Chapter 866: Chapter 867: The World Martial Arts Tournament

As the claws drew nearer and nearer, the faces of everyone present turned ugly.

However, Lin Chen suddenly retracted his aura and ceased to resist.

”This guy seems to know that he’s no match and that resistance would be futile,” Bragg’s face revealed a ferocious grin.

But just as his hand was about to reach Lin Chen, Bragg’s expression suddenly changed.

An abrupt figure appeared in front of Lin Chen, seizing Bragg’s eagle-claw like hand.

”You guys are getting bolder, daring to run wild blatantly on Chinese soil. Do you really think all of us old bones are dead?” a cold voice said icily.

Bragg tried to withdraw his eagle claw, but felt a surge of energy being infused into the palm of his hand from its center.

”Pfft!” A mouthful of blood sprayed out, Bragg’s face turned pale, and he stumbled backward four or five steps before he could steady himself.

”Who are you?” Bragg looked at the sudden appearance of the old man, his expression growing ugly.

Lin Chen couldn’t help but smile upon seeing the old man, as it was none other than Grandpa A-Tu.

”I am A-Tu of Kunlun!” the old man stated coldly.

”What, it’s actually you!” Bragg trembled slightly upon hearing the old man’s name.

That name was a sore spot for many foreign martial artists. Twenty years ago, when M country and other nations’ martial artists challenged the Chinese martial arts community, it was A-Tu of Kunlun who, single-handedly, wiped out the challengers. Hence, even now, the mention of A-Tu’s name still sends chills down the spines of foreign martial artists.

Clenching his teeth, Bragg spoke somberly, ”So it is Senior A-Tu. Our visit to Jade Maiden Peak was originally for a friendly exchange of martial skills, but this youngster cruelly attacked our people, severely injuring four of our martial artists, and even crippled Sam’s cultivation. We will not let this matter rest so easily.”

Upon hearing Bragg’s words, A-Tu’s face darkened, ”Lin Chen, did you do all this? This is totally unacceptable.”

”Senior A-Tu, Lin Chen he...” Mu Yun was just about to speak up for Lin Chen, but A-Tu waved his hand impatiently.

”These foreign martial artists deserve a beating, daring to cause trouble on Chinese territory. For every one that comes, one should be killed. The fact that you only injured them severely is simply outrageous!”

Clack!

The words of Senior A-Tu instantly made everyone’s faces turn strange.

Bragg’s face became even uglier. He initially thought that Elder A-Tu would reprimand Lin Chen, only to find that A-Tu actually thought Lin Chen was too lenient.

Thinking about it carefully, this old man appeared amiable but once casually slaughtered eight foreign martial artists due to a disagreement, having quite a volatile temper.

A-Tu coldly stared at Bragg, ”Go back and tell that so-called Pope of yours to behave, otherwise if I’m pushed to the limit, I’ll come kill my way to your den and wipe out your so-called Skull Society, that Red Cross Society, all in one fell swoop!”

”You!” Bragg was so angry that he turned deathly pale, but he had no choice but to swallow his pride due to Senior A-Tu’s overwhelming strength.

A-Tu spoke indifferently, ”Now that you’ve taken your beating, is there anything else you want?”

A glint of bitter resentment flashed through Bragg’s eyes, ”Apart from coming here to take a beating...”

”No, besides coming for an exchange, we are also here to issue a challenge. One month from now, we will hold the World Martial Arts Tournament on a small island in the Pacific, and we hope China will send contestants to participate,” Bragg stated coldly.

”World Martial Arts Tournament!” A-Tu frowned.

A cold smirk appeared on Bragg’s face, ”This martial arts tournament is restricted to those under the age of thirty, and each country can send eight contestants. We will send the invitations and details to the headquarters of the Chinese Martial Arts Alliance’s email. The ultimate winner of this tournament will become the leader of the World Martial Arts Association.”

A-tu’s face revealed a trace of icy coldness: ”The age limit is set at thirty? You all really know how to calculate.”

In the martial arts world, Huaxia could be said to occupy half of the territory, with super-strong fighters guarding each of the five famous mountains, and that old man from the Dragon Group, it can be said that Huaxia occupies more than half of the world’s top ten fighters.

But as Earth’s environment is damaged more and more severely, the Spiritual Energy on Earth has become even more scarce, which is very unfavorable for the Huaxia Martial Artists who rely on Spiritual Energy for their cultivation.

Over the past few decades, although many young masters have emerged, their strength has not been particularly outstanding.

On the other hand, with the development of genetic technology and science abroad, the emergence of great fighters has been incessant—Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man... It’s almost become the new trend in the world’s martial arts.

By comparison, it is true that Huaxia martial arts have declined, even the outstanding ones from the younger generation aren’t too remarkable.

A-tu’s gaze fell upon Lin Chen, feeling a few more sighs in his heart, thankful that this youngster was here; otherwise, there really wasn’t much chance of winning this time.

Blake had a cold sneer on his face: ”You grand Huaxia wouldn’t dare to back down from this challenge, would you?”

A-tu harrumphed coldly: ”What’s there to be scared of, our Huaxia Martial Artists will honor the appointment in one month’s time.”

Hearing A-tu agree, Blake’s face revealed a cruel smile: ”Good, then we’ll be waiting for the arrival of the Huaxia Martial Artists.”

With that, Blake led his group away from Jade Maiden Peak.

Watching Blake and his people leave in disarray, warm applause suddenly erupted in front of the mountain gate.

Of course, these applauses were all for Lin Chen.

This time, with Lin Chen defeating four foreign martial arts experts alone, it can be said that without Lin Chen turning the tide, Huaxia martial arts would have truly stumbled this time.

”Lin Chen, Lin Chen!” Cheers resounded throughout Jade Maiden Peak.

At this moment, Lin Chen could be said to be everyone’s idol, whereas Wang Hao and Xiao Hu, who ranked first and second on the youth leaderboard, had their faces growing increasingly ugly.

Wang Zixuan pulled Lin Chen’s hand with flushed cheeks, while Mu Yun the Fairy didn’t show any reaction this time.

In the past, she disagreed with Lin Chen being with Wang Zixuan because in her heart, Lin Chen wasn’t worthy of Wang Zixuan.

But now, as the acting Sect Leader of Kunlun and with unfathomable strength, Lin Chen has now qualified to be Wang Zixuan’s boyfriend.

In this world where strength commands respect, rules are only set for the weak. When you have enough power, when you are strong enough, you will find that these rules cannot bind you at all.

”Senior A-tu, why didn’t you discuss with the Sect Leaders of the other mountains before agreeing to their challenge?” Fairy Mu Yun said worriedly.

”What’s there to discuss? They’ve already hit our doorstep. If we don’t let these rascals know our might, they’ll really think Huaxia is easy to bully,” A-tu said coldly.

”Alright, I’ll call for a video conference of the Sect Leaders of the major sects to select participants for the World Martial Arts Conference,” Fairy Mu Yun sighed.

A-tu nodded: ”Hmm, tell those old geezers that Lin Chen’s words are my words. Whoever doesn’t accept it can come up the mountain to spar with me directly.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Chen was stunned: ”Senior A-tu, you’re not going to attend the video conference?”

”I’ve said you’ll represent Kunlun and me in full authority. Ah, I’m too old and useless; even moving around makes me tired. I’m going back to sleep,” saying this, A-tu yawned and actually walked away.

”Damn, this old man stirs up trouble then toddles off to sleep,” Lin Chen said helplessly, watching A-tu’s receding figure disappear in an instant.

However, Fairy Mu Yun stared at Lin Chen in shock: ”This youngster actually got Senior A-tu’s approval; he’s just too strong.”
