Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1138: Chapter 1151: Workaholic

Since Mu Wanxin’s wedding, she has been hiding in the Guard Team like an ostrich. Honestly, Brother has been very kind to her, showing a tenderness she had never experienced before. But when she thinks about living with him, she doesn’t know how to face it.

Her long attachment to one person made it difficult for her to get along with another.

Originally, after Gu Haoyu proposed, Brother wanted to give her a grand engagement ceremony before getting married. But being a member of the Guard Team, her time was limited, and her grandfather was impatient. Somehow, he managed to convince the Gu Family elders to rush the marriage like a sales pitch, arranging for her and Gu Haoyu to get married as quickly as possible, even setting the wedding date directly.

Thinking about soon living with Gu Haoyu made her panic. She didn’t dare to see him or answer his calls. She stayed in the Guard Team for more than three months without stepping out. Today, she suddenly received orders from her superior to go register the marriage with Brother, holding the household register, and there was no need to ask who gave the order.

Lin Ruonan hadn’t had time to respond to the receptionist when a voice sounded behind her, ”Lili, is your President at the company?” Lin Ruonan turned at the sound to see a woman in her thirties behind her, dressed in high-end custom attire, her long hair tied in a bun at the nape of her neck, with makeup exuding luxury and elegance.

Beside her was a fashionably dressed girl, wearing a new autumn collection—a light pink princess-style dress that accentuated the girl’s sweetness and charm.

The receptionist slightly furrowed her eyebrows when she saw the visitors, ”I’m sorry, Mrs. Li, President Gu is currently in a meeting. Do you have an appointment?”

”Appointment? I’m his cousin, do I need an appointment to see him? I’ve been to the company before, have you ever seen me make an appointment?” the woman said, displeased.

”I’m sorry, Mrs. Li, company policy requires an appointment to see the President. If you don’t have an appointment, please wait in the lounge over there. Once the President is out of the meeting, I’ll inform you immediately,” Lili said apologetically, while Lin Ruonan noticed a hint of impatience in her eyes.

Li Meihua knew she couldn’t hold a stalemate with the receptionist any longer. Given Gu Haoyu’s temper, if an appointment was required to meet him, causing a scene here wouldn’t help her meet him.

She glanced at Xu Jiajia beside her and smiled kindly, ”You see, our Gu Yu is like this. Perhaps it’s because of his military academy background that he’s impartial and strict in handling company matters, treating everyone equally, even his cousin. Let’s go wait over there.”

The girl glanced around the Gu Family’s lobby and nodded at Li Meihua’s words, ”Auntie, I know. I’ve heard about Brother Gu’s character long ago. But if I really marry Brother Gu, won’t he be a workaholic too?”

Lin Ruonan looked at the sweetly dressed girl speaking more bluntly than she, who had been a soldier for a few years, couldn’t help but stick out her tongue and apologized to the receptionist, ”I don’t have an appointment either. I’ll wait over there too.”

”Alright, this way please.”

Lili’s attitude towards Li Meihua was entirely because Li Meihua was known for her antics, relying on being the President’s cousin, she would come to the company whenever she was free.

Li Meihua also had a hobby: anyone she wanted to associate with, as long as they had unmarried sisters or daughters, she would bring them to see the President.
