Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1430: Chapter 1444: I’m Afraid You’re Too Late

Amidst joking and laughing with classmates, the day quickly arrived for the Charity Night.

Huo Shaohua brought a stylist and the gown prepared for An Ran to Longteng Xinyuan that afternoon, as An Ran had arranged beforehand.

She still had a class with Professor Sun in the afternoon, and she didn’t want to provoke that old man again.

There wasn’t much content in the last two classes, so An Ran was about to ask Lu Yi for leave when she saw him packing his books as well.

”Lu Yi, are you skipping class too?”

Although she often took leave and skipped class due to Wenshan Group affairs, she hadn’t seen Lu Yi leave school early for anything.

”Why not? Today is the Wenshan Group’s Charity Night, and my father asked me to attend with him. Hearing you, it sounds like your Mr. An is also attending?”

”Yeah, I was even hoping you would cover for me skipping class, but now I can’t rely on that,” An Ran sighed. She really didn’t want to ask the teacher for leave, mainly because even she felt she was asking for it a bit too often.

”Let’s go, I’ll ask for leave from the teacher in a bit, and I’ll ask for yours too,” Lu Yi packed up his books, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and looked at her with a gentle smile.

An Ran was instantly touched, ”Lu Yi, you’re such a good friend.”

Today, Lu Yi drove himself and first dropped An Ran off at Longteng Xinyuan before returning to the Lu Family.

Huo Shaohua and the stylist were already waiting at the door.

When An Ran appeared before them, the stylist’s eyes lit up, ”President Huo, is this your date?”

An Ran’s identity wasn’t public yet; in the few occasions she attended, she often appeared as Huo Shaohua’s date.

The Charity Night wouldn’t only host celebrities and notable figures, including business moguls, but would be star-studded, with journalists from around the world attending, so An Ran certainly wouldn’t reveal her identity at such an event.

She didn’t want the charity event to become a gossip hotspot about her.

Huo Shaohua didn’t speak, but his attitude confirmed the stylist’s words.

Once inside, the stylist began applying makeup to An Ran.

”Miss An has such great skin, truly youthful. Your face is full of collagen, just pinch it and water might come out. Plus, Miss An’s skin is fair, so I’ll just do light makeup for you.”

An Ran closed her eyes, letting the stylist draw and paint on her face.

When everything was ready, it was already five in the afternoon. The charity gala started at six, and it was about a half-hour drive from here to the venue, just in time to depart.

On the way, An Ran looked at the Charity Night schedule and the list of attendees that Huo Shaohua had prepared for her.

On the second page of the list, the name An Youcai appeared prominently, which surprised her a bit. Others didn’t know about her being a shareholder in Wenshan Group, but An Youcai should be aware.

Remembering how that man had asked her to spare the An Family last time they met, she slightly curled her lips. She could spare the An Family, but she wondered if the An Family would spare her.

Before reaching the hotel venue, Sun Wangbei’s call came in.

Answering the call, Sun Wangbei’s confident and flamboyant voice came through.

”Second Sister-in-law, do you want to come and have fun at the Charity Night today? If you want to come, I’ll pick you up. How about being my date?”

An Ran glanced at Huo Shaohua beside her, ”Young Master Sun, I’m afraid you’re too late. I am attending the Charity Night, but I’ve already got a date.”

”Already got a date? Who is it? Second Brother? No way, I called Second Brother this morning; he’s in the Imperial City?”
