From Arsenal to the Ball God

Deschamps noticed at this moment, glaring angrily at Benzema, ”Get off the field! Not standing up for your teammates but creating chaos among us! Get off now!”

Benzema heard their voices and turned back, feeling embarrassed, compounded by the team’s recent devastating defeat and the chaotic match situation, he suddenly became agitated.

”Damn!”

He suddenly lashed out with a kick, sending a piece of turf flying, then tore off the captain’s armband that Ma’el had put on his arm when he came off, and slammed it heavily onto the ground.

As the captain’s armband fell to the ground, everyone, including Ma’el and Deschamps, was stunned. They hadn’t expected Benzema to act this way under the gaze of fans worldwide.

Had it been thrown after the game, in the locker room or anywhere else, or from Ma’el’s hand, it might not have had this kind of impact.

A deputy captain, doing something that trampled on the team’s dignity at this moment!

Not only the France team players, but even the Sweden team players who were in conflict with them were shocked.

They suddenly felt their issues were trivial, gradually calming down, taking the ball, and heading back.

Deschamps suddenly felt his brain was flooded with blood, turned around, and walked straight towards the locker room, turning back before entering the players’ passage pointing at Benzema, ”Think carefully if something is wrong with your brain! Idiot!”

Ma’el didn’t freeze in place for a few seconds, he looked at an assistant coach still in a daze, ”Make a substitution! Quick!! Get that madman off the field!”

He could feel his heart rate shooting up to 160, otherwise, he wouldn’t be roaring at the assistant coach right now.

After saying this, he felt a bit regretful, but now he certainly couldn’t bother to apologize, he would have to wait until later.

He took long strides into the players’ passage, preparing to discuss with Deschamps how to handle this matter.

Deschamps happened to be turning back, seeing Ma’el, he patted his chest to calm down his anger, ”I was about to call you, to ask for your opinion.”

Ma’el held Deschamps’ shoulder, remaining silent for a moment, pulling him to an empty corner before speaking, ”I have no bias against Benzema, our relationship had been improving.

”But today’s incident is absolutely intolerable, as you’ve previously mentioned, you can’t expect someone who doesn’t care about the team to help lead us to victory.”

He felt momentarily dazed while speaking, wondering why today was so chaotic, but quickly regained his composure, continuing, ”I understand if we remove him from the team now, we would face a lot of pressure.

”But letting him stay means not only enduring pressure and disdain from fans but also having a ticking time bomb in our midst.”

After saying this, Ma’el felt his breath becoming rapid, possibly due to extreme emotional fluctuations, forgetting to breathe.

Deschamps stood in place, looking at Ma’el for a while, showing appreciation in his eyes, his tone of speech improved significantly, ”I must say, your idea is quite like mine, to be able to decide in such a short time, you are indeed a natural fit to captain.

”Once this is resolved, I will tell Wenger about it, and recommend you as Arsenal’s captain.”

Ma’el smiled and shook his head, indicating this wasn’t the time to discuss those matters.

”Join me for the press conference later, face those reporters, since you can make decisions, you can face them too, it’s a form of training.”

”Alright.”

After saying this, the two sat inside the locker room, soon hearing a chaotic sound from outside.

Seems like the match ended, France lost two to one, Sweden won but didn’t advance, neither team’s fans got the outcome they wanted, venting their anger outside.

”Haha.....”

Deschamps suddenly laughed dryly, then raised his eyebrows, looking at Ma’el, ”Inside and outside the field, unforeseen circumstances occur, both within and outside the team, nothing is predictable.”

”This kind of European Cup, do you like it? Or, what’s the feeling?”

Ma’el leaned against the wall, looked up, pondered for a moment, thinking people should find optimism within pessimistic matters, he laughed, ”Exciting, damn it’s really exciting, I’m increasingly looking forward to the knockout stage.”

”Hahaha.....!” The two madmen laughed together inside the locker room, on this crazy day, a losing day, they laughed openly with generosity.

”Snap!”

Afterward, they clapped their hands together, as if forming a special bond and deep affection on this crazy day.

Seems like football brings them not only joy and glory..... sometimes, they can also experience a different kind of passionate era, ’good times’ on such universally recognized losing days.
