Chapter 878: Chapter 879: I’ll Call the Police for You

Zhao Ling’s expression changed slightly: ”Forget it, we are in business for profit and we want to keep things peaceful. We don’t want any trouble, just go. Don’t do this kind of thing again.”

Although Zhao Ling seemed magnanimous, she was actually very cunning. If Lin Chen and Li Yuqing just left, it would implicitly confirm their guilt of theft.

Lin Chen snorted coldly: ”No rush, didn’t you want to call the police? I’ll do it for you.”

Speaking of which, Lin Chen directly dialed 110: ”Hello, is this the police station? I need to report a case at Yi Fa Supermarket. There are two security guards sexually harassing my girlfriend. Please come over quickly.”

Hearing Lin Chen call the police, Zhao Ling, Zhang Yong, and the monkey-faced security looked visibly upset.

Zhao Ling gave another cold hmph: ”What nonsense are you spouting? How could our staff sexually harass your girlfriend?”

”The police officers will know once they arrive,” Lin Chen said with a faint smile.

Soon, a few police officers walked in: ”Who called the police?”

Seeing the police, Zhang Yong and the monkey-face looked aggrieved: ”Officer, thank goodness you’re here. Look at this man, he stole from our supermarket and even assaulted people. Please arrest him quickly.”

The leading police officer frowned: ”That’s quite audacious, daring to assault someone in the supermarket. Take him away.”

Seeing the police move to arrest Lin Chen, Zhang Yong and the monkey-faced security both had savage smiles on their faces.

”Hold on, officer. I was the one who called the police. It’s not quite right to arrest someone without knowing the full story,” Lin Chen said.

The police officer paused: ”What’s there to say if you assaulted someone?”

Lin Chen replied, coldly smiling: ”Officer, they were trying to molest my girlfriend and had already laid hands on her. How could I not defend her?”

”Nonsense, that was a routine check,” Zhang Yong shouted.

”Really a check?” Lin Chen snorted coldly, walked behind Li Yuqing, and took a magnetic strip from the corner of her clothing.

”Officer, please look at what this is. The monitor beeped when my girlfriend was going through the security checkpoint.” Saying this, Lin Chen handed the magnetic strip to the officer.

”Perhaps everyone is wondering how this item got on my girlfriend. Actually, it’s simple. The skinny security guard secretly stuck it on her, making it possible for this fat security guard and the skinny one to blatantly search her body,” Lin Chen said calmly.

”So that’s what happened, that’s just shameless.”

”Just a few days ago, I encountered these two security guards searching a girl’s body using the same method,” someone in the crowd remarked.

Hearing Lin Chen’s explanation, the spectating crowd suddenly realized the truth and became indignant, loudly condemning the two security guards.

After the police entered and reviewed the surveillance footage, they snorted coldly: ”Take these two away.”

With that, several police officers immediately apprehended the two security guards, one fat and one skinny.

Seeing this, Zhao Ling’s face immediately turned ugly. Zhang Yong was her brother-in-law, and she had put a lot of effort into getting him into this position as security captain. That boy often employed such tactics to take advantage of girls. Initially, she tried to manage it, but seeing that nothing major had happened, she turned a blind eye. Unexpectedly, today they had encountered someone who fought back, and they were arrested by the police.

Zhao Ling awkwardly smiled at Lin Chen, saying: ”Sir, Miss, it was our negligence that led to such scum on our team. On behalf of the supermarket, I apologize to you.”

Lin Chen looked at Zhao Ling with a cold expression: ”Manager, did you really not know about what those two were doing?”

Zhao Ling replied with a stern face: ”How could I possibly allow them to do such immoral things if I knew?”

Just then, a man in a suit hurriedly approached: ”Manager Zhao, what’s going on here?”

Seeing the man, Zhao Ling’s expression changed. The man was Tian Dafa, the general manager of the supermarket, and she was certain to be reprimanded for the incident unfolding under her watch.

Tian Dafa approached and upon seeing Lin Chen, he paused, and then showed a surprised expression: ”Are you Mr. Lin Chen by any chance?”

Lin Chen glanced at Tian Dafa and could not help but be stunned: ”Do we know each other?”

Tian Dafa smiled ingratiatingly: ”Mr. Lin, you may not know me, but I certainly know you. Our Yi Fa Supermarket is affiliated with the Mu family.”

Upon hearing Tian Dafa’s words, Lin Chen suddenly realized.

It turned out that previously when Tian Dafa and Mu Feng were reporting on their work, Lin Chen was also present. At that time, even Boss Mu was very respectful towards Lin Chen, so he left a very deep impression.

Now knowing Tian Dafa’s identity, Lin Chen nodded: ”So it’s like that. The management of your supermarket is quite remarkable, allowing security guards to blatantly harass female customers.”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Tian Dafa’s expression changed, and he stared at Zhao Ling furiously: ”What is this about?”

Zhao Ling’s face immediately turned ugly; she could have never imagined that Lin Chen’s background was so significant that even the general manager had to please him.

”Manager Tian, it’s my poor management. Zhao Yong and Skinny Monkey actually did such disgraceful deeds,” Zhao Ling said with an ugly expression.

”Zhao Yong, isn’t he your cousin? Very well, Zhao Ling, I trusted you so much, yet you engaged in nepotism and even condoned their actions. You are fired,” Tian Dafa said coldly.

After all, Zhao Ling had been with him for many years, and if it had been an ordinary customer, he might have made some allowances, but Lin Chen’s background was too extraordinary, totally beyond his ability to provoke.

”Manager Tian, I’m wrong, please don’t fire me,” Zhao Ling, who had never expected to lose her job over this, pleaded.

As she spoke, she knelt down in front of Lin Chen with a thud: ”Mr. Lin, I was blind to not recognize Mount Tai, please forgive me.”

Lin Chen snorted coldly: ”You beg me now, but have you ever thought about those girls who were harassed by your cousin? Have you considered how helpless they felt? You, as a supermarket manager, actually allowed such things to happen right under your watch; you’re simply reaping what you sowed.”

Ignoring the sobbing Zhao Ling, Lin Chen took Li Yuqing’s hand and walked straight out.

Manager Tian kept seeing Lin Chen and Li Yuqing to their car, then wiped the sweat off his face, glad he had promptly arrived, otherwise he might have lost his job as well.

The two drove back to the villa, Li Yuqing’s face flush with redness: ”Lin Chen, thanks to you this time, I didn’t expect those guards could be so terrible.”

Lin Chen smiled: ”It’s my fault, I didn’t protect you well and let you be wronged.”

While speaking, the two parked the car and just as they were about to enter the villa, suddenly a laugh came from behind, and an old lady carrying a shopping basket approached at the door.

”Oh, you young couple have finally come back,” the old lady said with a grin seeing them.

Hearing the old lady’s words, their cheeks both reddened.

However, now the two of them carrying a bag of ingredients really looked like a young couple.

This old lady lived in the neighboring villa, her son a local real estate merchant.

Li Yuqing blushed and was about to explain but was held back by Lin Chen.

”Old lady, we had gone traveling for a while. Is there something you needed?” Lin Chen said, holding Li Yuqing’s arm, the two of them indeed looking like a couple.

The old lady smiled and said, ”Nothing much, just to let you know, recently there have been some people with unclear identities coming in and out of the neighborhood; you young couple be careful.”

”People with unclear identities?” Lin Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly.

”Thank you, old lady, we will be careful,” Lin Chen said with a smile.

Listening to Lin Chen and the old lady’s conversation, Li Yuqing’s cheeks flushed.

As Li Yuqing opened the door, Lin Chen felt a peculiar feeling.

That feeling was like a young couple coming home, very intimate.
