Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 874: Chapter 874: If We’re Going, Let’s Go Together

”Finn, please, I beg you, stay with Cindy a little longer...” Claudia’s voice was tinged with sadness, fearing he might hang up, ”Finn... after this month, Melissa won’t bother you anymore, she might not even last a month...”

Kind-hearted people generally wouldn’t remain unmoved by such sorrowful words.

Finn felt a deep sense of regret for Melissa’s fate.

”Aunt, please don’t let her be discharged from the hospital. Under the doctors’ watchful eyes, any emergency can be promptly dealt with,” Finn said to her.

But Claudia was only fixated on whether he would come, still crying and pleading.

”Alright.” Finn agreed, ”I’ll come by tomorrow morning and try to spend some time with her.”

”Thank you, Finn...” Claudia sincerely thanked him, then reluctantly hung up the phone.

Finn drove back home and it was already eight in the evening.

He stood by the living room window, held his phone, and thought about it. He couldn’t keep this from Hailey.

So, he dialed Hailey Hale’s number.

At this moment, Hailey was lying on her bed, staring at Finn’s poster with dreamy eyes, thinking his eyes were particularly beautiful.

The phone rang, she glanced down, and it was actually Finn!

A wave of joy rose from her heart, and she quickly answered and put the phone to her ear, ”Hey, Finn.”

”Are you asleep?” The man’s voice was warm and pleasant.

”It’s so early! Of course, I’m not asleep. Guess what I’m doing?”

”Thinking about me?” Finn asked nonchalantly.

Unexpectedly, he guessed right, and Hailey giggled foolishly, ”Are you at the office or off work now?”

”Just got back.” Finn sat down on the sofa, ”There’s something I need to talk to you about.”

”Go ahead.”

”Not long after we left, Melissa coughed up blood, and then she started to doubt her own health.”

Upon hearing this, Hailey sat up sharply, her ears pricked up!

Finn continued, ”She secretly went to the hospital by herself for a check-up, and now she knows about her illness.”

”Oh my God!”

Hailey could hardly believe it, ”Then she... must be feeling so hopeless, right?”

”Her mental state is definitely not good,” Finn told her, ”I got a call from Melissa’s mom. She hopes I can go back to Veridia tomorrow.”

”Do you have time?” Hailey said, ”If you have time, just go. Tell Justin about it, he’ll let you go!”

Hearing this, Finn felt a bit unhappy, ”Aren’t you going to stop me?”

”Stop you?” Hailey found this word quite novel, ”Why would I stop you?”

”You don’t care about me at all?” Finn felt a bit lost, ”Isn’t that right?”

”No, I do care about you!” Hailey chuckled, ”Letting you go and caring about you are two different things.”

”...” Finn couldn’t quite figure out what she was thinking.

”Come on, don’t overthink.” Hailey comforted him, ”I won’t doubt your feelings for me just because you go to accompany Melissa.”

”If you’re going, then we’ll go together.” Finn said, ”If you don’t go, then I won’t go either.”

This left Hailey with no choice, ”Fine, I’ll go with you.”

”Mm-hmm.”

Finn just didn’t want to create trouble for himself, didn’t want to affect his relationship.

After a brief chat, they said goodnight to each other.

Finn went to take a shower.

Hailey lay in bed tossing and turning, unable to sleep, feeling a bit anxious while holding the phone.

She couldn’t help but be envious of the time Melissa and Finn knew each other, envying their long companionship over the years, though it was just as friends.
