RE: LORD OF TIME

(You have successfully completed the trial for the God of Time’s Inheritance.)

As the notification flashed before his eyes, William felt as if some kind of chains that had been binding him had suddenly disappeared.

A sense of freedom rose from the depths of his soul, and his body felt much lighter.

’Is this the feeling of my soul finally no longer being rejected by this timeline?’ He couldn’t help but think, remembering that one of the rewards for completing the trial was that his soul would no longer be repelled by this timeline.

Although he had been in this timeline for around two weeks, he had only been able to remain here because he was undergoing the trial for the God of Time’s Inheritance.

Without it, his soul would have been repelled by the timeline, sending him back to the original timeline.

But now that the trial was completed, he could feel that his soul was no longer being repelled.

While William was thinking, two more notifications flashed before his eyes.

====

(Your soul has successfully been anchored to the current timeline and will no longer be repelled.)

(You have received the Growth-Type Skill—Time Acceleration.)

====

William read the first notification and nodded inwardly, as it confirmed that the sense of freedom he was feeling was indeed because his soul was no longer being repelled by the current timeline.

However, he did not dwell on it for long and immediately focused on the second notification.

”Time Acceleration... a Growth-Type Skill.” His eyes gleamed slightly as he immediately looked at its details.

====

---) Time Acceleration (Growth-Type): Upon activation, the user can accelerate the flow of time around themselves.

====

His status window displayed only a very simple description of Time Acceleration. Yet when William read it, those few words stirred monstrous waves within his heart.

’Accelerate the flow of time around myself...’

William took a deep breath as, under the effect of True Wisdom, countless different ways to use this skill began to emerge in his mind.

His eyes fell upon the words Growth-Type, and the excitement within his heart intensified even further.

Just as the name suggested, Growth-Type Skills were skills that grew alongside their user.

Unlike skills such as Eyes of Insight, Growth-Type Skills had no fixed ranks. They continued to evolve as their user became stronger.

As William’s strength continued to increase, Time Acceleration would also continue to become stronger.

Calming his mind, William tried to activate Time Acceleration.

The moment he did, he immediately noticed that, with his current strength, he could accelerate the flow of time by about 1.5 times within an area roughly fifty centimeters around himself.

Moreover, the consumption of this skill was extremely high.

With his current reserves of Aether Energy, he could maintain the skill for only about thirty seconds before exhausting all of his energy.

Although the consumption was high, William did not think much of it.

After all, accelerating the flow of time was an absurdly powerful ability, so he had already expected it to consume a tremendous amount of energy.

Moreover, although a 1.5-times acceleration might not sound impressive at first, it was actually quite terrifying.

As William activated the skill, a pale golden light suddenly enveloped his body, and he immediately noticed the changes.

He looked toward a falling leaf and felt that it was descending slightly slower.

Even the insects flying around him seemed to be moving somewhat more slowly.

It was as if everything around him had entered slow motion.

But in reality, it wasn’t that the world had slowed down, nor had he become faster to the point where his thoughts perceived everything in slow motion.

Rather, because the flow of time around him had accelerated, everything outside the accelerated area appeared to move more slowly by comparison.

This accelerated state was extremely useful in battle, as it gave him additional time to react to an enemy’s attacks.

William suddenly thought of something else and immediately took a step forward, running at his fastest speed.

BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! - - - - -

Because he had only just broken through to the Star Warrior Realm, he had not yet fully adapted to his newfound strength.

As he sprinted forward, deep craters were left behind with every step he took.

However, William paid them no attention because he was completely immersed in testing the Time Acceleration Skill.

After becoming a Star Warrior, William could normally cover a distance of around forty meters in a single second while running at full speed.

However, under the effect of Time Acceleration, because time around him flowed 1.5 times faster, he could cover nearly sixty meters in the same amount of time.

This alone increased his speed by fifty percent.

Not to mention, there were countless other possible applications for the Time Acceleration Skill.

On top of that, it was a Growth-Type Skill that would continue to become stronger as he grew stronger.

’Maybe, in the future, I will be able to accelerate the flow of time around me hundreds of times. At that point, wouldn’t I be able to kill my enemies before they even have the chance to react?’

William took several deep breaths to suppress his excitement before deactivating Time Acceleration.

He had only used the skill for around twenty seconds, yet almost all of his Aether Energy had already been depleted.

William had initially thought he would be able to maintain the skill for thirty seconds, but his energy had been consumed much faster than he had expected.

’It seems the energy consumption increases if I move around or perform actions while Time Acceleration is active...’

He silently noted down this detail before operating the Supreme Star Scripture to recover some of his depleted Aether Energy.

At the same time, a question couldn’t help but arise in his mind.

”This God of Time’s Inheritance... there shouldn’t be only one skill in this inheritance, right?”

The moment this thought appeared in his mind, the small pearl deep within William’s soul glowed faintly once again and the next instant, a book suddenly appeared out of nowhere in front of William.

At the same time, the pearl disappeared from within his soul.

William was taken aback when the book suddenly materialized before him, and he immediately reached out to catch it.

However, before he even had the chance to examine the book, he suddenly sensed something within his Sea of Consciousness and immediately looked inside.

And to his surprise, he saw a small pearl silently floating beside his two trait images.
