From Arsenal to the Ball God

As a striker, when you encounter such opportunities, you should comfortably put the ball in; otherwise, you’ll lose value.

”Very steady.”

Nasri, who provided the assist, was the first to run to Ma’el, clapped hands with him, and said with a smile, ”Hope we can have such a connection in the official matches!”

”We will!” Ma’el nodded, then was almost knocked over by Sagna and Klich with a heavy tackle.

”Beep! Beep—!”

Soon after, the referee blew the whistle to end the first half, and the main players headed to the sidelines, with many of them taking off their football boots.

Deschamps had been waiting for Ma’el, and as he joyfully patted Ma’el on the head, he said with a slightly reproachful tone, ”I told you to ease up, and you scored 2 in a half; what will the other teams think?”

Ma’el shrugged innocently, ”I was easing up; otherwise, I feel like I could have scored a hat-trick in the half.”

”Haha.” Deschamps shook his head with a smile and then sincerely remarked, ”I think I understand Wenger’s feelings now. After this match, I need to chat with him.”

Ma’el picked up a bottle, took a few sips, and asked, ”Can you let me play another 20 minutes in the second half? I want to try for two consecutive hat-tricks.”

”I refuse.” Deschamps crossed his arms over his chest and smiled, ”You want a hat-trick, there’s a chance at the European Cup. Let’s see if you do it in the group stage or the knockout stage.”

Ma’el squeezed out a smile and said brightly, ”I usually prefer doing it in the finals.”

After saying this, amid Deschamps’s appreciative yet skeptical laughter, he walked away gracefully, took off his football boots, and began stretching.

In the second half, everyone except Matuidi was substituted, with the reserve lineup taking the field to battle against Serbia.

They played more fiercely than the main lineup, as everyone hoped to gain Deschamps’s favor and secure more playing time in the European Cup.

In the 78th minute of the match, the fourth goal came, with Reveille assisting the veteran Malouda to score.

Four to zero!

This was the final score at the end, and after reassembling, the France team began their European Cup journey with a grand victory.

”I have full confidence in you all.”

In the post-match locker room, Deschamps clapped his hands happily, ”I believe we can play this kind of football in the official matches, and I believe the European Cup won’t be an obstacle for us. We aim to restore the glory of the Gaul Rooster!”

”You have a day off tomorrow; you can go out and have a get-together with your girlfriends, but try not to drink or eat anything too greasy, keep in shape.”

”Yes.....!” Many players’ faces lit up, as their wives were waiting at the hotel next door.

Ma’el also smiled; after a few days of training, he missed Isabella a bit too.

Before leaving the locker room, he wrapped his arms around Sagna and Koscielny and approached the documentary camera, motioning for them to join him in capturing this joyful winning day.

Sagna and Koscielny quickly caught on; they stood beside Ma’el, all three of them clenched their fists together, and finally, in perfect sync, widened their eyes and laughed, ”Vamos.....!!”

”Haha....!” Their laughter quickly spread throughout the locker room, infecting many.

Many gave them envious looks. After an impressive season, perhaps these three hadn’t realized that they brought their extraordinary championship flair and positivity to the France team.

June 2, London Puma Headquarters.

With the launch of the ’Ma’el LM7’ boots, the company had been bustling, with people walking briskly, shouting to communicate.

It felt a bit like the bustling scenes from ”The Wolf of Wall Street,” though without the chaos party.

”Control those negative reviews; many are obviously just hating for the sake of hating, Adi’s trolls, perhaps?!”

”We need to boost the promotion efforts! The reaction is obviously good, worth additional investment!”
