Chapter 991: Chapter 992: Rescuing the Girl

The critically ill girl is a third-year high school student. At this moment, her condition is extremely serious. By the time she was brought in, she had already fallen into a deep coma, and her heart had even stopped beating several times.

As Lin Chen approached the surgery room entrance, he was startled by the sight of the doorway being completely surrounded by a group of men in black.

These people all had tattoos and exuded a menacing aura; they clearly belonged to the Island Nation’s underworld!

Seeing that Su Wanrou and the nurse were medical staff, these people finally made way, allowing Lin Chen to squeeze through the crowd behind them.

”How is the girl’s condition?” Su Wanrou anxiously asked a nurse who had just come out of the surgery room.

”The patient’s condition is very unstable. I’m afraid she won’t make it. Doctor Chi Shang is currently performing cardiac resuscitation on the girl.”

Hearing the nurse’s words, Su Wanrou furrowed her brows. Performing cardiac resuscitation suggested that the girl’s heart had already stopped beating, indicating the situation was incredibly critical.

”Doctor, you must save my daughter; I’ll give you as much money as you want if you can save her,” a middle-aged man, wearing glasses, said with a face full of grief.

”Please, save our lady,” the group of men in black behind the middle-aged man said almost in unison, bowing.

Seeing this imposing sight, Lin Chen was very worried. If their lady wasn’t saved, these people would definitely wreck the hospital.

”Don’t worry, my parents will do everything they can to save the injured,” Su Wanrou said as she hurriedly helped up the middle-aged man.

”Wanrou, Doctor Chi Shang wants you inside,” a nurse whispered in Su Wanrou’s ear at this moment.

”Yes, I’m going in now,” Su Wanrou nodded and was just about to enter the surgery room.

At this moment, Lin Chen suddenly walked over and seriously said, ”I’ve seen this kind of poisoning before. Ordinary medicine won’t cure it. I can help detoxify the girl.”

”But...” Su Wanrou was a bit hesitant, after all, this was a hospital, and there was a critical patient inside, which meant ordinary people weren’t allowed to enter.

”Wanrou, life is at stake. If I don’t intervene, the girl will certainly die today.” Lin Chen spoke with an undeniable firmness and confidence in his eyes.

Remembering how Lin Chen had treated her twisted ankle and appendicitis earlier, Su Wanrou nodded, ”Alright, you can come in with me.”

Although Su Wanrou knew this didn’t comply with regulations, she still took the risk to let Lin Chen enter the surgery room with her.

The atmosphere inside the surgery room was incredibly tense. Although the girl had regained a heartbeat through cardiac resuscitation, her condition was still extremely critical, and she could die at any moment.

Several doctors were gathered around the operating table, discussing strategies.

”Wanrou, come here and give me a hand.”

As soon as Su Wanrou entered the surgery room, a middle-aged man turned his head and said to her, ”The patient appears to be poisoned by food, which has led to a deep coma, and she also has heart disease. We must first perform gastric lavage on her and then proceed with heart surgery.”

This middle-aged man was the director of surgery at Xinyi Hospital, who graduated from the medical college in M Country, and he was the only doctoral student at Xinyi Hospital, making him the medical authority of the whole hospital.

Compared to other students, this girl’s condition was particularly serious, compounded with her congenital heart disease, making treatment extremely difficult.

The girl was immediately sent to the ICU after being brought in, with her condition being very risky, experiencing several cardiac arrests, and constantly on the brink of life and death.

”No, the poison in the patient’s body has already merged into the bloodstream. Gastric lavage is useless, and if we perform heart surgery now, it’s equivalent to killing this girl. She can’t endure it and will die on the operating table.”

Before Su Wanrou could respond, Lin Chen had already interrupted Doctor Chi Shang, speaking in a deep voice.

”The patient’s cardiac arrest is an immune response to the poison itself. Performing surgery now is tantamount to helping the poison travel into her heart via the bloodstream, which would be taking the girl’s life,” Lin Chen continued.

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Chi Shang’s face darkened, ”Baka, who are you? Who let you in?”

Seeing Lin Chen in casual clothes, who was clearly not hospital staff, and this guy dare to brazenly question his treatment plan, Chi Shang became furious.

”Doctor Chi Shang, I brought this person in. He’s a Chinese medicine doctor. I think maybe he can help us,” Su Wanrou explained.

”Chinese medicine? That’s all your Hua Xia witchcraft; it’s all a sham. Su Wanrou, I’m very disappointed in you. At this critical moment, you brought in an outsider. Make him leave right away,” Chi Shang said angrily.

”But!” Su Wanrou still wanted to explain further.

At this moment, Chi Shang said to a male doctor beside him, ”Jing Shang, throw this guy out for me.”

The doctor, eager to ingratiate himself with Chi Shang, wouldn’t miss such an opportunity.

He came to Lin Chen’s side at this point, speaking coldly, ”Sir, this is a medical area. Please leave immediately.”

”I won’t leave because I cannot watch a living being die at the hands of you incompetent doctors,” Lin Chen said gravely.

With a compassionate heart, Lin Chen could have ignored it if he hadn’t witnessed it, but he couldn’t stand by and watch a young girl helplessly fade away due to these people’s incompetence.

”If you don’t leave, I’ll have to call security.” As the assistant spoke, he reached to push Lin Chen out.

Lin Chen let out a cold snort, shrugged his shoulder, and that doctor was inexplicably thrown back, landing on the ground.

After throwing that doctor back, Lin Chen strode toward Chi Shang.

”You just insulted Hua Xia’s Chinese medicine as witchcraft, right? Then I’ll let you see what real witchcraft is.”

As the words fell, Lin Chen’s hand lightly tapped on Chi Shang’s neck.

Instantly, Chi Shang’s face turned pale, as if something was blocking his throat. He suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Chi Shang felt an unbearable itch all over his body. He wanted to scream but couldn’t make a sound; it felt as if thousands of insects were crawling all over his body, causing extreme discomfort.

”Doctor Chi Shang!” All the doctors and nurses turned their attention to Chi Shang lying on the ground.

Taking this opportunity, Lin Chen swiftly approached the girl.

The girl before him was about seventeen or eighteen, very beautiful, but her delicate face was now deathly pale, and her breath was feeble, clearly on the brink of death.

Lin Chen dared not delay any longer and hurriedly took out silver needles, rapidly inserting them into the acupuncture points on the girl’s body.

Su Wanrou glanced at the struggling Chi Shang on the ground, bit her lip, and quietly moved to Lin Chen’s side to assist him.

In Lin Chen’s eyes was a sharpness. He used his X-ray vision to observe the position of the toxins in the girl’s body, continuously channeling Qi into the silver needles, carefully inserting them into one acupuncture point after another on the girl.

Under the effect of the X-ray vision, every blood vessel in the girl’s body was clearly imprinted in Lin Chen’s mind.

Due to the delay caused by these people just now, the poison was now very close to the heart.

Therefore, Lin Chen had to be extremely cautious, using the needle as a medium to continuously control the needle with Qi.

Half an hour later, a shocking scene unfolded before everyone’s eyes—the silver needles on the girl’s body had all turned a dark brown!
