Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 384: Chapter 254: Formation of the First Combat Alchemist Army

After the completion of Moon City, the Ye Family People did not immediately depart.

”Recently hearing that the Xixia Plain is not very peaceful, the Family Head has instructed us to stay in the city for a while to see if we can lend a helping hand.” Before leaving, Ye Gu had earnestly urged that they must do their best to assist Ye Lingyue.

In the eyes of their elders, no matter how talented the younger generation might be, they are ultimately still children.

Moreover, Ye Lingyue was only fourteen years old, a genuine child; managing such a large Moon City alone would certainly not be easy.

The temporary stay of the Ye Family People, including Ye Huangcheng, also brought some benefits to Ye Lingyue.

During this period, she was planning to reorganize the Alchemists of the Alchemist Mansion.

During the construction of the city walls, Ye Lingyue discovered that many Alchemists from the Alchemist Mansion possessed the talent for Artifact Refining.

In such a dangerous place as the Xixia Plain, being merely a Pill Master was far from enough. Ye Lingyue had an idea to change the direction of these Alchemists, transforming them from purely Alchemy Masters to Combat Alchemists.

This idea, once proposed, met with both opposition and support.

The opposing Vice Manager Cui, while those agreeing included Jin Wu Old Monster and Ye Huangcheng.

Vice Manager Cui thought that even if its name was changed to Moon City, Dan City was originally the Alchemy Capital, and increasing the number of Combat Alchemists might attract the court’s censure.

Concerning this worry, Ye Lingyue also had her own opinion. She believed that with the current Alchemy efficiency of the Alchemist Mansion, ensuring the monthly Elixir supply needed by the court and surrounding cities was not difficult.

As for the Combat Alchemists, she did not plan to select them all from the Alchemist Mansion, but rather...

”Using Evil Alchemists as Combat Alchemists, this idea should absolutely not be entertained,” Vice Manager Cui, upon hearing this, turned pale with fright.

Vice Manager Cui didn’t know what method Ye Lingyue used to provide Jin Wu Old Monster with a new body, but he still harbored caution towards those Evil Alchemists from the Central Plains.

Even Jin Wu Old Monster himself was shocked upon hearing Ye Lingyue’s words.

”My lord, are you saying you want to employ my disciples?”

Jin Wu Old Monster’s voice trembled slightly.

Previously, Ye Lingyue had killed over a hundred of his disciples without so much as a frown.

”That’s right, I have thought it over. Evil and good are but a thought away. Evil Sect entered Daxia only to make a living. While you all may not excel in Alchemy, in combat, each of you is skilled. There is nothing better than utilizing talents to their fullest.” Ye Lingyue had already discovered this during her skirmishes with the Jin Wu Sect.

Jin Wu Old Monster had submitted, but there were definitely still many remnants within the Jin Wu Sect. These people, if properly managed and utilized, could form an impressive Combat Alchemist force.

”If you can persuade your disciples to renounce evil and follow good, I can authorize that they receive official residency in Moon City. However, they must fully comply with the Alchemist Mansion’s arrangements, and should they commit evil again, I will certainly execute one to warn the others. Jin Wu Old Monster, do you want this opportunity or not?” Ye Lingyue looked at Jin Wu Old Monster.

”Yes, of course. My lord, thank you for your grace of rebirth. I guarantee with my life that my disciples will abide by the rules of Moon City, turn over a new leaf, and lead good lives,” Jin Wu Old Monster said excitedly. To be honest, being forced by Ye Lingyue to succumb was initially quite reluctant for him.

But there was no escaping Ye Lingyue’s mysterious Solid Rank power, so Jin Wu Old Monster dared not flee.

He could never have dreamed that she would shelter the remnants of the Jin Wu Sect and let them join Daxia.

”By the way, my lord, besides my disciples from the Jin Wu Sect, I also have some connections in the Central Plains and could recruit some Alchemists from other smaller Sects. My lord, do you think they could be put to use?” Jin Wu Old Monster had an idea and took the opportunity to seek benefits for other Evil Sects in the Central Plains.

”As long as you think they can be reformed and turn from evil to good, all are acceptable,” Ye Lingyue promised without hesitation.

Immediately, Jin Wu Old Monster set off to summon his disciples and contacted the Sect Leaders of some other forces and declining Sects he knew in the Central Plains.

In just three short days, the number of people Jin Wu Old Monster recruited amounted to over a thousand.

This number was even equivalent to a small-scale garrison.

Looking at these Evil Sect members, all of whom possessed strength no less than Fourth or Fifth Rank, Vice Manager Cui and others had mixed feelings. But Ye Lingyue remained calm, entrusting Jin Wu Old Monster with the training of these people.

Only a few days remained until the end of the month, and the wild woman whom Lan Cai’er had encountered by chance would soon arrive. Ye Lingyue began her Cultivation, preparing herself for the battle with her.

Ever since last time, when Dan City sent a distress letter and Hong Fang flatly refused, he had been waiting for another plea for help from Dan City.

Hong Fang also employed some tactics, deliberately letting his colleagues in the Military Department delay the appointment of the new City Army commander. With the current state of Dan City, lacking soldiers and crumbling walls, Ye Lingyue, the Master of the Alchemist Mansion, must be utterly overwhelmed.

Thinking of this, Hong Fang felt an almost perverse sense of joy. That Ye surname brat had set him up like that in Xia Capital, and to think, there would come a day when she needed his help.

But as he waited left and right, there was no more news from Dan City.

Hong Fang could no longer contain his impatience. After sending someone to inquire, he was astonished to learn that the city walls of Dan City had been rebuilt and that Dan City had been renamed Moon City.

According to the reports from spies who had been to Moon City, the newly built Moon City shone like an eternal moon sitting on the Xixia Plain, gleaming with beautiful luster.

Not only that, the city walls of Moon City were extremely solid; not even the crevice between bricks could be seen. Upon further inquiry, it was learned that the walls of Moon City were cast using ten thousand pounds of Moon Iron.

Ten thousand pounds of Moon Iron!

This staggering extravagance struck Hong Fang dumbfounded.

That was Moon Iron; even for the Imperial Army in the Imperial Palace, Moon Iron was a treasured material.

Even Qi City’s garrison wore only battle armor made from 80 percent Xuantie. Yet, the small Moon City used it to construct its walls.

And there was even more shocking news. Hong Fang heard that Moon City had recently recruited a large number of Alchemists with unknown identities for some secret activities.

”Moon Iron, recruiting Alchemists, what on earth is Ye Lingyue up to!” Hong Fang wondered.

”Ten thousand pounds of Moon Iron, that’s no small amount, Great General. Are we just going to let that Ye brat do as she pleases?” Xia Houhong’s face showed dissatisfaction.
