From Arsenal to the Ball God

”Check the time! Damn it!!”

Fulham’s head coach jumped up on the sidelines, expressing his dissatisfaction and protesting to the referee by pointing at his wrist.

Seeing no response from the referee, he feigned madness, sometimes banging the canopy, sometimes rushing at the fourth official and shouting loudly, ”Damn it, do you have to wait for Arsenal to score before you blow the whistle?!”

”Boo-boo-boo...!”

Fulham fans also started pushing at this moment, everyone stood up to apply final pressure.

”Xuxu~~!”

”Dog referee, blow the whistle quickly, or you won’t be leaving London today!”

”Better keep an eye on your wife and kids!”

”Hurry up!”

At the center of the attention, the referee looked at his watch under pressure, with sweat dripping from his forehead.

Sometimes, it’s not just wanting to make up time that you can make it up, the pressure is indeed great, and those who haven’t stood here won’t know.

”Bang!”

Szczeny kicked the ball to Ma’el and then rushed into the penalty area.

The goalkeeper has joined in too!

Everyone knows these will be the last one or two waves of attacks.....the guy holding the whistle will soon yield to Fulham’s fans.

”Bang bang bang...!”

After Ma’el received the ball, he dribbled a few times, constantly observing the situation in the penalty area, at least over 15 players were piled in the box, and the remaining were on the sides.

He felt some pressure surging in his heart, he knew very well that all Arsenal’s hopes were pinned on him.

Teammates in the penalty area waiting, Wenger watching behind, fans praying.....whether the team can retreat with points depends on the quality of his kick.

He adjusted the ball to his right foot, which he trusted more, took one last glance at the opposing goalkeeper Schwarzer’s position, to prevent him from directly coming out to catch the ball.

”Bang!!”

Then he took a deep breath, placed his supporting foot at the most comfortable distance, turned his body, and sent a curved ball towards the goal.

Ma’el pinned all his hopes on this ball, watching intently as it flew towards the far post.

There, Fulham’s double center-backs faced off against Arsenal’s double center-backs, four players jumped successively aiming at the ball.

These were perhaps the strongest headers on the pitch, their gathering here was no coincidence.

”Come on!!” Ma’el’s face lit with intensity, he swung his fist towards them, because he saw Vermaelen gaining the upper hand, about to head the ball.

”Bang!”

A deep sound of contact with the ball arose, as Vermaelen’s forehead firmly connected with the ball, he secured this high point!

Goalkeeper Schwarzer had no time for panic, hurriedly lunging towards the flying ball’s far corner, eyes closed during the process.

”Swish!”

”Thud!”

The sound of the ball entering the net followed, accompanied by Schwarzer’s falling sound.

The ball is in!

One to one!

Arsenal didn’t let defeat happen!

”Yeeaahhh...!!” The roar from the Emirates Stadium burst forth overwhelmingly, all fans instantly plunged into extreme joy, madly waving their arms.

This surely wasn’t a glorious match, drawing at home against Fulham was not something to celebrate.

But the unbeaten run continues!

The team won’t be demoralized!

One point is insignificant, preserving momentum is crucial!

”I remember that season!”

Some fans jumped wildly waving their arms in excitement, ”We had at least seven or eight times when the ’unbeaten streak’ seemed to drift away, facing troubles from both strong teams and weak ones, but someone always stood up!

”Ma’el! A precious assist! Vermaelen’s redeeming header!”

Other fans kept patting their hearts, shook their heads in wonder: ”Goal....! We actually held onto it, scoring in the final moments!

”Fulham’s defense today was almost perfect, they had no flaws! Thankfully all Arsenal people didn’t give up!

”Come on! I believe in this team! Keep going forward! 13 rounds 33 points! Outstanding performance!”

Off the pitch, in front of Arsenal’s bench.

”Oh....!!”

Wenger rushed out wearing a half-zipped jacket, arms placed on both sides of his head, seemingly flexing his arm muscles, but in reality, constantly shaking.

The man who personally crafted an unbeaten season knows very well what this last-minute equalizer means.

Sometimes, you just encounter very tough opponents, who create unforeseen troubles beyond their capabilities, causing self-doubt.

But as long as each match is fought through, eventually everyone can face each opponent with a calm mind, accept each team’s sudden burst, get used to snatching points from them.

The team at that time will truly approach the unbeaten season team!

”This rascal!”

Wenger looked at Vermaelen’s figure, couldn’t help but say: ”I thought the national team’s defeat would damage his confidence, but he regained it with a goal.”

”And it was Ma’el’s assist!” Philip approached, excitedly saying: ”He may subconsciously forget that match, deepening his notion that Ma’el is his teammate, sometimes that’s important too.

”We’ve got it back! November’s Premier League schedule is ending like this, not entirely victorious, but an unbeaten run is good!”

...

”Aahh...!”

On the pitch, Ma’el felt a surge of joy at the sight of the ball hitting the net, standing still with his arms wide open, eyes closed, savoring the current atmosphere.

Celebrating a draw with Fulham.....having recently scored a hat-trick for his national team, he hadn’t expected this.

But now, the emotion uncontrollably spread across his brain, even his whole body.
