Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door

Chapter 160: Chapter 160: Making a Post

Hua Buwan managed to safely escort every single child back home before their parents returned.

Well-fed and fully satisfied, the children hurried into their bathrooms as soon as they got home to wash off their makeup and change their clothes. Otherwise, if their grandparents and parents came home and saw them like that, they would definitely get a severe spanking. However, they had made a pinky swear with Sister Wanwan that they would never do such dangerous things again. They all took this promise to heart.

The next morning.

Hua Buwan had just opened the supermarket doors when she saw a group of energetic children standing outside. Seven of them? They looked a bit familiar. Oh, it was the little tykes from last night!

”Why are you here so early? Don’t you sleep in during summer vacation? Come in, come in, Sister Wanwan is open for business. What do you want to buy?” Seeing their normal, bare faces, Hua Buwan couldn’t help but pinch their little cheeks. They were such cute, adorable kids; there was no need for makeup when their natural looks were the best.

The children, however, shook their heads in unison. ”We aren’t here to buy anything.”

”Oh?” Hua Buwan paused, looking at them in confusion.

The kids stepped forward together, fishing out dollar bills and coins from their pants and shirt pockets before handing them to Hua Buwan.

”Sister Wanwan, we ate so much of your food last night but didn’t pay. We came specifically to pay you today.”

”Yeah, our parents told us that we have to pay when we take things from others. We can’t just eat and drink for free.”

”We were in such a rush when we went out last night that we forgot to bring money, so we came to find Sister Buwan bright and early today.”

”Don’t worry, Sister Buwan, it’s daytime now, so it’s very safe. Besides, we told our parents before we left. They know we’re here.”

”Yes, yes, we all told them. Don’t worry, Sister Wanwan, we’re being very good.”

Listening to the children chattering all at once, the look in Hua Buwan’s eyes grew increasingly affectionate. They were truly a group of good kids, thinking about paying her back first thing in the morning, even though she had explicitly told them the treats were on the house last night.

Since she had offered to treat them, she naturally wasn’t going to take their money. But with the children all shoving cash into her hands, she couldn’t bear to reject their good intentions. She simply said, ”Alright then, I’ll accept this. But yesterday’s snacks didn’t cost this much, so you can all take another small snack today.”

In reality, Hua Buwan had counted the money; the children were only holding a dollar or two each, adding up to just ten dollars—nowhere near enough to cover the snacks they had all eaten. But if she didn’t say that, the children probably wouldn’t be willing to take anything.

Sure enough, the moment she finished speaking, the kids cheered.

”Wow! We get another snack! I want this one!”

”Then I want this one!”

Hua Buwan only withdrew her gaze after watching them happily grab their snacks and head back together to play.

July was unbearably hot.

During the day, there was either blazing sun or pouring rain. The typhoons had not blown in yet; they were all making landfall in the small island country and couldn’t reach them here. However, July to October was generally the peak typhoon season in Lingnan, so Hua Buwan still wanted to be prepared.

Moreover, the same applied to Ling Qianjun’s side. The impact of a typhoon would be far more devastating over there, so she had to come up with countermeasures and response strategies for him as well.

Without delay, Hua Buwan went online to consult the vast brain trust of netizens, posting a thread: [Question: If you time-traveled to ancient Lingnan, how would you deal with a severe typhoon, and what preparations would you make?]
