Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 859: Chapter 728: Kidnapping the Hua Monk

Chong Treasure became more and more puzzled as it looked on.

”It’s impossible, that woman, no matter how bad she is, is a god, and is also the Medical Buddha. You’re just a human, hmph, you must just coincidentally look alike,” ultimately, the Divine Worm Chong Treasure shook its head, negating its own thoughts.

”I’ve already told you all the truth about the matter, it’s time you should let me go,” said Chong Treasure as it shook its head. Normally at this time, it would have already returned to the temple.

Not having returned yet at this hour, Monk Jiu must be extremely anxious by now, eh, that is, if he’s not drunk.

”I don’t recall ever saying that I would let you go if you confessed. However, I can take back the dark spiritual power inside of you,” Ye Lingyue also knew that Chong Treasure was just following orders.

And this little bug, quite interesting it is, she truly wouldn’t take its life over a few jars of Rainbow Five Treasures.

”You woman, how can you be so treacherous, I tell you, my master Monk Jiu is amazing, he is...” Chong Treasure was so angry that its antennas shook, but mid-sentence, it remembered something and hastily closed its mouth.

”Are you trying to tell me that offending Nan Jiu, the Disciple of Namo Mountain Sect Leader, is equivalent to offending Namo Mountain, and the consequences would be severe, right?” Ye Lingyue spread her hands.

”How do you know my master’s identity?” Chong Treasure’s eyes widened.

It clearly remembered that its master had said not to reveal his identity outside.

”Indeed... in this world, the only person who drinks, eats meat, and also keeps a Divine Worm as a Beast Pet, apart from the monks of Namo Mountain, I can’t think of anyone else,” Ye Lingyue was also wiser due to past experiences.

She had grown more cautious after being tricked by Zi Tang Su from Lonely Moon Sea at the Rift Valley Sand River last time.

It is said that this time, for World’s First Refining, Sifang City Lord invited people from the Three Sects. One Zi Tang Su, plus Yue Mei, if Namo Mountain did not send someone, it would be suspicious.

And recalling earlier, that wine and meat Monk was carelessly sleeping in the Sifang City Lord’s Four Directions Temple, Ye Lingyue roughly confirmed that he must be from Namo Mountain.

To verify the monk’s identity, in the past few days, Ye Lingyue had someone compile a list of Namo Mountain Disciples.

Nan Jiu’s information was included in it.

Nan Jiu, the secular disciple of the Namo Mountain Sect Leader.

This guy was also a noble family son in his early years. For some reasons, he became a monk, and although he took the vows, he didn’t quit meat and alcohol.

Because drinking and eating meat are forbidden in Namo Mountain, he was often traveling around, and even the Namo Mountain Sect Leader could do nothing about this Nan Jiu.

The reason Nan Jiu came to Sifang City this time was that he heard there was a tavern here selling a fine wine called Rainbow Five Treasures Brew.

Unexpectedly, one thing led to another, and he ended up clashing with Ye Lingyue.

”You, you, you, knowing all this, you still dare to detain me; aren’t you afraid of my master coming for revenge?” Chong Treasure’s face was full of dejection, this woman’s boldness was too much.

The reputation of Namo Mountain was indeed resounding; previously, people would be scared half to death just hearing Nan Jiu reveal his identity.

”I’m actually looking forward to his revenge. He stole my wine, and also caused the business of the Wine House to plummet. Even if the Namo Mountain Sect Leader himself comes to my door, I have done no wrong,” Ye Lingyue spoke and stuffed Chong Treasure into her Qiankun Purple Gold Bag.

It was also her bad luck, for this World’s First Refining, the Sifang City Lord invited three judges.

Lonely Moon Sea, Namo Mountain, and Yaochi Immortal Pavilion each had a representative.

First, she had made an enemy of Zi Tang Su from Lonely Moon Sea, then Yue Mei also came to detest her, and coupled with the unknown stance of Sifang City Lord—friend or foe—it left Ye Lingyue no choice but to try and win over the last judge, Nan Jiu.

Now, she was waiting for Monk Nan Jiu to come knocking on her door.

Speaking of Monk Nan Jiu, after drinking several jars of the Rainbow Five Treasures Brew, he slept until the evening.

When he woke up, he found that his Chong Treasure had still not returned, and immediately felt as urgent as a burning eyebrow, rushing to the Four Directions Tavern.

Four Directions Tavern had its doors firmly shut due to the ghostly disturbances.

Nan Jiu walked up to the entrance, lifted his greasy foot, ready to kick the door off its hinges.

Just then, his nose twitched.

A rich aroma of wine wafted out from the Four Directions Tavern.

The scent instantly lured out the Alcohol Worm in Nan Jiu’s belly.

”Since Master Jiu has arrived, why not come in for a little drink?”

The pleasant female voice had barely finished speaking when the doors of the Tavern opened.

A young maiden was seen sitting inside, her eyes sparkling, seated at a desk.

In front of her was a jar of wine.

It was from this jar that the wine’s fragrance emanated.

Nan Jiu loved wine as if it were his life, even more so than Ye Lingyue’s stepfather Lan Yingwu and maternal grandfather Ye Gu.

At the sight of fine wine, his feet became rooted to the spot, and the safety of his own Chong Treasure was thrown to the back of his mind.

Earlier, when he drank the Rainbow Five Treasures Brew, he thought it was the finest wine on the mainland, but today, after smelling the wine in front of Ye Lingyue, he realized he was terribly wrong.

”Hehe, young lady, what a coincidence, this is our second encounter. We met before in the temple, I’ve come to collect our Little Insect.”

Ye Lingyue understood after listening.

This Monk Nan Jiu was no easy one to deal with.

His words carried an implied threat, clearly warning her that if she didn’t release the Chong Treasure, he might just report her and Feng Xun’s venture into the Demon Awakening Gate to the Sifang City Lord.

Last time in the temple, he was indeed feigning drunkenness.

”The Chong Treasure is indeed in my hands. Since Master wishes to take it back, the younger generation will respectfully oblige. However, Master must forget the events of that day.” As Ye Lingyue spoke, she actually released the Chong Treasure from the Qiankun Purple Gold Bag.

Monk Nan Jiu glanced at the Chong Treasure, saw that it was unharmed, and his expression relaxed.

”That’s right, that’s right. The Monk’s memory has always been poor. Young lady, they say a visitor is a guest, won’t you invite this Monk to drink a few cups?”

Monk Nan Jiu remarked, not forgetting to glance at the jar of wine in front of Ye Lingyue, swallowing his saliva.

The Little Insect sensed trouble and immediately knew its master’s old habit had resurfaced; upon seeing good wine, his legs would turn to jelly.

”Master, let’s go, this woman is very cunning, her wine must not be drunk.”

”If the Master wants to drink, that’s fine, but I wish to propose a condition,” Ye Lingyue said calmly.

”Young lady, you’re young, but you’re shrewd. There aren’t many in this world who can negotiate with this Monk, and clearly, you are not one of them,” Monk Nan Jiu said somewhat displeased.

”Master, listen to my condition before you refuse it,” Ye Lingyue said as she slowly poured out a cup of wine.

As the wine was poured, an extraordinary fragrance filled the air; not only did Monk Nan Jiu find it irresistible, but even the Little Insect could not help but swallow saliva.

Both the man and the insect muttered in their hearts in unison.

”Good wine!”
