbarians’ Cannons did not fire consecutively and had long intervals, not so densely. The shock experienced by the horses could still be controlled by the Loulan Army.

But now, with such dense explosions, one after another, the horses were too frightened and could no longer be controlled by the Loulan Army, immediately running wildly on the battlefield.

The situation, originally one-sided, suddenly turned chaotic like a pot of porridge.

The frightened horses did not distinguish between friend and foe, and in their fierce collisions, men and horses were overturned. If by chance someone fell and happened to roll under the horse’s hooves, they would be trampled to death by the warhorses.

The previously dominant Loulan Army immediately became anxious.

Because the disparity in combat strength had been neutralized, with the forces now roughly equal, who would win or lose was truly uncertain.

Yue Yuxi on the city wall saw this scene and her face immediately changed.

What was this?

Since when did the Song Army have these things?

And such close-range explosions, didn’t the Song Army fear harming themselves?

To kill a thousand enemies, at the cost of eight hundred?

”But if you want to fight man-on-man, you might have made the wrong move.

Send someone.” Yue Yuxi commanded.

A man came before Yue Yuxi, knelt on one knee.

”Pass the order, let Barbaro go to battle!” Yue Yuxi said.

”Yes.”

On Sa City’s wall, the loud beating of drums sounded, inspiring battle readiness among the troops.

The next second, from the forest on the left, a horn sounded the charge.

”Charge!”

”Kill!”

A massive wave of soldiers poured out from the forest, heading toward the chaotic battlefield.

”Finally willing to come out.” Chen Mo, like a gambler with red eyes, seeing the large Loulan forces pouring out from the forest, his face was filled with excitement.

”Send someone, pass the order, let Weiqiu and the others retreat, and let Xishan and Gao Zheng get ready to receive the guests.” Chen Mo told his personal soldiers.

”Yes.”

Watching the back of the soldier riding away, Zhao Qianyi was stunned, then somewhat horrified, ”You knew all along there were people in the forest? So you used so many lives just to lure them out?”

Chen Mo nodded and said, ”To achieve victory, sacrifices must be made. Without sacrificing children, you cannot catch the wolf. As long as we annihilate the main force of the Desolate Kingdom, the Desolate Kingdom will surely be defeated.”

...

”Dong dong...”

The crisp sound of gongs rang out, the Song Army, hearing this familiar sound, disengaged and quickly retreated.

”The Song Army is escaping...”

Seeing the Song Army trying to flee, a single thought crossed the minds of all Loulan soldiers: ”Pursue.”

At this point, the battle was at its most intense, both sides in a frenzy, seeing the Song Army attempting to escape, and with a huge force of reinforcements behind, any sane person would choose to pursue.

The Song Army retreated ten miles, almost fighting as they withdrew, until they fell into the trap Chen Mo had long set up.

Chen Mo let the Dragon Oath Guard and the two Desolate Kingdom cavalry units without horses go first, and when the main force of Desolate Kingdom infantry arrived, he waved his arm, ”Open fire!”

With his words, the artillery hidden on both sides of the valley immediately ignited their fuses.

”Boom!”

Four long tongues of fire shot out from both sides of the valley, fiercely smashing into the Desolate Kingdom’s army, then exploded with a bang, sending blood and flesh flying.

”Fire!”

Already positioned on the valley’s left side, Dai Xishan shouted fiercely, showering Fire Bottle Bombs and High-Explosive Bombs without reserve.

Boom!

Boom boom!

Boom boom boom!

A series of violent explosions erupted under their feet, causing numerous unprepared Loulan soldiers to die on the spot. Some were so far away that their heads buzzed, momentarily lost with no sense of direction.

The deafening explosions made them think it was divine punishment bestowed from above, instantly throwing the army into chaos and severely lowering morale.
