Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

Boom!

Boom boom boom!!!

Smoke filled the valley, and the cries of despair rose and fell.

Loulan’s infantry, were merely Postnatal Martial Artists, couldn’t even withstand slightly strong arrows, let alone Fire Bottle Bombs and High-Explosive Bombs as thermal weapons.

As per Chen Mo’s instructions, there was no need to hold back the Fire Bottle Bombs and High-Explosive Bombs they were carrying; just throw them down directly.

So Dai Xishan and his men didn’t hold anything back at all, and bombed the enemy into fleeing in disarray.

”They’re trying to rush up, quick, release the arrows.”

Seeing that there were enemy forces trying to climb up the steep slopes of the valley, Dai Xishan immediately ordered to shoot arrows.

”Whoosh!”

”Whoosh!”

”Thump... Ah...”

Countless enemy soldiers were shot dead by arrows.

Fire Bottle Bombs, High-Explosive Bombs, and even arrows, were all limited. After throwing them, Dai Xishan drew out the longsword from his waist and shouted angrily, ”Brothers, charge with me!”

His voice was like thunder, suppressing the clamor of ten thousand troops, reaching everyone’s ears.

Immediately afterward, a wave-like roar rose from both sides of the valley.

”Kill—”

”Kill—”

Like a tidal wave, the ambushed Song Army on both sides of the valley surged down mightily, accompanied by the smoke. The Loulan army, already confused, almost saw them as Celestial Soldiers descending, in a daze, they couldn’t even clearly see how many there were.

In almost an instant, they charged right in front of them, and inside the valley, only screams and shouts of killing were left.

On the other side, Ling Zhi, leading the Dragon Oath Guard and tens of thousands of cavalry without warhorses, was in close pursuit of the defeated Song Army. But soon, upon hearing the deafening explosions from behind, his face changed drastically, as a veteran of many battles, he immediately guessed that something unfortunate had happened.

Indeed, Ling Zhi quickly saw on the distant horizon, the Song Army cavalry forming a crescent shape, looking at them menacingly.

And the Song Army they were pursuing, all turned their spearheads around.

Li Weiqiu, filled with rage from being pursued, turned around and killed a Dragon Oath Guard behind him with one spear, with blood splattering on his face, further fueling his murderous intent, he shouted angrily:

”Brothers, let’s show these bastards what chasing us leads to, and slaughter them for me.”

”Kill!”

”Kill!!!”

Tens of thousands of Song Army soldiers responded in unison, even the color of heaven and earth changed.

As they turned around to fight, they made way in the middle.

A figure appeared in Ling Zhi’s vision.

That face, Ling Zhi was extremely familiar with, it was Chen Mo.

He was seen riding a warhorse, drawing the Heaven Inquiry from his waist, and pointing it directly at them, shouting loudly, ”Kill!”

The group Chen Mo brought was the last cavalry remaining of the Song Army. For attacking an enemy who hadn’t formed a formation in pursuit, even with only five thousand men, Chen Mo was confident to disperse the enemy, let alone in a situation like this, where chaos prevailed, describing it as a pig slaughtering wasn’t an exaggeration.

The cavalry charged into the enemy forces, borrowing the momentum of tens of thousands of Song Army soldiers turning around their spearheads, they pushed through like a hot knife through butter.

Holding the Heaven Inquiry like a God of Slaughter from the inferno, Chen Mo unleashed a Sword Qi, leaving broken limbs all over the place, not a single whole corpse, almost carving a bloody path through the enemy straight towards Ling Zhi.

”Die.”

Chen Mo leaped from the horseback, and the few military generals around Ling Zhi who tried to resist him were diced apart on the spot, he arrived in front of Ling Zhi like a storm, striking down from above with his sword.

Ling Zhi raised his spear to block, amidst the sparks flying, the spear withstood for a moment, but was cut off by Chen Mo’s Heaven Inquiry.

Ling Zhi hastily abandoned his spear to dodge, as the Sword Stance descended, the warhorse beneath him was split in half.

He rolled on the ground several times, yet to stand up stably, Chen Mo landed and kicked him in the chest, dragging him on the ground for several zhangs.

”Thump...” The great force directly made Ling Zhi spit blood, just as he was about to get up, Chen Mo flashed in front of him, chopping off his head with one sword strike.

Not far away, Zhao Qianyi’s face was full of shock; Loulan’s famous Great General, First Grade Martial Artist Ling Zhi, was beheaded by Chen Mo within just a few rounds, what an incredibly formidable combat power this was.

Chen Mo picked up the head on the ground, raised it high, and shouted angrily:

”Your Main General is dead, why haven’t you surrendered quickly!”

The enemy army looked towards the sound, and when they saw Ling Zhi’s head, their faces changed one by one.

”It’s General Ling’s head.”

”General Ling was killed by the enemy’s commander.”

”Flee quickly!”

With Ling Zhi dead, except for some resistance organized by his Personal Guard, the rest of the Loulan army all threw down their helmets and armor, fleeing in all directions.

While Chen Mo led the cavalry from front to back, killing through them, then charged once more from left to right, the entire enemy army completely lost their will to fight, running away with heads in their hands, not daring to resist.

Exploiting the weak with superior strength to annihilate, the Song Army needed no command, after breaking through the enemy’s formation, they began dividing the battlefield, gradually eliminating all resistance.

However, among tens of thousands of Loulan troops, some inevitably slipped through the net, fleeing towards Sa City.

Chen Mo didn’t intend to let them go, and pursued with his cavalry.

Thus, such a scene unfolded.

A cavalry unit of less than five thousand chased tens of thousands of Loulan troops, including the Loulan troops in the valley, probably still numbering fifty to sixty thousand.

But they didn’t dare to resist, submitting to Chen Mo’s slaughter.

...

On the city walls of Sa City, Yue Yuxi gazed intently towards the end of the plains in the distance, hoping for good news to return.

As the sky darkened, smoke rose in the city, large pots were set up to cook rice, waiting for the victorious return of the Loulan army.

Judging from the situation in the afternoon, Loulan’s victory was already a sure thing.

Thump thump thump...

The ground vibrated, the sound of hooves came from the horizon, Yue Yuxi saw the Loulan army, and with their victorious return, a smile appeared on her face, the Loulan defenders on the city walls also cheered loudly for them, and even beat the drums welcoming their triumphant return.

But soon, they sensed something was amiss.

As the Loulan army drew closer, the defenders on the city walls saw their formation scattered, their bodies ragged, running while throwing away their helmets and armor.

At this point, the Loulan defenders noticed a Song Army cavalry behind, chasing the Loulan army.

Everyone’s face changed drastically, Yue Yuxi trembled all over, her body swaying shakily, muttering: ”How could this happen, how could it...”

”My Lord, are you alright?” Moon Slave quickly stepped forward to support her.

As the Loulan army drew nearer to Sa City, the defenders on the city walls could hear their cries for help.

”Help, my Lord, save me...”

”Open the city gates quickly, the Song Army is chasing us.”

”We were ambushed by the Song Army.”

”...”

The Defender General on the city walls, hearing these words, turned pale with fear, cold sweat even seeped from his back, hurried to Yue Yuxi, and asked whether to open the gates.

After all, once the gates were opened, the pursuing Song cavalry would charge in as well.

Yue Yuxi did not answer but looked remotely at the figure on the distant warhorse, her face pale, her ten fingers clenched tightly together, her nails sinking into the flesh of her palms.
