Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Janelle Mills quickly picked up her bowl and handed him a pair of chopsticks, then sat down beside him.

This was Trevor’s first time eating spicy hotpot; he wasn’t picky about it at all. Instead, he seemed to have an appetite, enticed by the aroma.

Janelle glanced at him curiously; his features were really handsome. Eight words instantly popped up in her mind: graceful and extraordinary, otherworldly and peerless.

Sensing the girl’s gaze, Trevor turned his eyes, ”...” Their gazes met.

”Have you ever had spicy hotpot before?” she asked softly, withdrawing her infatuated look.

Trevor shook his head, ”No.” He looked at her, then withdrew his gaze, took some into his mouth with chopsticks, and recalled some past memories he wasn’t too eager to share with her.

Growing up, he had to take a lot of medicine and had many dietary restrictions, strictly following a nutritionist’s regimen.

Not to mention eating spicy hotpot, he had never even seen it.

”I eat it often.” Janelle Mills smiled while eating and sharing with him, ”But my mom doesn’t allow it, she thinks it’s unhygienic.”

Trevor said, ”Should eat less.”

”I won’t listen to her, but I’ll listen to you!” she said half-joking, half-serious, ”I’ll eat it less from now on.”

Trevor looked at her again with a gentle and calm expression.

Janelle Mills shared with him, ”I always thought that life’s pleasures should be timely, so whenever I travel and encounter something I like, I always try it! After all, food is the paramount necessity of the people.”

As she spoke and ate, she always had an urge to share when she was with him.

Trevor actually envied her life a bit. Although she also lacked a father’s love, she at least had a mother’s love and a worry-free childhood.

As they talked and finished the spicy hotpot, they both couldn’t help but think of Jocelyn Morgan.

After all, finding Jocelyn is currently the most important thing; they have been searching for so long without any leads, and everyone is in a heavy mood.

”Do you think...” Janelle Mills tidied the table, suddenly feeling very sad, ”Is Jocelyn dead?”

Trevor had thought about this question and fell silent.

Until she stopped her actions, turned her eyes to him, looking like she was waiting for his answer.

”I think both possibilities exist.” Trevor objectively analyzed, ”It’s just that since we haven’t found a body, we prefer to think she is still alive.”

But actually if we continue searching, the possibility of finding a body is also very high.

Janelle Mills remained silent, a hint of sadness in her eyes as she continued tidying up, ”She was indeed pushed down, the river’s water is so deep, and you could drown in just a few minutes.” She had just experienced it herself and was still haunted by the fear.

”...” Trevor also knew this, he just didn’t dare to face it.

Such a vibrant person, in the prime of their life, did they really die just like that?

Silence... heightened the sorrow that permeated the air.

The rain outside gradually subsided.

Janelle Mills threw the packed trash into the bin and stood by Trevor, who was sitting on the sofa, looking up at her.

Trevor said, ”Shall we go out and have a look?”

”Mhm.” Janelle Mills nodded, she was also very concerned.

Just as Trevor stood up and started to walk out, she noticed blood seeping from his back, staining his white shirt so vividly!

”You’re bleeding?!” Janelle Mills covered her mouth with a trembling voice, her face turning pale! Her delicate eyebrows involuntarily furrowed.

Trevor paused his steps and finally felt the sticky sensation on his back, turning his eyes to look over his shoulder but seeing nothing.

”How did you get hurt?!” Janelle Mills was terrified, her face full of anxiety and concern, ”Does it hurt? You, you, sit down quickly! I’ll help you treat the wound first!” Then she hurriedly searched for the first aid kit, almost tripping over the coffee table as she turned around.
