Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 117: Chapter 127: The Dove Occupies the Magpie’s Nest

When An Ran entered the house, she found it looked exactly like it did when she left last week. It seemed that Mu Xingfeng really didn’t come here to stay.

She put down her backpack and directly went to Mu Xingfeng’s closet to take out one of his white shirts. She had no choice since she had taken her own clothes back to the dorm previously. She wondered if she should leave a few changes of clothes here for the future. However, she felt a bit like she was intruding.

After taking a shower, her stomach growled with hunger. She opened the refrigerator and found that most of the food inside was inedible. Using the only two eggs and a bit of noodles, she made herself a bowl of noodles.

While eating, she thought to herself that since Mu Xingfeng didn’t come here, she had to prepare some food for herself. After all, she couldn’t go hungry when she finished work at 2 a.m.

An Ran slept straight through until 9 a.m. Although the bar closed late, it also opened late, so she only had to be there at 5 p.m. After getting up and tidying up, she left the house.

First, she went back to the dormitory to greet Xiao Xiao and grabbed a couple of changes of clothes. Then, she went to the supermarket to buy some long-lasting groceries. Carrying her bags, she returned to Longteng Xinyuan.

Meanwhile, at the South An Guard Team, Chief Guard Wang was organizing a welcoming banquet for Lin Ruonan.

Lin Ruonan reported to the Guard Team on Wednesday. Although her unit had already held a small welcoming ceremony for her, she was a Major with notable achievements and had been assigned to Nan’an. As the leader of the Nan’an garrison, it was necessary to show some respect.

The welcoming banquet was scheduled for Saturday at noon. Chief Guard Wang handed the task over to Lin Junyang. Naturally, Lin Junyang took it seriously and booked a room at Shengbaiwei early on.

Early in the morning, Lin Junyang pricked up his ears like a radar, listening to the movements next door.

He had asked Liu Hu to relay the message about the banquet to Mu Xingfeng a couple of days ago, but he still hadn’t received a definite response.

Mu Xingfeng had been very unpredictable lately. On days off, he was impossible to find at the Guard Team. Lin Junyang knew that his sister had ulterior motives for coming, but he didn’t want her to lose face on such an occasion.

Eventually, Lin Junyang called Liu Hu, ”Liu Hu, where are you?”

”At the Guard Team,” Liu Hu replied succinctly. Upon hearing this, Lin Junyang felt relieved. Liu Hu was Mu Xingfeng’s assistant, always by his side, so if Liu Hu was at the Guard Team, it meant Mu Xingfeng was likely there too.

With Liu Hu’s appointment, Lin Junyang’s responsibilities had changed somewhat. Director Lu had personally chosen him for the position of company commander. Though he was still under Mu Xingfeng’s command, he couldn’t stick to Mu Xingfeng all the time now.

”Did you tell Boss Mu about what I mentioned the other day?” Lin Junyang asked again.

”I did,” Liu Hu answered honestly.

”What did Boss Mu say? Did he agree or not?” Lin Junyang asked anxiously, hoping for an answer.

”Boss Mu didn’t say anything.”

”Damn,” Lin Junyang swore out loud, ”What kind of guard are you? Don’t you know today’s banquet isn’t just for my sister but also includes Chief Guard Wang, Captain Li, and Captain Tao? How can you be so irresponsible?”

Liu Hu felt a bit wronged. As a guard, what could he do? Being held responsible for this was unfair to him.

”But I have no control over Boss Mu’s actions,” Liu Hu said.

”Alright, alright, where is Boss now?” Lin Junyang asked helplessly. It seemed he had to handle this himself.
