Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Justin Kingston’s Kindness and Righteousness

”Why aren’t you leaving?” Monica Usher looked at her, feeling a warm current flow through her heart.

Mrs. Goldman was sent by Justin Kingston to check on the situation. Without instructions from her superior, she couldn’t leave.

”Where would I go?” Mrs. Goldman replied softly, ”One must act with a clear conscience. Money is just superficial. You’re weak and pregnant. If you get hungry at night, who will cook for you?”

These words brought tears to Monica Usher’s eyes.

The once strong career woman felt a pang in her nose, struggling to control her overwhelming emotions, and unexpectedly reached out to hug Mrs. Goldman.

Mrs. Goldman was stunned for a moment before slowly lifting her hands.

With teary eyes, Monica Usher leaned her head on her shoulder, having been through such difficult times that even the servants bullied her!

At this moment, a little warmth was enough to move her deeply.

”Mrs. Goldman...” Monica Usher murmured, ”Thank you.”

”It’s the least I could do; I was once a mother too.” Mrs. Goldman patted her on the back, ”Don’t think too much. Take care of yourself and deliver the baby safely.”

”Okay...”

”What do you want to eat?” Mrs. Goldman released her and asked, ”I’ll make it for you now.”

Monica Usher looked at her, tears in her eyes, ”I want to eat zongzi.”

”...” Mrs. Goldman thought for a moment, ”I’ll see if there’s any glutinous rice at home. Do you prefer sweet or savory flavors?”

”Plain, not sweet or salty. But are there any zongzi leaves?”

”I’ll figure it out,” said Mrs. Goldman, ”You get some rest first, I’ll make a call and check.”

”Alright.”

Monica Usher didn’t want her to see her looking so disheveled and exhausted, ”I’ll go up and take a bath first.”

”Be careful and make sure you don’t fall.”

”I will.”

Turning towards the stairs, every word of concern turned into a warm current flowing into Monica Usher’s veins.

Watching her figure disappear around the corner of the stairs.

Hearing the footsteps fade away.

Mrs. Goldman felt assured and went into the kitchen, gently closing the glass door. She took out her phone and called Justin Kingston.

”Hello, Mrs. Goldman.” Shortly, a deep and magnetic voice came through, ”What’s the matter?”

”CEO Kingston, I saw on the news that Lydia Ingram was arrested. The other servants have all run away because Lydia Ingram’s wages were unpaid, so they took some valuable items.”

”You’re the only one with Monica Usher?” Justin Kingston asked.

”Yes.”

Justin Kingston sighed lightly, furrowing his brow, ”I’ll cover the wages, take care of her until the baby is born.”

”Of course.” Mrs. Goldman reported further, ”She wants to eat zongzi. We need some fresh zongzi leaves. Could you arrange to send some over? She hasn’t eaten for a long time, vomiting whatever she eats. It’s hard for her to finally want something.”

”No problem, I’ll arrange it right away. Is there anything else?”

”No, sorry for disturbing you so late.” Mrs. Goldman was quite nervous.

”It’s alright.”

Justin Kingston was very easygoing, and he ended the call.

At this time, in the master bedroom of Emerald Cove, the night lamp was warm and yellow, and the evening breeze gently blew through the sheer curtains.

Mia Lane, wearing pajamas, lay by his side, listening clearly to the contents of the call.

”She wants to eat zongzi? Do they sell them outside?” Mia Lane asked softly, ”If they make them, it’ll take time. By the time Mrs. Goldman finishes making and cooking them, she might no longer want them; a pregnant woman’s appetite is very fickle.”

These words reminded Justin Kingston of when she was pregnant with Gigi and Dolly. His gaze lowered, caressing her soft hair, ”I’ll get someone to buy some.”

”Hmm.” Mia Lane understood deeply, not jealous at all, feeling very sympathetic toward Monica Usher.

Justin Kingston made a call to get this matter arranged.

”Mia, when you were pregnant with Gigi and Dolly, did you also have morning sickness?” Justin Kingston couldn’t help asking, ”Your hardships must have been doubled?” He felt very sorry for her.
