Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Taylor realized something was off today, so he focused, ”What’s going on? Did something happen?”

”Don’t be so inattentive,” the woman raised her eyes and asked disdainfully, ”Can you show a bit of concern?”

”Why should I be concerned?” Taylor laughed.

He sat casually on the sofa, ”It’s been said that Father is gravely ill, I’ve heard that since early years till now, and isn’t he still alive and kicking?”

”Besides, even if Father dies, isn’t the throne naturally mine? Can Eden take it? Can Arthur take it?” Taylor didn’t care about the two of them at all.

”With Father alive, our family is complete, so no matter what, I don’t need to worry about anything. I actually wish Father a long life right now!” Taylor took a sip of tea and then laughed heartily, ”You can also be assured, the position of Queen Dowager is yours, it’s just a matter of time.”

Catherine listened throughout without interrupting him. If she had heard these words before, she wouldn’t have taken them seriously, as there was some logic to them.

However, the current situation was clearly different. The King secretly brought back Louis without even discussing it with her, the Queen Consort.

Clearly, the King’s attention was still on the elder son.

”Louis has returned.” Catherine spoke lightly, observing her son’s expression.

”Louis? Who’s Louis?” Taylor was completely oblivious; he met his mother’s gaze and saw the seriousness in her eyes. He paused for a moment, quickly regaining his focus, ”Louis?” Then the name appeared in his mind, not entirely unfamiliar.

Catherine didn’t respond, just looked at him seriously, hoping he’d take it seriously.

Taylor looked unconvinced, ”Prince Louis?” He asked his mother again, ”Elsa’s son with Father? The eldest of the royal family?”

”Yes.” Catherine’s gaze deepened, ”He’s back to claim the throne, right in your father’s palace.”

”...” Taylor was stunned, how could that be?

Catherine told him, ”And your father has ordered no one can enter or leave the palace without his permission.”

”...” Taylor was shocked; the situation was serious.

But then he calmed down and chuckled in disbelief, ”How is that possible? What proof is there that he’s Father’s son? Where is this person? Does anyone recognize him?”

”I haven’t seen him, but they say it’s true.”

”They?” Taylor sneered, ”Who are they? Eden? Or Arthur?”

Catherine couldn’t answer, but the information Julie received couldn’t be wrong.

”How many years has Louis been away from the royal family? Father’s been ill for so long and he never returned, not once. Doesn’t this mean he’s given up the throne? Why come back now?”

”He’s returned to inherit the throne, and it was your father who brought him back,” Catherine didn’t want to waste words with her son, ”so you can’t be complacent like before; we can’t afford to be careless. There are two princes, but only one throne.”

”...” Taylor fell silent, shocked and a little unable to adapt to the situation for a moment.

As a prince, who doesn’t want to inherit the throne?

Inheriting the throne not only means supreme power but also inheriting all of Father’s wealth as the new king.

That’s unmeasurable wealth, so there has always been fierce competition in the royal family.

”No...” Taylor suddenly spoke; while not outstanding academically, he wasn’t foolish either.

He seemed to think of something and looked up, ”Mother, I feel something’s fishy about this. Louis has been gone for so many years, Father might not even recognize him, right? How can we be sure he’s Louis?”
