Transmigrating Into a Book, the Villain Becomes the White Moonlight!

28: Chapter 28 Su Zheng, a cunning and shrewd man.Su Zheng looked at his son’s appearance, shook his head, and finally spoke: ”The key point of this matter is not The girl, nor the person spreading the news, but you.”

”Me?”

”Correct. You want to protect her; do you want to maintain the status quo, or do you have other plans?”

”Just... maintaining the status quo is fine,” Su Bai answered.

”That’s simple.” Su Zheng picked up the internal phone, gave a few brief instructions, and then said to Su Bai, ”With things like public opinion, the more you explain, the more passive you become. The best way isn’t to put out the fire, but to light a bigger one to cover the original small flame.”

”A bigger fire?”

”For example,” a scheming curve hooked at the corner of Su Zheng’s mouth, ”Su Corporation announces the establishment of a Serious Illness Medical Assistance Fund for families in difficulty. In the first batch of aid recipients, The girl’s father just happens to be on the list. At the same time, the entertainment company under the group can ’accidentally’ reveal that they are in contact with a highly potential amateur girl whose image description matches hers perfectly, preparing to cultivate her as a positive energy idol.”

He looked at the stunned Su Bai: ”This way, all the rumors of being ’kept’ will turn into an inspirational story of a wealthy family having a keen eye for talent and sponsoring a gifted girl in distress. The person spreading the news will instead become the best assistant in pushing this story forward. Do you understand?”

Su Bai was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly realized, his eyes lighting up: ”Brilliant! Dad, you’re truly brilliant!”

This move of surreptitiously substituting one thing for another and turning passivity into initiative was indeed something a slacker Villain brain like his couldn’t have thought of in a short time.

”But if that’s the case, won’t Mu Xue become an idol? Won’t she get even more attention then?” Su Bai asked.

”You’re somewhat smart,” Su Zheng followed up. ”In name, she’s an amateur girl, but in reality, Su Corporation wants her to focus on her studies for now. Drag this out for two or three years, and no one will remember her. Even if you want to promote her as an idol artist then, it’s up to you.”

Saying that, Su Zheng pressed the phone on the side and said, ”Bring over a contract for a Trainee Artist.”

Not long after he finished speaking, the office door was pushed open, and a middle-aged man walked in holding a contract.

”Boss, here is the contract.” The middle-aged man placed the contract on the table and left briskly.

Su Zheng handed the contract to Su Bai and said: ”Have that girl sign this. Tomorrow, find someone to go to the hospital to interview her mother, then transform this matter from being ’kept’ into ’sponsorship.’ Then, use the angle of campus cyberbullying to withdraw the accusations and have the Marketing Department hire internet water armies to flood the Campus Network.”

Su Bai took the thick contract and flipped through it quickly. When he saw the contract duration, he couldn’t help but click his tongue: ”Thirty years? Dad, this contract... is it legally valid? This is too long.”

”Of course it is,” Su Zheng’s tone was certain, carrying a composure of one who controls the rules. ”Contract durations in the entertainment industry are inherently different. As long as the contract content is signed through voluntary negotiation by both parties, it has legal effect. The key is that the contract will clearly state that we, the investors, have the right to unilaterally terminate the contract, while she does not.”

Su Bai then realized and continued reading. When his eyes swept over the liquidated damages clause, he said in confusion: ”Three... three hundred million?! This penalty for breach of contract is too exaggerated!”

He still had a concept of money.

This figure was not a small amount.

”It’s not exaggerated.” Su Zheng picked up his teacup and took a slow sip. ”This is called risk hedging. In case she really gets lucky by chance in the future and becomes famous on this path, wanting to jump ship or go solo, this is the price. If she doesn’t want to pay the liquidated damages, she should stay and earn money for the company honestly. As for the split,”

He pointed to the relevant clauses in the contract, ”A 30-70 split of the net income. In our subsidiary companies, this is already considered merciful for this type of tied artist.”

”Only seventy percent?” Su Bai followed up subconsciously.

”Seventy percent is ours.”

Su Zheng corrected him flatly, ”This seventy percent doesn’t even include the company’s early and ongoing operational costs, marketing expenses, resource exchanges, and other overheads. Of course, as long as she stays in the company peacefully, these accounts will never be calculated in detail with her; she just needs to take her share of hard-earned money according to the contract. But if she wants to leave, then all these investments will become clear and definite accounts, which, along with the liquidated damages, will become shackles she can never break free from.”

Su Bai was secretly alarmed; this was simply a thorough ’slave treaty’ that completely controlled the other party.

To eat this seemingly glamorous meal, one must first sign this deed of sale.

”Then... what if she’s unwilling to sign?” Su Bai couldn’t help but ask; he wanted to know his father’s backup plan.

Hearing this, Su Zheng gave his son a meaningful look, leaning forward slightly with a bit of inquiry: ”What? You kid... are you really taking an interest in that girl this time?”

He knew his son too well; he changed girlfriends faster than clothes. He had never seen him truly put effort into any girl, let alone care about her wishes and situation.

”No!” Su Bai immediately shook his head in denial, his tone candid, which was the truth. ”I’m just asking out of curiosity. If she doesn’t sign, won’t our plan be unable to proceed?”

”If she doesn’t sign and you don’t care,”

Su Zheng leaned back against the chair, his expression returning to his usual business rationality.

”Then this matter is no longer within the scope of what our Su Family needs to worry about. To solve the current public relations crisis, we must create a larger, controllable exposure to cover it. And the attention brought by exposure is, in essence, traffic. We are businessmen, and traffic is potential wealth. We cannot, and will not, do a losing business. Since she is unwilling to accept our help and conditions, then she will naturally bear the consequences of her own plight.”

”Understood! Thanks, Dad!” Su Bai completely cleared his thoughts, picked up the heavy contract, and got up to leave.

”Wait,” Su Zheng stopped him and reminded, ”Your Game Company’s team has been recruited and formed according to your requirements. Find some time to go and take a look. Don’t just fool around all day; you have to do some proper work.”

”OK, OK! I got it!” Su Bai agreed readily, waved his hand, and walked out of the office quickly without looking back.

After all that back and forth, it was already noon when he returned to the hotel. Su Bai stood at the suite door and knocked. Almost immediately, the door was opened from the inside, and Mu Xue’s face, filled with anxiety and hope, appeared behind the door. Seeing it was Su Bai, she seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and hurriedly moved aside to welcome him in.

”Is there a way? Has there been... a turn for the better?” Mu Xue followed closely behind Su Bai, her voice filled with irrepressible urgency.
