Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 940: Chapter 940: Stating Their Stance to the Hale Family

”Madam...”

Sister May held the phone and answered truthfully, ”The official media has not made any authoritative release on this matter, and nothing has been reported for now.”

Paige seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

At this moment, Sister May added, ”However, some netizens are discussing it. They think since the mayor is like this, how could he not have a mistress? It’s very unusual.”

No authoritative report, does that mean it doesn’t exist?

Paige also doubted, feeling uneasy in her heart.

But she also hoped that the unbearable scene would never be reported, otherwise, someone who always believed in love like her wouldn’t be able to bear it.

Soon, the doorbell rang, surprising everyone inside.

Sister May looked up and saw the curtains were drawn thick, so nothing could be seen.

”Weren’t the reporters driven away? Who could it be?” Sister May muttered and then stepped towards the door.

Peeking through the surveillance, Sister May did not ask for instructions and quickly opened the living room door.

”Hello, Mr. Morgan, hello, Mrs. Morgan.” She greeted respectfully.

Everett Morgan and Jasmine nodded slightly, ”Hello.” Then they stepped into the living room.

At this moment, Paige stood up from the sofa, ”...” She really didn’t expect them to come.

Paige’s face was slightly pale, and she suddenly worried about her daughter’s marriage. What was their purpose in coming here?

”In-laws.” Jasmine came over to hold her hand with a sad expression, ”This sudden incident, I really want to share some of your burden, but I’m powerless. I just want to advise you, even though it’s distressing, you must take care of your health.”

”Thank you...” Paige regained her composure; the visitors were so kind.

At this moment, Sister May turned around and went to make tea.

Everett Morgan glanced around the living room and asked softly, ”Where are Finn Morgan and Hailey? I just saw the car parked outside.”

”They are upstairs,” Paige replied.

He nodded thoughtfully, ”Oh.”

Then everyone sat downstairs for a while; Jasmine offered some words of comfort and shared a cup of tea together.

Before leaving, Jasmine said to Paige, ”I’d like to go upstairs and check on the kids, if that’s okay?” She sought his opinion very politely.

”Of course.”

Jasmine got up to look at Sister May, ”Take good care of Mrs. Hale, thank you for your hard work.”

Sister May nodded.

Then Everett Morgan and Jasmine went upstairs together; Hailey’s bedroom door was not locked, just closed.

Jasmine knocked on the door, ”Finn Morgan? Are you in there?”

Is that Mother’s voice?

Finn Morgan was slightly taken aback and quickly got up to open the door, ”Mom, Dad, why are you here?”

As the door opened, those outside saw Hailey sitting by the window.

Her lonely and helpless appearance made Jasmine feel a slight pang in her chest; she quickly brushed past her son to go inside, ”Hailey, why are you sitting on the floor? The floor is so cold! Come, come, get up quickly!”

Hailey slowly came back to her senses at the sound; she raised her tearful eyes, ”Mom...” Her throat was somewhat hoarse, then she looked at Everett Morgan, ”Dad.”

Jasmine bent down to help her up, ”Hailey, get up, don’t sit on the floor; it’s not good for your health, especially for girls.”

Hailey stood up, not wanting the elders to worry.

But she heard her mother-in-law scolding Finn Morgan, ”How are you taking care of her? Do you not pay attention to these details? At least have her sit on the sofa. Do you think just being with her is enough?”

”Mom, it’s not his fault,” Hailey quickly explained, ”I’m the one who didn’t listen; he already advised me.”

In her hurry to speak, Hailey got a slight headache, ”I want to sleep for a bit, so I won’t accompany you.”

”Alright, alright, it’s Dad and Mom who won’t bother you then; you must have a good rest, be good!”

Jasmine reached out and hugged her, ”Hailey, you must pull yourself together; Finn Morgan will be with you during this time, and we are all your strongest support.”

Jasmine’s words clearly showed her stance.
