Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 533: Chapter 547: My Judgment Cannot Be Wrong

The cold wind was howling outside, but inside the flower house, it was like spring.

The red clay stove beside the table was brewing some fine tea, filling the flower house with its fragrance.

”Hey Old Man Mu, did Xingfeng not return to the Imperial City after completing his mission this time?” Old Mr. Lin moved his cannon piece and asked, looking up.

Last time, Mu Xingfeng was called away for an urgent mission during his vacation, and it seemed like his holiday was still not over.

”Return? His wife has started school. How could he return to the Imperial City to be with us?” Old Mr. Mu said without lifting his head, focused on the chessboard.

”Hmph,” Old Mr. Lin snorted, ”Xingfeng is good in every other way, but his choice of wife is really something else. What’s so good about that young girl? A student who hasn’t even graduated yet. How high can her vision be? Eventually, she’ll be a burden to Xingfeng. Back then, you should have put your foot down. He was just momentarily bewitched by that young girl. One day, he’ll regret it.”

Old Mr. Mu was not pleased by Old Mr. Lin’s constant complaints. His grandson could be criticized, but only by him. What right did others have to despise?

Moreover, didn’t he know his own grandson? The man was like an ice block. Before meeting An Ran, there was no other woman in his eyes, let alone the thought of marriage. Cold as a walking machine.

But after meeting An Ran, not only had he warmed up, but he had also even learned to smile.

Therefore, he had made great efforts to bring the two together. He believed in his own judgment.

But being criticized by Old Man Lin made him naturally unhappy.

”Old Man Lin, I can’t agree with you there. You think my grandson’s choice of wife is poor? I think it’s great. Now that they have their marriage certificate, a big stone has lifted from my heart. I’m just waiting to hold my great-grandchild.” Old Mr. Mu said somewhat proudly.

”What? They’ve already got their marriage certificate?” Old Mr. Lin was clearly taken aback that they had done it for real.

”Yes, they got it two days before Xingfeng’s mission,” Old Mr. Mu pointed at the chessboard, ”Checkmate.”

Old Mr. Lin couldn’t care less about the chessboard. His eyes widened, ”Old Man Mu, that’s too much. What’s wrong with my Ruonan? She waited for Xingfeng for so many years and got nothing. Now he goes and gets a certificate with a girl he’s known for a few months. How do you expect Ruonan to handle that?”

Everyone knew that Lin Ruonan had waited for Mu Xingfeng for all those years, but Mu Xingfeng had never reciprocated. Now that he thought about it, the two of them probably just weren’t destined to be together.

”Old Man Lin, I like Ruonan too. If the kids were meant to be, it would have happened already. Now that Xingfeng is with An Ran, I can only wish them well. You should look on the bright side. Ruonan spent so many years on Xingfeng; now that it’s over, it’s a good thing for her too. Better this than them dragging it out. Xingfeng and Ran already got their certificate. It’s time for that girl to move on. With Ruonan’s qualifications, any fine young man under Wei Dong’s command would be a great match for her.” Old Mr. Mu advised.

”Exactly. Among the noble ladies of the Imperial City, who can compare to our Ruonan? She has talent, beauty, and family background.” Old Mr. Lin felt a surge of pride at Old Mr. Mu’s words, immediately picturing Gu Haoyu in his mind.
