Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Ian Shelby heard these words, his face was calm and his heart was unwavering, he had no interest in royal succession.

But he was concerned about the whereabouts of his sister, Princess Annie... Missing for so many years, where is she? Is she dead or alive?

The King laid his eyes on Ian Shelby, his gaze a bit stern, also a bit cold, staring at him unblinkingly, feeling a little annoyed by this expression.

And everyone was waiting for the King’s answer.

”Yes.” The King’s voice was cold and deep, he said, ”If Prince Louis insists on giving up his inheritance rights, then Princess Annie is the first heir. If Princess Annie also gives up, then Prince Taylor will become the first heir.”

What’s going on?

Catherine almost wanted to curse!

So it seems, Taylor is third in line?

Princess Annie? Everyone looked at each other, unable to help but whisper among themselves.

If the King hadn’t brought it up, most people might have forgotten this character’s existence. Princess Annie disappeared at the age of three during an outing, since then Queen Elsa fell ill... and ultimately passed away in sorrow.

Louis was found after leaving the royal family for years, what if one day this Princess Annie returns too!

Then Taylor’s position would be even more precarious.

Making Catherine, as a mother, feel anxious, as if she had taken a blow to the head!

The King’s health was poor, not suitable for prolonged sitting, and moreover, gathering everyone today, the necessary identifications and announcements have been made.

So the King glanced at everyone and spoke again, ”Dismiss, go about your business, Louis stay behind, the rest can leave.”

Catherine wanted to say something but refrained, as everyone saluted and withdrew, starting to walk outside.

Before leaving, Catherine and Taylor deliberately gave Ian Shelby a look to remember this top enemy’s appearance.

Eden noticed the expressions of this mother and son pair, and after everyone left, he, along with Arthur, also stepped outside.

The palace gates closed, leaving only King Bertie and the Shelby father and son in the vast space.

Bertie sat in his chair, still looking imposing, staring heavily at the paternity test report in his hand, the next second, he tore the report into pieces, ”I’m sorry, I just wanted everyone to be convinced, after all, you’ve been gone too long.”

In fact, he recognized his son.

Similarly, Ian Shelby could recognize him at a glance, his father still looked like he did in his youth, only now much older.

The King tore the paternity test, and as he stood, he waved the pieces upwards, they floated down like snow onto Ian Shelby’s hair and shoulders.

The air was instantly filled with a sense of desolation.

Ian Shelby bent his knees, kneeling before the King, ”I’m sorry, father, I’ve worried you all these years.” He felt deep remorse.

”You’re just too headstrong!” The King felt a mix of love, pain, and compassion for him, ”How could you disappear so heartlessly for so many years?”

Ian Shelby softly replied, ”I hate the royal disputes, I wished for an ordinary life.”

”So ordinary that you don’t even want your father?” The King nearly burst with anger, his cold eyes stared at him, his face contorted with pain.

”...” He was speechless in response.

”If your uncle hadn’t found your whereabouts, were you planning not to attend even my funeral?!”

The King was heartbroken, ”I remarried, but it was also five years after your mother’s passing! I am a man, you should...”

”I can understand this.” Ian Shelby looked up, sincerely interrupting him, ”Please also stop blaming yourself for this matter, your happiness is, of course, my wish.”

”Louis...”

For a moment, the King didn’t know what to say, he couldn’t accept his son’s disappearance for so many years, ”I loved your mother, I love you, I love Annie, but you all left me... Have you ever thought I am also a person of flesh and blood and feelings? Have you ever considered the long nights filled with my concerns and longings?”

Ian Shelby could not refute his father’s accusations, he hung his head low, his brow furrowed deeply, feeling profoundly troubled.
