Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Then, Trevor led Janelle toward the guesthouse he had booked in advance.

Because it was late at night, even though there were lights, visibility wasn’t as good as during the day.

As they descended the steps, ”Watch out for the steps.” Trevor proactively reached out and held her hand tightly.

For the first time in those fifteen hours, his heart returned to focusing on Janelle.

Janelle’s chest tightened slightly, unsure if she felt sadness or joy. She turned her gaze to him, then followed his pace.

His face was strikingly handsome, his looks could surpass any male star in showbiz.

Her hand was held tightly within his palm, their warmth intertwined. Considering that she was wearing heels, he slowed his pace and didn’t let go even after they descended the steps.

For a second, Janelle felt it was unreal.

Trevor led her toward The Riverside Inn not far away.

Her eyebrows lightly furrowed, her mood was calm like still water, neither sad nor happy. She truly was exhausted, both physically and a bit emotionally too.

The navigation ended.

Trevor stopped and said to the girl beside him, ”This is it.” Then he looked up to verify the sign once more.

Because this whole row consisted of different guesthouses, each entrance almost identical.

”Hmm.” Janelle also looked up and noted the name of the guesthouse, as well as its distinguishing feature; only here were two lush pots of pennywort placed to the left and right.

Trevor pushed open the glass door with his other hand, ”Watch out for the steps.” He led her inside.

In the bright indoor light, he held her hand, looking every bit like a happy couple.

The innkeeper immediately came around from the cashier’s desk with a smile, handing over a room card, ”Mr. Garcia, here’s your room card, 303.”

He let go of Janelle and reached out to take it, ”Just one card?”

”Isn’t one card enough for two people?” the innkeeper responded with a smile, ”I thought you’d be coming and going together; the security hasn’t been great lately. But I can provide another card if needed.”

Saying this, he started to turn around to get another card, but Trevor grabbed his shoulder, stopping him.

Trevor’s brows furrowed slightly, ”You mean... you only booked one room for us?”

The innkeeper glanced at the two of them, puzzled, ”...” Speechless, they just walked in hand-in-hand, shouldn’t a couple book one room?

What couple on vacation stays separately?

Janelle felt a bit awkward, she stood beside him, pursing her lips, saying nothing.

Trevor told the innkeeper, ”Get us another room.”

”Ah?” The innkeeper looked surprised, quickly regaining his composure, and apologetically said, ”I’m sorry, all the rooms are occupied, there are no vacancies.”

Hearing this, Janelle turned her gaze to Trevor, and he also glanced at her, then quickly looked out the door.

At this point, the innkeeper told him, ”Mr. Garcia, there aren’t any rooms available along this entire street. Trust me, in a few days there will be a grand food festival here, drawing foodies from all over.”

”...” Trevor’s expression remained calm.

He regretted not booking two rooms initially.

Reservations now require IDs, and at the time he didn’t have her ID number, assuming he could add it later, but Jocelyn Morgan’s issues had delayed things.

Janelle stood for a while, her legs really sore and tired, she just wanted to sleep.

Trevor turned his gaze, gently stroked her head, ”So... let’s make do for tonight?” He glanced at her legs, ”You must be very tired, you sleep on the bed, I’ll take the sofa.”

She pressed her lips, lowered her gaze, not refusing.

Thinking, what other choice is there? The situation is what it is.

Seeing her not refuse, Trevor asked the innkeeper, ”Do you have any medicine for bruises or sprains?”

”Yes.” The innkeeper quickly turned to get it.

Trevor took the bottle of medicine, ”I’ll return it tomorrow, thanks.” Then he took Janelle’s hand again, leading her up the wooden stairs.

Janelle felt bittersweet and warm inside, no longer calm. She didn’t quite dare to look into his eyes.

His palm was so warm, possessing a kind of mysterious strength.
