Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

”Keira, phone call.”

In a high-end makeup room, Angel sat in front of a makeup mirror, while the makeup artists were refining her look to showcase her beauty to the fullest.

Her manager, Sharon, handed the connected phone to her.

Angel reached out to take it and switched on the speakerphone, ”Speak.”

”Keira, I’m sorry, something came up at home, and I can’t come over for now. I’d like to resign. I don’t even want this month’s salary. By the way, I found a new assistant for you. She’s my friend, and she’ll...”

Before the woman could finish speaking, Angel rolled her eyes and directly hung up the phone.

She couldn’t remember how many assistants had left. In any case, no assistant stayed long with her, and this coming and going really annoyed her.

These words also reached Sharon’s ears. She took the phone from Angel but didn’t know what to say for a moment.

”What on earth is she doing? I’m about to take on a new project! And she pulls this on me? How do I have the time to train a complete rookie?” Angel fumed, her chest heaving slightly. ”Another clumsy one, I’ll lose my mind! How can I fully commit to filming?”

As a senior in the industry, Angel had the temperament of a diva. Her standards for the staff around her were particularly high, often being strict and harsh, causing many to be unable to bear it.

”Don’t get upset; collect yourself. We have to go to the Kingston Group for an interview soon,” Sharon reminded her. ”I’ll handle training the newcomer and help her get up to speed quickly.”

There was no other choice. Angel stopped complaining and closed her eyes, allowing the makeup artist to apply eyeshadow.

She instructed the makeup artist, ”Today’s look must be relatively pure. Don’t make it too flashy. I’ve read that novel, and the heroine is a character who’s pure and passionate.”

”Okay, Keira.” The makeup artist didn’t dare to be careless at all.

Angel also learned about the backgrounds of the second and third-ranked contenders. Both were still students; one had no acting experience, while the other had acted in a school drama with average reception.

Although their votes weren’t as high as hers, they would also be going to the Kingston Group today, and who would be the leading role wasn’t determined solely by votes.

At this moment, a girl walked into the glass hall and headed towards the artist activity center.

She had fair skin and long, smooth black hair.

Wearing a fitted beige long sleeve top paired with a black skirt, she carried some documents in her hand. Upon seeing a staff member approaching, she smiled and asked, ”Could you please tell me where Miss Angel is?”

”First room to the left on the second floor.”

”Thank you.” The girl bowed slightly to express her gratitude, displaying good breeding and politeness.

She headed toward the elevator.

Her skin was so fair it seemed to reflect light, giving off a cool aura. She lightly pressed her lips into a semblance of a smile.

She was very beautiful, not in a common way, but quite distinctive, particularly her eyes, which were mesmerizing even without makeup.

She arrived on the second floor, turned left, and at the first makeup room, she instantly saw Angel sitting in front of a makeup mirror.

She knocked on the door before stepping inside. ”Hello, Miss Keira, I’m...”

”The new assistant, right?”

”Yes.”

”Got it.”

”...”

Angel didn’t seem particularly welcoming, and the girl just stood to the side, saying nothing, the trace of a smile still on her lips.

Half an hour later.

The fully made-up Angel got into a car headed for the Kingston Group.

She sat in the middle, with her manager, Sharon, on her left, and the new assistant on her right.

When Angel wasn’t smiling, she exuded an aura of cold elegance, making her seem hard to please and unapproachable.
