From Arsenal to the Ball God

Chapter 271: Chapter 84: Champions League Man of the Match! See You on the Field in the Future! Skills Upgraded!

However, there are still many reports that used large sections to praise his performance.....considered the top of the second tier.

Browsing through his fans on Facebook and Twitter, he saw that the fans on both social media platforms had reached nearly 5 million. His Instagram has also experienced a good increase recently.

He sent a message to Mendes, inquiring about his current social media advertising rate.

— ”80,000 pounds.”

Mendes replied instantly, he was probably still at some party.

80,000!

Far surpassing his weekly salary.

Ma’el was immediately a bit excited, he could feel his value skyrocketing.

Closer to that goal of a million pounds per post!

— ”Hasn’t anyone approached you?”

”Two companies did, one was a betting company and the other a maternal and child product company. They were too unsuitable so I didn’t take them.”

Maternal and child products?

Ma’el wore a puzzled expression, were these companies desperate, why chose him?

Mendes quickly provided his explanation— ”I don’t know, this category is inherently hard to find suitable star endorsements, maybe they think you have a lot of female fans and wanted to give it a try.”

— ”Alright, good call on rejecting them.”

Ma’el put down his phone, he wasn’t in a hurry for this; 80,000 pounds wasn’t much help for him currently.

You can’t accept every advertising invitation, you need to be selective.

He was just about to go to bed when he received another call, it was from Kevin Strom.

He picked up the phone, feeling both a bit helpless and curious, ”Kevin, lucky it’s a match day, or you would have woken me from sleep. What’s the good news?”

”Oh.....” Kevin’s voice carried some apology, ”I’m sorry, I just got back from the trend agency, and I have good news to tell you.”

”What is it?”

”Valuation has surpassed 200 million US Dollars, compared to when you invested, that’s about a 7-fold increase. We did really well in these six months.”

”200 million.... your kind of internet company, the market value increase speed is frightening, are you planning to raise more funds?”

”Not recently needed, but surely will in the future.....speaking of which, I must thank you a lot, even though I’m confident in my software, the traffic you brought in was crucial.”

”No problem, Instagram is now considered my company too, I occasionally use my influence to boost it.... if you are really thankful, consider my money first when refinancing.”

”.....” The line went silent for a long time, then Kevin Strom asked: ”Ma’el, how much do you earn per day now?”

”Salary is a few thousand pounds, but including club bonuses and end-of-year sponsorship bonuses, it should be around 20-25 thousand pounds? Or higher? I think it’s hopeful to earn 10 million US Dollars by season’s end.

”I’m also planning to acquire this 12 million pounds house around here.... but no rush, should be able to earn more next year.”

”Wotafa..... for someone who’s only 18, you’re making a lot. Okay, if there’s funding, I’ll contact you first thing, pleasure working with you.”

”Pleasure working with you.”

After hanging up, Ma’el turned off the lights and went to sleep, many wonderful things awaited him tomorrow.

...

The next morning upon waking, he first headed to a nearby photo developing shop, got some photos of Champions League goal moments developed, picked out two and placed them on the photo wall.

He had done match categorization before, but the Champions League column was empty.

Now, finally, it wasn’t!

After finishing these, he found always going to the photo shop inconvenient, so he bought a photo printer online for a few hundred pounds.

Such expenditure was no longer much for him now.

”Jose, let’s go.”

He waved at the technical coach Jose and drove to the training ground.

The next match was in three days, Arsenal would host Shrewsbury in the third round of the English League Cup.

This was a nearly one-sided confrontation, a Premier League giant wouldn’t lose to a League Two team, even with a full backup lineup.

After the last match, Wenger told Ma’el he would be granted a rest for this match, he would not be in the match roster.

Meaning, from today until playing Bolton Wanderers on September 24th, he could train continuously for six days.

”Thud... thud... thud...!”

The monotonous and boring training day started once more, Ma’el was used to it, but couldn’t avoid the natural laziness of people, still felt a sense of pain.

Fortunately, he had passed the incubation period and stood on the top stages, receiving strong feedback and satisfaction every week, able to persist in training with a calm mind.

Don’t forget your roots, you must remember what made you who you are today.

This phrase he had thought long ago but continued to remind and urge himself.

On September 20th, his Aerial Shot and Outside Foot Strike upgraded from Level 2 to Level 3.

[Skill: Aerial Strike Level 3]

[Skill Level: (3/800)]

[Utility: You have gained basic control over aerial shooting, with power and accuracy at a professional level, eagerly looking forward to the day of achieving a higher standard.]

[Skill: Outside Foot Arc Level 3]

[Skill Level: (2/800)]

[Utility: After long practice, you can use the outside of your foot to create beautiful arcs, though the power seems slightly lacking, you long for this ability to become more threatening.]

”Keep pushing!”

Ma’el didn’t put down these two skills, at least needing to practice them to Level 4, to use in Premier League and Champions League matches.

[Skill: Ball Control Level 3]

[Skill Level: (1495/2000)]

[Skill: Judging the Situation Level 3]

[Skill Level: (1812/2000)]

[Skill: Endurance Level 3]

[Skill Level: (1132/2000)]

[Skill: Rhythm Level 3]

[Skill Level: (692/1500)]

[Skill: Sticky Level 3]

[Skill Level: 587/800]

After glancing at the skill levels of other skills, he found many were approaching the upgrade threshold.

Looking forward to the future..... he couldn’t wait to know what level of strength he would possess at the end of the season.
