Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1269: Chapter 1283: It’s Fine to Borrow Power Like a Fox

The servants, seeing the three come downstairs, hurriedly set the warmed breakfast on the table.

An Ran and Mu Xingfeng greeted their grandparents by the sofa. Upon hearing the commotion, Grandma Mu turned off the TV. Seeing the young people, her eyes smiled with glee, ”Hurry and eat, I asked the servants to keep everything warm for you. Ran, see if you like what’s on the table. If not, let Chen prepare something else for you.”

An Ran glanced at the table, which had both Chinese and Western dishes, likely considering she’s from the south and might not be used to plain porridge. There was also a bowl of lean meat salty porridge.

”Grandma, no need to go to any trouble. I have similar tastes to Xingfeng’s,” An Ran said with a smile. She and Mu Xingfeng had been together for so long, their tastes indeed weren’t much different; breakfast with millet porridge and buns was just fine.

”How could it be similar? He loves spicy food, and you can’t handle spicy at all,” Grandma teased, thinking An Ran only comes home occasionally and the family should cater to her tastes. Saying otherwise seemed like keeping her distance.

Mu Wanxin was already seated at the table, munching on fried dough sticks, grumbling with her mouth full, ”They say daughters married off are like spilled water, now I finally understand. Grandma completely ignores me now.”

Grandma Mu laughed even more joyfully, ”I may ignore you, but you’re still eating with such gusto, aren’t you? Hey, why are you eating fried dough sticks? Put them down, fried food isn’t good for the baby.”

”Fine, Grandma, keep ignoring me,” Mu Wanxin replied, stuffing the remaining piece of the fried dough stick into her mouth, puffing her cheeks comically.

Old Mr. Mu had already set the newspaper aside, giving a little snort, ”You’re not on your own now, how can you still be so willful? It’s a good thing Wenxuan is easygoing and spoils you. I didn’t see him this morning, did he go to the company for you?”

”Mm,” Mu Wanxin snorted from her nose.

”Wenxuan is so busy usually. How could you let him handle company matters on his off days?” Old Mr. Mu lectured.

”What else can I do? I’m pregnant. By the way, Ran, how are you getting on with the Wenshan Group affairs? When are you coming back to take over the Mu Family?” At this topic, Mu Wanxin’s eyes lit up.

She was a pregnant woman now, thus entitled to push off her responsibilities.

An Ran raised her head, blinking; she really wanted to ignore her big sister’s remark. Heaven knows, dealing with the Wenshan Group alone left her overwhelmed, where would she find time for the Mu Family?

”By the way, Ran, you did a great job handling Yin Qianxue’s issue last time. That’s the decisiveness a boss should have. If you can’t stand her, just terminate the contract. Who cares about breach penalties or damages? Would the Mu Family fear that?” Mu Wanxin handed An Ran a meat bun and casually took one herself, expressing trust in her.

”Big Sis, stop teasing me. I was just using the tiger’s authority to scare Yin Qianxue,” An Ran felt embarrassed by the praise, lowering her head and taking small bites of the bun.

”No, here’s your chance to be the tiger. Big Sis believes in you,” Mu Wanxin gave her a knowing look.

”There’s no need, borrowing the tiger’s authority suits me fine,” Mu Xingfeng interjected before An Ran could respond, ”An Ran still has school, and Wenshan Group affairs to deal with, she can’t take over the Mu Family.”
