Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 549: Chapter 563: Trouble for the Fairy Sister?

But she really didn’t want a boyfriend. For one thing, all these years her eyes had been following Mu Xingfeng, and she had never thought of dating another man, nor did she know how to date a man.

For another, no matter what, she had just gone through a heartbreak and had no mood to accept a new relationship.

That day, she was arguing with her grandfather about not going to a blind date. Grandpa was so angry he slammed the table, threatening that if it went on like this, he would arrange a marriage for her.

Just as they were arguing, Gu Haoyu came by to deliver the tea leaves he owed Grandpa.

Somehow, Gu Haoyu managed to cajole Grandpa, saying something about helping to persuade her, and then... Grandpa actually agreed to let her stay at Gu Haoyu’s house for a few days.

At that time, Lin Ruonan was driven mad by her family and agreed without thinking too much.

It wasn’t until she entered the Gu family’s villa that she realized something seemed off, but it was too late by then.

Fortunately, Gu Haoyu was very busy with work every day, so he wasn’t home during the day. In the evenings, she’d excuse herself either by saying she was on a diet or wanted to rest and would go upstairs early to sleep, avoiding him.

She knew Gu Haoyu had a habit of morning runs, so every morning she would wait until he left the house before going downstairs for her run. She would deliberately run for a longer time, making sure to return only after Gu Haoyu had gone to the office.

Lin Ruonan leaned against the door for a while, listening for any movement outside. Sensing quietness, she figured Gu Haoyu was gone and only then left the room.

But she had just reached halfway down the stairs when she saw Gu Haoyu coming out of the kitchen.

”You’re awake? It’s snowing outside today, so no need to go for a run,” Gu Haoyu said as he placed a plate on the table.

Lin Ruonan’s eyes widened in shock, her legs frozen on the stairs.

What was even more surprising was that at this moment, Gu Haoyu was wearing a pure white apron, with his sleeves rolled up high. After placing the plate on the table, he returned to the kitchen.

Seeing the plate of golden, tender fried eggs on the table, Lin Ruonan couldn’t help but swallow.

It wasn’t because she was hungry; she was scared.

Who would have thought that someone like Brother Haoyu would cook? And make such beautiful fried eggs.

In her mind, Gu Haoyu was highly intelligent, had excellent leadership skills, especially with his aura that was like an immortal untouched by the mortal world, making people feel unworthy to offend.

Immortal Brother, have you come to the mortal world because the fairy is mad?

In no time, Gu Haoyu came out again holding a small pot. Seeing Lin Ruonan standing on the stairs not moving, his eyes darkened a bit but he still smiled, ”Nan, come over for breakfast.”

A couple of days ago, he received a call from Old Mr. Lin. He hurried to the Lin Family in the middle of a meeting and with Grandpa Lin’s assistance, brought Lin Ruonan back to his villa.

Although he knew he was already approved by the Lin Family, he didn’t want to forcefully bind Lin Ruonan to himself. He loved her and was willing to wait for her to love him. He had waited for over ten years. Now that she was right in front of him, seeing her every day already made him very content.

However, Lin Ruonan’s behavior these few days made him feel very frustrated. She was clearly avoiding him.

He didn’t understand. Was she really that afraid of him? They used to interact very naturally.

Now that Lin Ruonan had been here for three days, Grandpa Lin had hoped that they would take this time to develop their feelings. But the relationship seemed to make no progress at all.

Gu Haoyu didn’t want to remain passive any longer. Maybe he should try a different way of interacting with her.
