Hijacking the Timeline

Star City Academy, Dorm 301.

After finishing lunch, Feng Qi returned to his dorm and sat at his desk, pondering the direction of his next Future Line.

He opened his notebook and began planning for the future.

This time, he abandoned the Future Line of confronting the Technology Research Institute.

He realized that until the ”Bloodline Switch” problem was resolved, even if he could alter the future by opposing the institute, he couldn’t prevent the ultimate destruction of human civilization.

Even if he destroyed the Technology Research Institute in this Future Line, led humanity to rapid advancement, and increased Star City’s population to millions or tens of millions within 1,500 years, it would all be futile.

As the Lord of the Mist had warned, the trap he had laid would remain effective regardless of humanity’s population size.

Once the Bloodline Switch was activated, all humans would become sustenance for the Lord of the Mist.

Therefore, addressing the internal threat took precedence over advancing human civilization.

Only by resolving the problem at its source could human civilization develop healthily, free from future worries.

The choice of a new Future Line had become critically important.

His psychokinesis surged forth, seizing the pen on his desk and guiding it across the notebook.

Moments later, two new Future Line options appeared on the page.

Future Line 1: Directly confront Old Wang about his future circumstances and leverage his potential changes to alter the future.

Note: If Old Wang is indeed the Lord of the Mist, revealing this to him could very likely lead to an early death.

However, exposing him would also allow me to confirm whether he is the Lord of the Mist.

Advantage 2: If I survive the confrontation, it would confirm that Old Wang was normal before joining the Tiger Soul Research Institute, significantly increasing the likelihood that the institute is the source of the problem.

Old Wang could then become my inside source within the Tiger Soul Research Institute, providing crucial information—essentially planting a spy within their ranks.

Note: During this period, I could also collaborate with the Scarlet Research Institute, leveraging their influence to investigate the Tiger Soul Research Institute.

I need to exploit every known resource to uncover future information, rather than pursuing a single-track approach.

Future Line 2: Survive by lying low, waiting for the opportune moment to join Mu Qing in forming the dawn rebels and make contact with Mu Yao.

Advantage: If I survive until the dawn rebels are formed, I’ll gain a wealth of useful information. I might even obtain Mu Yao’s contact information from the Real World, ensuring that in future timelines, Mu Yao and the Scarlet Research Institute will become my allies.

Disadvantage: Even if I play it safe and avoid risks, there’s still a chance of an early death due to unforeseen circumstances, leaving me with nothing to show for it.

Feng Qi sank into deep thought, weighing the two Future Lines.

The second Future Line carried immense risk, but its potential rewards were equally great.

He suspected Mu Yao knew the truth behind all the hidden secrets.

If he could make contact with her, the answers to many of his questions would undoubtedly be revealed.

However, reviewing historical records, his longest recorded lifespan was only 34 years.

By the time Mu Yao found Mu Qing and formed the Dawn Army, he would have been dead for countless years, likely achieving nothing.

After careful consideration, he decided to choose the first Future Line.

He would make contact with Old Wang, attempting to uncover the secrets of the Tiger Soul Research Institute and Old Wang himself.

During this time, he could also collaborate with the Scarlet Research Institute in various ways to investigate the Tiger Soul Research Institute.

Having made his decision, he opened a shopping website and spent 1.25 million credits to order the materials for brewing Clear Heart Wine.

Now, all that remained was to wait for the spirit materials to arrive, brew the Clear Heart Wine to replenish his energy progress bar, and enter the Dream Realm.

Glancing at the date in the lower right corner, he stood up, stretched, and left his dormitory.

It was already dusk outside.

The twilight deepened, the setting sun bleeding across the sky, painting the horizon crimson.

Walking along the lake in front of the dormitory building, he headed toward the academy’s main gate.

He greeted fellow students with a smile and a nod as he passed.

Exiting the academy, he hailed a taxi and set off toward his destination.

The hunt was about to begin.

Clear Wind Teahouse stood on the outskirts of Star City, its decor steeped in ancient charm.

Inside, there were no modern amenities—only square tables, wooden stools, and wooden plaques on the walls listing various tea names.

Built beside Mirror Moon Lake, the teahouse allowed patrons to savor their tea while enjoying the lake’s scenic beauty.

The lake’s crystal-clear waters reflected the vibrant green lotus leaves, which framed delicate pink lotus blossoms. A gentle breeze occasionally swept through, creating an atmosphere of serene comfort.

Three mischievous boys, fresh from school, sat on the teahouse’s second floor, gazing at Mirror Moon Lake as they sipped their tea and occasionally reached for the snacks on the table.

”Boss, why did you bring us here? I don’t even like tea,” the boy with glasses asked, looking puzzled at the leader, who was savoring his tea.

”This is a great place! My dad loves coming here to drink tea, fish, and enjoy the lake’s scenery. This is the mature lifestyle of a true elite—you should all learn from it.”

Hearing the leader’s words, the Glasses Boy and the chubby boy nodded in vague understanding, then frowned as they took another sip of tea.

At that moment, the leader of the boys spoke in a deep voice:

”Brothers, it’s time to discuss serious matters—the formation of the Destiny Organization.”

”We all share the same vision. The reason human society can’t advance more rapidly is the irrational allocation of resources. Too much is wasted on ordinary people who contribute nothing of value throughout their lives. I believe we should shoulder the responsibility of our era, fighting for the interests of our elite class. This, in turn, will drive the progress of human society.”

Little Fatty shook his head.

”Boss, you’re wrong. I asked my dad about this, and he said you’re just a stupid kid. He said human progress requires diversity. Elites will always be a minority, while ordinary people make up the majority.”

”To advance society, elites and commoners must stand together. By having the wealthy lead the way, we can uplift the entire human civilization, ensuring progress for all. Only then can society truly advance.”

”Your ideas will only exacerbate the conflict between ordinary people and the elite, thereby slowing down the progress of human civilization.”

Hearing Little Fatty’s words, the leader of the group slammed his fist on the table.

”Little Fatty, your dad doesn’t know a thing! Right now, humanity is being suppressed by the domain. If the domain hadn’t expanded so slowly, we would have been defeated long ago. Your dad’s outdated ideas only applied to the world before the cataclysm, when social harmony and development were paramount. But in this era, the elite must take the lead, or human civilization will be on the brink of collapse.”

As the leader spoke with such conviction, the hesitation gradually faded from the faces of Glasses Man and Little Fatty.

Finally, they nodded firmly.

”Boss, let’s do it your way. We need to change the structure of this society.”

”Then let’s start formulating the organization’s development plan. I believe this day will be recorded in history, and future generations will remember our sacrifices.”

Hearing these words, Little Fatty and Glasses Boy immediately grew excited.

Before the organization was officially established, the three young rebels began discussing the future development plans of the Destiny Association.

”I think we should recruit like-minded classmates at school and start expanding our Destiny Association from there,” Little Fatty proposed, voicing his idea first.

”I disagree. I think you all should be sent to those unregulated juvenile detention centers for electroshock therapy. That would be more appropriate.”

A discordant voice suddenly cut through the air.

The three troublemakers froze, turning to see Feng Qi standing nearby, a mischievous grin on his face as he listened to their discussion.

The moment Little Fatty saw Feng Qi, he instinctively stood up and clutched his buttocks, clearly traumatized by the brutal beating he had received earlier.

”This isn’t a good place to fight. Come outside with me,” Feng Qi said.

The Butterfly’s massive slaps were already gathering momentum, ready to stir up chaos in the river of time.

”Who do you think you are? You really think we can’t handle you? Security! There’s trouble here!”

The ringleader, quick-witted, immediately shouted, knowing there were security guards in the teahouse.

Hearing the commotion, a security guard rushed upstairs and glared sternly at Feng Qi.

”Sir, what’s going on here?”

”He’s trying to cause trouble and get violent with us,” the little boy explained.

Hearing this, the security guard’s expression shifted slightly as he turned to Feng Qi.

”Please leave now. This isn’t the place for you to cause a scene.”

”Excuse me, I’m just dealing with a few students,” Feng Qi replied, pulling out his Star City Academy teacher’s ID and handing it to the guard.

The guard took the ID and paused, surprised. ”These kids don’t look like Star City Academy students, do they?”

”No, but their thinking is problematic. I need to correct their behavior.”

”Just a moment.”

The guard pulled out his phone, logged into the Star City Academy’s official website, and opened the faculty directory to search.

When he saw Feng Qi’s profile at the bottom of the list, along with the ”Outstanding Contribution to Humanity Award” listed in his biography, his expression froze in surprise.

He respectfully returned the ID to Feng Qi, looking slightly embarrassed. ”My apologies for the interruption. Please continue.”

With that, the guard hurried downstairs, leaving the three troublemakers staring in stunned silence.

”Your turn. Are you coming with me, or do I kick you down the stairs?”

Faced with Feng Qi’s threat, the three brats instantly caved.

They couldn’t understand why this mysterious violent maniac had reappeared to disrupt their Destiny Association’s formation.

They had no doubt that if they didn’t back down now, this brute would actually kick them down the stairs.

Recalling the indiscriminate beating they’d received last time, their expressions turned fearful.

”Let’s go,” Feng Qi said again, turning to walk downstairs.

Without hesitation, the three brats stood up and obediently followed.

Outside the teahouse, by the lake, Feng Qi grabbed the ringleader by the scruff of his neck and unleashed a brutal barrage of ”Butterfly Consecutive Slaps” on his backside.

He refused to believe he couldn’t beat these brats into submission and crush their dreams of establishing the Destiny Association.

As his buttocks were being pummeled, the ringleader stubbornly refused to cry out, his face flushed crimson as he gritted his teeth in silence.

But under Feng Qi’s relentless assault, he finally broke down, bursting into tears.

Little Fatty and Glasses Boy, witnessing their leader’s ordeal, seemed to see their own impending fate reflected in his misery, their faces contorted with terror.

Driven by their ”brotherly loyalty,” they chose not to run.

Just as they had feared, after the leader was beaten to tears, Feng Qi turned The Butterfly’s massive maw toward them.

These three boys weren’t future propagators of the Destiny Association’s toxic ideology, but they were its founders. Without them, the Destiny Association wouldn’t exist in the future.

With his limited lifespan, Feng Qi couldn’t prevent the Destiny Association’s rise in the future. But he had the power to stop events unfolding in his own time.

These three troublemakers had to be changed.

This was a small but significant step toward clearing a stumbling block in the path of Human Civilization’s progress.

Finally, all three boys broke down, wailing in unison.

Feng Qi waved his hand and said sternly, ”I told you, if there’s a next time, I’ll be back. Why didn’t you believe me?”

”Now I’ll ask you again: do you still want to form the Destiny Association?”

The three spoiled boys, who had never been disciplined before, immediately shook their heads, admitting defeat. A deep-seated fear of Feng Qi had taken root in their hearts.

”I want you to remember this: ’elite’ is a title bestowed upon the exceptional by ordinary people. Their duty is to guide Human Civilization toward collective growth, not to hoard the vast resources entrusted to them by the masses, consolidate their own power, and then use that power to oppress the very people who granted it. Your entire premise is flawed from the start, understand?”

The three brats nodded decisively once more.

”Whether you’ve truly absorbed this or not, I don’t care. But if there’s a next time, I’ll be back.”

”If you still want to test me, I advise you to prepare yourselves mentally. It won’t end so easily again.”

”We won’t,” Little Fatty blurted out through sobs.

”I hope so.”

”I’ll let you off this time, but if fate wills it, we’ll meet again.”

With that, Feng Qi grinned, turned, and walked away.

He planned to consult the future database again for more information on the Destiny Association.

If further problems arose, The Butterfly’s slaps would show no mercy.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, twilight descended, and streetlights began to flicker on along the lake.

His figure receded into the distance.

Not long after Feng Qi left, the leader of the boys wiped away his tears.

”He’s just a stumbling block in our path to establishing the Destiny Association. We haven’t lost yet.”

Hearing this, Little Fatty shivered beside him.

”Boss, maybe we should give up. That guy’s really creepy. Changing the structure of human society isn’t something we have to do ourselves.”

”Yeah... a wise man knows when to cut his losses. Let’s just give up. I bet he’ll show up again no matter how many times we move. We can’t escape him.”

The leader couldn’t help but shiver at this.

”Alright... let’s put this on hold for now and go home.”

Under the fading sunset, the three young bullies limped away, supporting each other. Every few steps, they would grimace and groan in pain.

Remembering Feng Qi’s brutal beating, they couldn’t help but burst into tears again.

This day was destined to be etched in their memories forever.

Even now, they couldn’t fathom how the mysterious violent maniac had tracked them down again, despite changing locations. Once more, they endured a brutal, unexplained beating.

The three brats’ unwavering resolve finally crumbled under the relentless barrage of Butterfly Consecutive Slaps.

Their shifting mental state was like a single drop of water falling into the river of time.

The initial ripples spread outward, eventually coalescing into a colossal wave that would profoundly alter the future.

History itself was irrevocably changed.
