Hijacking the Timeline

Like Lin Ran, the other freshmen were baffled by Feng Qi’s decision to have Mu Qing challenge Liu Yue.

Liu Yue had demonstrated strength far surpassing his performance during the Freshman Intensive Training. Even Lin Ran, a senior, had been defeated. Sending Mu Qing, the class’s quietest member, to challenge him seemed like a guaranteed beating. If Liu Yue lost control, she might even get hurt.

Everyone was utterly bewildered by Feng Qi’s enigmatic move.

Noticing Liu Yue’s questioning gaze, Feng Qi smiled faintly. ”Liu Yue, give it your all.”

Hearing this, Lin Ran suddenly realized something and whispered, ”Brother Qi, could it be... is Senior Sister Mu Qing really that strong?”

Across the arena, Liu Yue also sensed Mu Qing’s hidden potential. He nodded to Feng Qi before turning to Mu Qing. ”Senior Sister Mu Qing, let’s begin.”

Mu Qing looked nervous, still worried about accidentally hurting Liu Yue.

When she didn’t move, Liu Yue frowned slightly. With a swift gesture, sword energy coalesced into a blade, which he thrust sharply toward Mu Qing.

A white sword energy surged toward Mu Qing, and the onlookers widened their eyes, curious about how she would react.

But Mu Qing’s next move sent chills down everyone’s spines.

Despite the sword energy’s immense destructive power, Mu Qing stepped forward, actively meeting the attack head-on.

Lin Ran immediately formed a hand seal, his face etched with anxiety, attempting to conjure a spiritual energy shield to block the strike for Mu Qing.

Just as everyone held their breath in terror, Mu Qing suddenly threw a right punch.

In an instant, a violent gale erupted from Mu Qing’s fist, sweeping outward in all directions.

Before the crowd’s disbelieving eyes, Mu Qing’s fist collided with the sword energy.

The white sword energy shattered instantly, offering no resistance. The overwhelming force of the punch sent Liu Yue staggering backward, his appearance utterly disheveled.

When the gale subsided, the crowd stood frozen in shock, their expressions a mix of awe and disbelief.

”If just the wind from her punch has this much power, imagine what a direct hit would do! She’d turn you into mincemeat!” Xia Long exclaimed, his eyes wide with astonishment.

”Yeah, I think so too, Big Bro,” his companion agreed.

”Big Bro, Second Bro, I feel the same way. Senior Sister Mu Qing is a monster—absolutely terrifying!”

The battle was far from over.

After regaining his footing, Liu Yue gazed solemnly at Mu Qing and said, ”I haven’t used my full strength yet. If you can withstand my next strike, I’ll concede. But this sword strike is immensely powerful and might accidentally injure you.”

”Are you going to draw your sword?” Mu Qing asked, her eyes filled with curiosity.

”This sword never strikes its own kind. This is my strongest sword technique when I don’t use the blade.”

”Bring it on,” Mu Qing replied with a confident nod.

Hearing that Liu Yue was about to unleash his full power, the crowd’s anticipation surged once more.

Under their curious gazes, the Jianlan behind Liu Yue began to tremble.

As Liu Yue raised a hand toward the sky, a stream of blue light emerged from the Jianlan, coalescing above his head into a spiritual sword formed entirely of blue energy.

”This sword technique is called Sky Severance. Brace yourself, senior sister.”

Liu Yue, who rarely spoke during combat, announced the name of his technique, clearly acknowledging Mu Qing as a worthy opponent.

Hearing this, Mu Qing tried to reciprocate the courtesy, but when she glanced at her clenched right fist, her expression froze in surprise.

”This technique is called... Mighty Fist.”

As Mu Qing announced the name of her technique, Liu Yue drew the blue energy sword toward him with both hands, then abruptly thrust it forward.

In an instant, violent sword energy erupted, leaving crisscrossing sword marks etched into the ground.

The blue energy sword split mid-flight, doubling into two, then four... until it transformed into thirty-two blue energy swords. As they coalesced into a sword formation, their power surged exponentially.

”What kind of monster is this freshman?” Lin Ran, standing beside Feng Qi, couldn’t help but widen his eyes in astonishment.

Facing the approaching blue sword formation, Mu Qing unleashed a fully charged punch.

A gale-force wind roared through the arena. Xu Hongyun and the monk, standing at a distance, were blown off their feet and slammed against the wall.

The moment Mu Qing’s fist collided with the sword formation, a series of cracking sounds echoed through the arena. Cracks spiderwebbed across all thirty-two interconnected blue energy swords simultaneously.

With a final push of her fist, the spiritual swords shattered into fragments, transforming into a shower of shimmering blue energy rain that drifted down like falling petals.

The overwhelming force continued to surge forward, sweeping past Liu Yue’s right side as his face twisted in disbelief, and slammed into the far wall.

The wall, constructed from specially reinforced materials, buckled under the strain and collapsed with a thunderous crash.

The shockwave toppled weapon racks lining both sides of the training ground, leaving the area in chaos.

”My strength... should rank around third in the class?” Lin Ran asked Feng Qi, turning his head with a mix of shock and uncertainty.

”Don’t worry, you’re definitely third,” Feng Qi replied with a smile.

Liu Yue, who had been staring blankly upward, now wore a dazed expression, clearly shaken by the punch. He seemed to be questioning his entire existence.

If Mu Qing’s punch hadn’t been aimed away from him, it could easily have been fatal. He realized that even if he used Jianlan at full power, he stood no chance against her. There was no way he could have blocked that strike.

Looking at Mu Qing, he saw her relaxed demeanor, as if the punch had been nothing more than a casual flick of the wrist, without her even exerting her full strength.

Liu Yue’s pride shattered completely.

”I lost,” he said, his voice bitter.

Mu Qing nodded at his dejected expression. ”Keep working hard, junior brother.”

With that, she turned and ran toward Feng Qi, her face beaming with a triumphant smile. She seemed eager to be praised for completing his task, practically begging him to compliment her.

”Senior sister, you’re amazing!” Feng Qi, who had already anticipated the outcome, gave her a thumbs-up with a grin.

Mu Qing couldn’t hide her smile at Feng Qi’s praise.

Stepping over to Liu Yue, who was still in shock, Feng Qi patted him on the shoulder. ”You okay?”

Liu Yue shook his head. ”I’m fine, just a bit surprised. Now I understand why you told me to go all out. Even if I had drawn my sword, I wouldn’t have stood a chance against Senior Sister Mu Qing.”

Feng Qi glanced at Mu Qing, who was now surrounded by freshmen bombarding her with questions. He chuckled. ”Don’t be discouraged. You should be happy.”

Seeing Liu Yue’s puzzled expression, he continued, ”Shouldn’t we rejoice that such a remarkably talented powerhouse has emerged among humans?”

Liu Yue’s eyes widened in realization. He nodded solemnly. ”Her existence is a blessing for our Human Race.”

”The testing for today is over. Let’s head back.”

With that, Feng Qi led Liu Yue toward the group.

Just as they were about to leave, the gymnasium manager strode onto the field through the collapsed wall, his expression dark. He glared at Feng Qi and snapped,

”What’s going on here? Are you training or demolishing the place?”

Feng Qi surveyed the chaotic scene and awkwardly apologized, ”Sorry, there was a slight mishap during the test.”

”A slight mishap? Are you sure you didn’t use any explosive weapons? This was supposed to be a purely physical combat test, right?”

Faced with the administrator’s skepticism, Feng Qi paused for a few seconds before tentatively suggesting, ”How about... I demonstrate again to prove it?”

The administrator’s expression turned incredulous, then resigned. ”Alright, just leave. I’ll contact maintenance to handle this. Next time, conduct high-intensity combat training in the sand pit on the east side of the sports field.”

”We’re really sorry for the trouble. We’ll be more careful next time,” Feng Qi replied apologetically.

Having concluded the test training, Feng Qi now had a rough understanding of Liu Yue’s capabilities. While Liu Yue couldn’t compare to Mu Qing, his combat prowess still far surpassed that of his peers.

This gave Feng Qi even greater confidence for the Freshman Team Competition in a month.

Back in the classroom, the students’ relationships had grown much closer, especially their attitude toward Mu Qing.

Throughout the session, they constantly discussed Mu Qing’s strength, occasionally glancing at her to ask questions.

The attention clearly made Mu Qing somewhat uncomfortable.

Next, Feng Qi began the lesson, starting with the basic Fierce Tiger Fist.

For body cultivation, the Xia Family Brothers were the most enthusiastic.

They were particularly active in class, frequently raising their hands to ask questions, which Feng Qi answered in detail.

The Freshman Team Competition, scheduled for a month later, required not only individual strength but also team coordination.

A standard domain combat team typically included a main DPS, a tank (to absorb damage), crowd control, healers, combat medics, battle support, formation masters, spirit pharmacists, and ranged art magic users (for ranged DPS), among others.

With this diverse range of roles, teams could effectively hunt, gather resources, and survive in the perilous Domain Field.

Freshman teams didn’t need such a comprehensive setup and could omit non-combat roles like spirit pharmacists and spirit mineral appraisers.

Even with simplified team compositions, strategic team formation remained crucial. A well-structured team could significantly enhance combat effectiveness.

Having set his sights on the championship, Feng Qi had no intention of half-assing things.

Moreover, these students would form the core of his future domain combat team, the primary force for extracting wealth from the Domain Field. The upcoming team competition provided an ideal opportunity to cultivate their teamwork skills.

However, his knowledge of team configurations and coordinated combat tactics was severely limited, making it impossible for him to teach them effectively at this stage.

Therefore, he decided to focus on cultivation lessons for the day. He planned to delve into these strategic concepts during his next Dream Realm session, then impart the knowledge to the freshmen of Combat Class Three.

In the future, he would tailor training plans for each student based on their individual strengths, drawing relevant knowledge from the future database to nurture their potential.

For example, Cai Guo, who came from the Medical Research Institute, was perfectly suited to become the team’s medic. Feng Qi could copy knowledge of ”Combat Medical Arts” from the future database to train her.

With a vast and diverse range of skills and knowledge he needed to introduce, maintaining his ”genius” persona was essential.

The ”all-rounder” he had mentioned to Bai Fusheng was precisely what he aimed to become.

He wanted the world to transition from astonishment at his abilities to accepting them as commonplace.

Pity the future you. The more you show off, the more miserable he’ll be. But to change the future, the real world truly needs your creativity (or plagiarism) to drive progress. Still, I hope you’ll kowtow a few times to your future self, to thank him for the sacrifices he’ll make.

Ignoring the Narrator’s words, he continued to focus on explaining the Fierce Tiger Fist.

This was the first time the freshmen had heard about the Future People’s philosophy of body cultivation. Except for the monk, who seemed distracted, the rest of the students listened intently.

During the lecture, the freshmen finally understood why Feng Qi, despite being only slightly older than them, was qualified to be their teacher.

By the time the class ended, it was noon.

After Liu Yue and the other freshmen left, Feng Qi, Lin Ran, and Mu Qing headed straight to the Academy Cafeteria.

After lunch, he returned to his dormitory and ordered a batch of ingredients for brewing Clear Heart Wine online.

With no afternoon classes, he planned to visit Le Ping’an to learn how to brew Clear Heart Wine, preparing for his next journey into the Dream Realm.
