Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

”We won, we won.”

”They couldn’t even get close to our walls; they were all driven back.”

”The general is truly a deity.”

”...”

The garrison on the walls watched as the enemy fled in disarray, not daring to look back, their hearts filled with immense excitement and increased respect for Chen Mo.

Even if a mountain collapsed in front of him, his expression remained unchanged, as if everything was within his grasp.

”Mighty general!”

”Mighty general!”

”Mighty general!”

Gao Zheng was the first to shout, leading the way, then all the soldiers joined in, their voices resounding to the heavens.

With such a leader, how could this battle not be victorious?

Their morale soared, and the worries they had due to the disparity in numbers significantly diminished.

Chen Mo’s expression remained steady, but seeing the alliance army flee in panic stirred a ripple deep within his heart, which he quickly buried.

”Xishan, go count the numbers and see if there are any casualties,” Chen Mo said.

Dai Xishan was about to move when Gao Zheng, somewhat excited, said, ”Sir, no need, I just counted, zero casualties.”

”What, zero casualties?” Upon hearing this, the generals were taken aback. They had been focused on the explosion and hadn’t noticed any casualties on their side.

Thinking about it now, since the enemy hadn’t even reached the walls, how could their side have any casualties?

The generals deeply admired Chen Mo.

In just a few days, the general led the army to two major victories, with few casualties and many kills. If it were them, they could boast about such a victory for a lifetime.

”Send out two battalions to clean up the battlefield,” Chen Mo said, looking at the battlefield below the city.

Cleaning up the battlefield after a battle is an essential task for soldiers throughout history.

Collecting the bodies of the enemy is a basic obligation of the victor and a rule that both sides of a conflict must follow.

The ultimate purpose of war is to compete for population and resources. If a plague occurs, population loss will be faster than that of war. At that time, the army will not be replenished, and logistical resources will not be supplied. Even if victorious, the goal of resource plundering will not be achieved.

Moreover, the water pollution caused by a plague results in a reduction in one’s own troops that far exceeds the losses from war.

Therefore, during the war, victors will bury or burn the bodies on the battlefield.

Qinyang County’s main gate has three heavy gates, located at the inner, middle, and outer sections.

The inner gate is iron, suspended by iron chains.

The middle gate is a heavy wooden gate that opens outward.

The outermost gate is a mechanism gate, impossible to force open and must be opened from the inside through a mechanism.

Once the three gates were opened and the drawbridge lowered, after the two battalions exited, the gates were closed again, and the drawbridge lifted.

Once the soldiers finished cleaning the battlefield, it would open again.

Feng Ji looked at the pits created by the High-Explosive Bombs, thinking that such power would be hard even for a Third Grade Martial Artist to resist, right?

He forced himself to regain composure from the shock, then fixed his gaze on Chen Mo’s face, and after a moment, said, ”General, what is that explosive iron ball just now?”

Chen Mo calmly replied, ”It’s an Earth Tier Treasure I found in a cave in Nanyang some time ago, called Fire Bottle Bomb and High-Explosive Bomb...”

When he used it, Chen Mo anticipated people would ask, so he concocted an excuse.

Upon hearing this, Feng Ji naturally did not believe it, but he couldn’t confirm that Chen Mo was lying either.

After all, if one doesn’t speak, there’s no way to find out.

After pondering, Feng Ji said, ”This thing is really powerful; if we had enough numbers, not to mention two million, even tens of millions, would only be sitting ducks, falling at a mere touch.”

”If only there were that many. Unfortunately, when found in the cave, there were only three to four hundred Fire Bottle Bombs, and just dozens of High-Explosive Bombs, which are almost used up now,” Chen Mo knew he was trying to probe him.

Upon hearing this, Feng Ji’s eyes narrowed slightly, then said, ”General, back when you found the cave, didn’t you discover how to make these two peculiar items?”

”If we could arm the entire army with these, then our Great Song’s Imperial Guard would be unstoppable, and the general could achieve unparalleled feats and be granted the title of Champion Marquis.”

Chen Mo shook his head, ”Back then, the cave was thoroughly searched, and besides those two items, nothing else was found.”

”That’s too bad.”

”Yes, very regrettable indeed.” Chen Mo patted Feng Ji’s shoulder and then said, ”Let’s not talk about this. We’ve finally won a great victory, how about Old General Feng have a drink with me?”

He then looked at Li Yang, ”Old General Li, would you join us?”

Li Yang shook his head, ”I have been abstaining from alcohol for a long time.”

”Abstaining?” Chen Mo slapped his forehead and then smiled at Feng Ji, ”Look at me, Old General Feng, almost forgot, I’m abstaining too, let’s go down and have a cup of tea instead.”

”Whatever works.” Feng Ji nodded.

Chen Mo added, ”Today’s battle report, I’ll have to trouble Old General Feng with it.”

Feng Ji: ”...”

...

In the alliance’s Central Army Tent.

”Report to the Alliance Leader, the casualty figures are out,” a soldier walked in and said.

”How many,” Zhao Jiang said with calm eyes.

”Cas... Casualties are nearly... nearly twenty thousand,” the soldier stammered.

”Bang.”

Just as the soldier finished speaking, Zhao Jiang slammed the table with his fist, instantly smashing the solid table.

All the lords in the tent fell silent.

The soldier who reported, his legs trembled in fear.

Despite having some expectations in his heart, hearing the casualty figures still caused Zhao Jiang’s expression to turn grim.

One must know, the soldiers just attacking the city were under his command.

Only his troops could coordinate so seamlessly and form the Turtle Profound Armor Array.

Now, without even touching the city walls, the losses were so great, how could the city still be attacked?

Nevertheless, Zhao Jiang did not lose composure; he was the Alliance Leader, and if he panicked because of the losses, the alliance would collapse.

”You may leave,” Zhao Jiang took a deep breath.

The reporting soldier didn’t want to linger, and upon hearing Zhao Jiang’s words, scurried out of the tent.

”Everyone, express your thoughts, where was this battle lost?” Zhao Jiang said.

”No need to say, it’s clearly that thing that created a flash of fire, the sound was extremely loud even from this distance,” Zhao Lu spoke.

”Exactly, without that thing, Chen Mo’s army wouldn’t have been able to break the alliance leader’s Turtle Profound Armor Array.”

”Indeed, indeed...”

The opinions of the lords were surprisingly unanimous, all believing it was the prior explosive that caused the siege to fail.

Without that strange thing breaching a gap, the Armor Shield couldn’t have been broken, and the rain of arrows wouldn’t have harmed the soldiers beneath the Armor Shield.
