Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch

The jagged mountain ridges overlooking the northern border of the sovereign peninsula were shrouded in a thick, freezing blanket of grey fog that clung to the dark pine trees like frozen cobwebs.

There was no sound of birds or wind through the high alpine passes, only the heavy, rhythmic crunch of iron boots stepping over frost-covered stone and the low, mechanical hum of hydraulic servos straining against the steep incline.

Thorne led the advance up the narrow mountain trail, his two-ton heavy combat frame moving with a relentless, terrifying momentum that ignored the treacherous footing and the biting sub-zero temperatures.

The scorch mark left on his titanium chest plate by the enemy rail rifle during the failed medical ward infiltration had already been patched over with a fresh plate of dark star-iron, welded directly into his chassis by the automated foundry bays of District One.

Behind him, fifty heavy infantry construct units marched in absolute, unbroken synchronization, their dark obsidian plating absorbing the dim morning light while their heavy plasma cannons hummed with suppressed thermal energy.

Inside the tactical monitoring bunker three miles back at Sector Zero’s central command hub, Chief Quartermaster Miller watched the glowing red telemetry dots moving steadily across the topographical map of the northern pass.

”The phase-decryption keys extracted from Richter’s mind are opening every encrypted comms channel the European sleeper cells are using, Sovereign,” Miller reported over the internal tactical network, his voice steady and sharp as he monitored the data streams. ”We have located three separate forward observation posts hidden inside the abandoned mining tunnels overlooking our northern logistics highway.”

Renan sat in the quiet master observation gallery of the command center, his dark woolen coat buttoned tightly to his throat, his pale hands resting calmly over his knees.

The twin-chambered core within his ribs beat in a heavy, deliberate rhythm, radiating twenty-four thousand eight hundred units of core density through the room, stabilizing the atmospheric pressure and casting a faint, silvery-violet glow across the floor plates.

”The Swiss Banking Consortium thought they could buy a backdoor into our peninsula by scattering rats through the stone,” Renan spoke softly, his voice calm, level, and entirely devoid of warmth. ”Flush the tunnels, Miller. Leave nothing behind.”

High up in the northern mountain pass, Thorne stopped at the mouth of an abandoned iron ore mine whose rusted steel doors had been cleanly cut open with laser torches and resealed with magnetic locks.

Inside that dark, freezing cavern, twelve elite European reconnaissance hunters belonging to the Swiss Consortium’s black-ops reserve sat huddled around a small, smokeless chemical heater.

Wrapped in thermal blankets and wearing advanced optical camouflage suits, their leader, a veteran German hunter named Marcus, stared anxiously at his encrypted satellite transceiver.

”Vane’s team went silent in Paris, and now Richter’s infiltration squad has missed two consecutive check-in windows,” Marcus muttered, his face pale and drawn under the harsh green glare of his tactical display. ”The entire European network is collapsing faster than the Swiss stock exchange.”

Beside him, a younger scout adjusted the dial of a directional acoustic sensor pointing toward the valley below.

”The sensor arrays are picking up heavy seismic vibrations on the lower mountain road,” the scout whispered, his hands trembling slightly on the rubber grips. ”Footsteps. Heavy footsteps. But our perimeter motion detectors didn’t register a single human signature crossing the outer ridge.”

Before Marcus could issue an order to arm their heavy weapons, the rusted steel doors of the mine shaft did not swing open or unlock.

They exploded inward in a chaotic shower of jagged iron shards and white-hot metallic dust.

Thorne stepped through the ruined doorway, his massive eight-foot frame filling the entire width of the mine tunnel, his single amber optic sensor blazing with an aggressive, blinding crimson light that cut through the chemical heater smoke like a searchlight.

”Intruders in the restricted northern zone,” Thorne’s deep, synthesized mechanical voice reverberated off the damp limestone walls, shaking loose pebbles from the cavern ceiling. ”Surrender your physical remains immediately.”

Marcus leaped to his feet, kicking his chemical heater aside as he drew a heavy anti-materiel revolver loaded with explosive runes.

”Fire! Open fire!” Marcus screamed, raising his weapon and pulling the trigger.

The twelve European hunters reacted with the desperate training of elite operatives, raising their rifles and releasing a synchronized volley of plasma rounds and high-explosive energy bolts straight toward Thorne’s chest.

The narrow confines of the mine tunnel filled instantly with a blinding flash of white light and a concussive wall of heat and noise.

The dozen projectiles slammed into Thorne’s thick star-iron armor with deafening crashes, scorching the rock walls and filling the air with the thick, acrid smell of ionized sulfur and burnt wiring.

When the smoke cleared, Thorne was still standing in the exact same spot, his massive boots firmly anchored to the stone floor.

His outer armor was blackened by soot, but not a single plasma round had penetrated the Abyssal Soul Forge plating protecting his internal reactor.

”Calculated damage: zero point four percent,” Thorne rumbled, raising his right arm.

Before the astonished hunters could reload or cycle their weapons for a second volley, Thorne’s heavy plasma cannon discharged a single, concentrated beam of superheated blue energy down the length of the mine tunnel.

The energy beam did not incinerate the men. It washed over them like a wave of physical pressure, neutralizing their mana channels, short-circuiting their tactical suits, and rendering every single hunter instantly paralyzed as they dropped heavily onto the cold stone floor.

Thorne stepped over the paralyzed bodies of the elite scouts, his massive magnetic boots crunching over spent shell casings as he walked to the back of the mine shaft where their communication array was set up.

”Northern observation post alpha is neutralized,” Thorne reported into his tactical comms link, lifting the heavy satellite transmitter from the table with one hand and crushing it into scrap metal between his steel fingers. ”The twelfth infiltrator is secured.”

Down in the southern mountain foothills, two other European observation posts suffered the exact same fate within the span of fifteen minutes.

Shadow Knight Arthur and a detachment of twenty shadow skirmishers swept through the secondary tunnels like a silent storm of void-steel and silver dragon-flame, disarming the remaining sleeper cells without allowing a single sniper or scout to transmit a distress signal back to Geneva.

By midday, the entire northern perimeter of the sovereign peninsula had been thoroughly cleansed of foreign operatives, leaving the mountain passes as quiet and secure as the inner vaults of Sector Zero.

Inside the central command hub, Sylas stood before Renan’s leather chair, holding a high-density data pad displaying the final confirmation logs from Arthur and Thorne.

”The European sleeper cells across the northern border have been entirely eradicated, Sovereign,” Sylas reported, his voice crisp and precise as his optical visor flickered with green status checkmarks. ”Not a single radio transmission escaped the valley, and the Swiss Banking Consortium’s local command relay has gone permanently dark.”

Renan stood up from his chair, buttoning the top collar of his dark woolen coat, his violet eyes calm and unhurried as he adjusted his cuffs.

”They tried to reach our nursery with ghosts, Sylas,” Renan spoke softly, his voice carrying an absolute, unyielding resonance that filled the room. ”Now they will watch their own houses burn from across the sea.”

Boss Victor walked into the master observation gallery from the briefing alcove, holding a thick leather folder stamped with the red seal of the global logistics bureau.

”The supply trains are locked and loaded for the Eurasian steppes, Sovereign,” Victor announced, tossing the folder onto the central table with a heavy thud. ”Jean-Luc has forty armored trucks lined up at the Marseilles staging node, ready to push our economic monopoly straight into the heart of Central Europe while the Swiss bankers are still recovering from the shock of our Tokyo vault heist.”

Renan looked down at the red-sealed folder, then raised his gaze toward the wide observation window facing the northern peaks where the grey fog was slowly parting to reveal the clear, sharp line of the horizon.

”We are finished playing defense in the shadows, Victor,” Renan commanded, his voice dropping into a tone of supreme, irreversible finality. ”Prepare the primary diplomatic transmission lines. We are going to send a direct wire to the World Council in Geneva.”

Sylas’s eyes flashed with sharp, eager crimson light as his fingers flew across his tactical gauntlet to open the encrypted global broadcast frequencies.

”The Geneva Council chambers are in session right now, Sovereign,” Sylas noted, a thin, sharp smile touching his lips. ”Every high-ranking official, regional guild master, and surviving World-Class Hunter is currently sitting at the central table.”

Renan walked toward the silver communication console at the front of the gallery, his dark woolen coat sweeping past the steel floor plates.

He placed his bare right hand directly upon the cold metal surface of the broadcast terminal, letting the twin-chambered core in his chest resonate through the global satellite grid.

”Open the channel,” Renan ordered.

Across the secure, impenetrable fiber-optic and satellite networks connecting every capital city on earth, the private screens and primary chamber displays in the World Council headquarters in Geneva flickered simultaneously.

The green security seals of the United Nations and the blue emblems of the International Guild Alliance dissolved into a deep, solid field of light-devouring obsidian blackness.

In the center of the dark screen, four inches wide and burning with an unearthly, cold brilliance, the crest of the Ominous Monarch ignited like a brand.

Inside the grand amphitheater of the World Council in Geneva, Supreme Director Van Houten leaped to his feet from his leather chair, his face turning the color of chalk as he stared at the dark screen, his trembling hands gripping the edge of the mahogany podium.

Before Van Houten could shout an order to cut the feed, a voice—calm, level, absolute, and carrying the merciless weight of twenty-four thousand eight hundred units of core density—echoed directly inside the minds of every single leader sitting in the chamber.

”Your banks are empty, your vaults are bare, and your assassins are dead,” Renan’s voice spoke through the silent global broadcast, chilling the blood of every statesman and hunter elite in the room. ”The war you declared at our borders has ended. The war we bring to your doors is about to begin.”

The broadcast screen flickered once and went completely dark, leaving the leaders of human civilization sitting in absolute, paralyzing terror in the sudden, echoing silence of the Geneva chamber.
