Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

The lanterns were just being lit.

The grand hall of the second residence was brightly illuminated. Luo Zhen, Ye Wanqiu, Jiang Ruoqing, Xu Miaozhen, and Zhang Ru, among other women, were all gathered, listening to the instructions from their men above.

No one knew exactly how many troops the Eighteen Lords Army had, except for themselves.

But it was said to be two million strong, a terrifying force. After killing Hua Zhong and capturing Cold Water Pass, the interior was a vast plain with no defenses to speak of. Facing such an enormous army, the Defender Generals of the county town either fled or surrendered.

Therefore, with Zhao Jiang as the Alliance Leader, the Eighteen Lords Army, after entering the pass, advanced like it was uninhabited, seizing over a dozen cities a day, soon to threaten Nanyang County and the Capital.

Everyone in the Capital knew that Zhao Jiang could not be allowed to advance any further, or else the entire Capital would be captured.

So after Chen Mo organized his troops, every department fully mobilized and coordinated, providing Chen Mo’s army with the best supplies.

Facing these two million troops, Chen Mo was not overly confident, so he agreed when Jiang Ruoqing wanted to go along.

Otherwise, how could he allow his own woman to go to the battlefield?

Seeing Jiang Ruoqing going to the battlefield with Chen Mo, Ye Wanqiu, Luo Zhen, and the other women were somewhat envious, wishing they could go too.

But they didn’t. They understood the gravity of the situation and knew their low strength would only be a burden to Chen Mo if they went.

Ye Wanqiu mumbled, ”Husband... master, how long will you be gone this time?”

Having become Wanqiu, she adapted to local customs and called him master.

Luo Zhen, still used to calling him sir, instructed Chen Mo to take the developed Fire Bottle Bombs.

”Don’t worry, they have already been transported to the military.” When Chen Mo went to Haiqing Lake to get high heels, he had already dispatched someone to transport the developed Fire Bottle Bombs to the barracks.

These were his trump cards, effective in both sieging and charges.

However, the Red Coat Cannons were nowhere to be seen.

These couldn’t be developed in a short time.

But Chen Mo had thought of another way to replace the Red Coat Cannons, which was the Heartless Cannon.

The Heartless Cannon was a product from Chen Mo’s past wartime, not difficult to make.

The weapon’s main body was an empty gas tank, and after filling it with launch powder, a disk-shaped explosive pack would be put inside and ignited to project the ten-kilogram explosive pack 150-200 meters away.

Although the Great Song Dynasty didn’t have gas tanks, there were tin barrels.

The so-called empty gas tank was just a tin barrel.

Moreover, making these tin barrels was simple.

That day, Chen Mo drew the blueprints for the gas tanks and had people create or collect some tin barrels for modification.

After getting Chen Mo’s approval, Jiang Ruoqing used the excuse of packing up to leave.

Because she knew if she stayed, she wouldn’t get any sleep that night.

”Ruoqing, I... I’ll help you.” Xu Miaozhen also wanted to escape.

Luo Zhen blushed but didn’t leave; instead, her eyes showed a hint of desire.

Only Ye Wanqiu sat there dumbfounded.

...

The night deepened.

In the quiet back courtyard of the mansion, the orange cat Rice Ball pitifully curled up in the corner of the courtyard wall, its eyes glowing green in the dark, staring with curiosity at the buildings in the courtyard.

Once again, its owner was bullied.

The lights in the room had been extinguished; inside the spacious room, the curtains hung down, white skirts, blue skirts, belly bands, broken stockings, and other items scattered on the floor, mixed voices of moaning and dialogue faintly lingering.

The disordered noises went on for a long time before finally settling down.

Inside the curtains, Chen Mo lay in the middle of the bed, breathing a long sigh of relief.

Luo Zhen turned over, lying on the inner side of the bed, her cheeks moist as though after a sauna, her breathing somewhat erratic, her eyes full of contentment as she looked at Chen Mo.

Ye Wanqiu had already exited the scene, recovered somewhat, but still weak, holding a quilt on the outer side, too flushed to make eye contact.

It was her first time serving alongside other sisters.

”Once you arrive at the Chen Mansion, listen to Yaoyao. I’ve left some Fire Bottle Bombs in the mansion and increased the guards. The Xiao Mansion wants to ally with me, so they should send experts for support. As long as you stay, you should be safe,” Chen Mo said.

Ye Wanqiu didn’t respond, whether from embarrassment or lack of strength.

Luo Zhen nodded and then hesitated before saying, ”Sir... do you... want to see an Imperial Physician?”

”Hmm?” Chen Mo squinted his eyes, glancing at her: ”What’s wrong?”

”I consulted a doctor the day before yesterday; there’s nothing wrong with my body,” Luo Zhen said quietly.

”Hmm? That’s good news,” Chen Mo didn’t know what she was trying to say.

Ye Wanqiu also looked at her in confusion.

”It’s not good news if there’s nothing wrong with me; then it’s you who might have an issue...” Luo Zhen began to stammer.

”What kind of issue would I have?” Chen Mo was a bit confused.

”Sir, I’ve been with you for over two months, yet there’s no movement in my belly. The doctor said that pregnancy involves both the man and woman,” Luo Zhen said.

During this chaotic time, Luo Zhen yearned to give Chen Mo a child.

Initially, she thought the problem was with her.

She secretly consulted a doctor and found nothing wrong.

Then she consulted Miaozhen, who also had no movement in her belly.

And by subtly inquiring with Ruoqing, it was the same.

Chen Mo: ”...”

He had no physical issues.

The reason Luo Zhen and the others weren’t pregnant was by Chen Mo’s design.

At nineteen, he wasn’t ready to have children.

So at that time, he deliberately took contraceptive measures.

It should be known that Phoenix Qi helps in dual cultivation.

And under Chen Mo’s deliberate actions, it could also function as a contraceptive.

But how should he explain it to Luo Zhen?

After thinking for a moment, Chen Mo decided to tell the truth. He grabbed Luo Zhen’s hand: ”Zhen’Er, I am not ready for kids, so...”

Hearing this, Luo Zhen was a bit disappointed.

Noticing this, Chen Mo quickly pulled her into his arms, comforting her: ”I haven’t officially married you with ceremonial rites. If we had kids now, what would they say? Don’t worry, Zhen’Er, we will definitely have our own kids, I promise.”

In the Great Song Dynasty, having a child out of wedlock would invite criticism.

After speaking, Chen Mo used his left hand to hold Wanqiu, letting her rest her head on his arm: ”Wanqiu, we will have our own kids too.”
