Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

So that’s it... a sister?

Because this explanation was reasonable, Catherine relaxed her guard and smiled, ”No wonder she looks so pure and makes people feel comfortable. In that case, shall we go first? Let’s not wait for her.”

”Okay.”

Then everyone started walking again, even Julie, who was always perceptive, set aside her suspicions.

Prince Louis’s inner guard would not easily let someone close, Julie was a bit worried that this girl might face rejection.

At that moment, inside the palace not far away, servants were placing pots of flowers and plants into the courtyard.

Many were also being moved indoors.

Ian Shelby stood at the desk in the side hall, the drawer was open, he held an old photograph in his hand, and his melancholic gaze fell on the little girl in the picture.

This was a photo taken twenty years ago.

In the photo, his frail self was holding the fair-skinned and cute Princess Annie, who was only three years old at that time, her teeth not yet fully grown, smiling with two small dimples, particularly sweet.

The photo was taken in the summer, the chubby little sister wearing a suspender skirt, on her exposed right shoulder were two distinct moles.

On her right hand, she wore a bracelet woven from red string, the kind that could adjust in length.

The little sister was very playful, he remembered that whenever she wore any jewelry, she always pulled off the diamonds, perhaps a child’s skin is too delicate and they simply don’t like wearing them.

Only this red string bracelet handmade by their father did she particularly like, even refusing to let the nanny remove it when bathing.

Looking at his sister’s smiling face, Ian Shelby’s heart was overwhelmed with longing again.

He took out another, identical red woven bracelet from the drawer, except the pendant was engraved with the character ”happiness.”

Also handmade by their father, hoping the siblings could be happy for life.

Holding the photo in one hand and touching his own bracelet with the other, Ian Shelby’s thoughts began to drift far away...

Sister, where are you?

When Princess Annie was three, on the day she disappeared, their father and mother took disguise with him and his sister as commoners and went out of the palace, to play at a family amusement park.

The entire day was exceptionally joyful, just like a usual family of four, without a guard team following, nor any restrictions.

They ate many foods favored by commoners that they had never had in the royal family before.

By around nightfall, when they passed a bouncy castle, his sister’s gaze was deeply attracted.

Mother and father decided to let him take his sister up to play.

The castle was tall and soft, the favorite cartoon image for children.

He was taking care of his three-year-old sister the whole time, when everyone was playing incredibly joyfully, suddenly there was a power outage.

The inflatable castle powered by electricity immediately began to deflate, all the children on it directly fell down, their panicked screams echoing in the air.

At that moment, he realized something bad was happening and reached out to grab his sister, but she rolled down with the sinking air mattress...

”Annie!! Annie!!” At that moment, he was petrified.

As he followed down the slide, his sister’s figure had already disappeared, many children were injured, cries, shouts, and parents’ panic, particularly noisy!

”Annie! Annie!!”

He went mad searching at that time, his throat turned hoarse from shouting, paying no attention to his own injured arm.

Father and mother were frantic too, everyone was searching for their child.

Cries, shouts, piece by piece... echoed in the ears.

But after two hours, no one found a trace of his sister.

In those two hours, because of the bouncy castle accident, five young children were lost.

Later investigation revealed, this was a premeditated human trafficking case, father dispatched many troops to search for these five children, following the clues, they retrieved four, but his sister was completely lost.

From that year forward, father amended the laws of Lorelei, sentencing human traffickers to death, executed immediately if evidence was sufficient.
