Chapter 838: Chapter 839: Traditional Chinese Medicine Creates Miracles

Elder Mu turned his head and his expression changed upon seeing Lin Chen: ”Kid, this old man’s hemiplegia is beyond the help of medicine; it’s completely incurable.”

Lin Chen smiled lightly: ”What if I can cure him?”

Elder Mu snorted coldly: ”If you can treat this old man’s hemiplegia, then I am willing to give you a thousand-year-old ginseng.”

Lin Chen nodded: ”Okay, since you’re so generous, I’ll take it.”

”Wait a minute, what if you can’t treat him?” Elder Mu said coldly.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”If I can’t treat him, I will kneel and kowtow to admit my mistake to you.”

”Good!” A hint of coldness flashed in Elder Mu’s eyes.

Hemiplegia is a kind of neurological disorder, and it’s one of the most difficult diseases to cure.

Not to mention Lin Chen, even the entire medical community considers it an intractable problem.

If Lin Chen could use acupuncture to treat the old man’s disease, that would truly be miraculous.

Therefore, Elder Mu was full of confidence about the wager.

Just then, Lin Chen said with a smile: ”Sir, I can treat your illness. Are you willing to let me perform acupuncture on you?”

The old man looked at Lin Chen and nodded: ”Alright, I will give it a try!”

Upon saying that, the old man lay down on the bed nearby.

Lin Chen was sterilizing the silver needles in his hand when he was about to start, and suddenly a furious voice came from outside the door: ”Wait a moment!”

A young man rushed in, flustered: ”Dad, didn’t you say you were going to the bathroom? Why did you come here?”

The old man glanced at the young man and said indifferently: ”The doctor is treating me; wait outside for me.”

The young man glanced at Lin Chen, his eyes showing a hint of distrust: ”What do you mean he’s treating you? You must be joking.”

The young man then turned around and said coldly: ”Kid, do you know who this old man is? You even dared to deceive him. Can you afford the responsibility if you cause any problems with your treatment?”

As the sudden change unfolded, a sneer appeared on Elder Mu’s face as he mockingly watched Lin Chen.

Lin Chen’s gaze turned frosty as he said lightly: ”Since I dare to treat him, I’m confident I can cure him.”

”You can cure him? My father has been treated in the most advanced hospital in the States, and even they said it was hopeless. You, a mere country doctor, dare to claim you can cure his condition, which is clearly a scam.” The young man said coldly.

”Enough, didn’t you hear me telling you to get out?” The cold gaze of the old man in the bed turned colder, emitting the aura of someone in a position of authority.

”Dad, don’t seek a desperate solution in your anxiety. Chinese medicine can’t be relied upon, what if it worsens your condition?” the young man said anxiously.

The old man said coldly: ”Traditional Chinese medicine is the heritage left by our ancestors. Its continuance for a thousand years surely reflects its scientific nature. Are you deaf that you did not hear my instructions to leave?”

The young man snorted and stormed out of the ward.

Upon leaving the ward, the young man took out his phone: ”Hello, are you the director of the Zhonghai City Health Bureau? I’m Zhang Lan. There’s a hospital called Bai Cao Tang here that practices medicine recklessly and has even deceived a senior leader. Are you going to do something about it?”

The other party’s face turned pale upon hearing the name Zhang Lan. Zhang Lan’s reputation in Zhonghai was very formidable, and his father was the top official of the entire Southeast Province. How could a mere director of the Health Bureau afford to offend someone like that?

”Mr. Zhang, rest assured, our team will be there immediately, we will investigate and deal with it sternly,” the Health Bureau director said hastily.

Although the old man had only spoken a few words, they moved Lin Chen deeply.

Nowadays, most people blindly trust Western medicine, while the traditional Chinese medicine passed down from our ancestors is gradually declining. To find someone as enlightened as this old man is increasingly rare.

Lin Chen took out the silver needles and said softly, ”Elderly sir, it might hurt a bit in a moment, but rest assured, I can definitely cure your illness.”

The old man nodded, ”Young fellow, don’t feel pressured. I believe in you.”

Lin Chen smiled and quickly inserted the silver needles with his hands.

The silver needles in Lin Chen’s hands followed one after another, almost in one breath because Lin Chen knew that to treat the old man’s illness, he had to hit the pain points. The faster he inserted the needles, the less the old man would suffer.

The old man’s eyebrows gradually knotted into a frown, but he clenched his teeth tightly and did not let out a groan.

The old man’s tenacity greatly impressed Lin Chen.

At this moment, footsteps were heard from outside, and several young men in uniform rushed in, flustered.

The leader was the director who had just taken the phone call. Seeing Zhang Lan, he immediately showed a beaming smile: ”Greetings, Young Master Zhang.”

Zhang Lan’s eyes lit up upon seeing the newcomers: ”You’re finally here. That quack is inside, go handle him quickly.”

The director nodded hurriedly: ”Rest assured, Young Master Zhang, we will deal with this person severely.”

With that, the director, looking hot-headed, entered the consulting room: ”You, stop right there, stop the treatment immediately.”

At this critical moment, Lin Chen was at a juncture. A disturbance would likely result in all his previous efforts being wasted, and even the Divine Doctor would find it difficult to cure the old man then.

Seeing Lin Chen not stopping, the director’s face changed, and he was about to come over to snatch the needles.

Lin Chen’s gaze turned cold as he finally spoke up, ”You should be aware of who this elder is. If his condition is impacted by your reckless actions, are you capable of bearing the responsibility?”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, the director’s face suddenly changed.

However, Zhang Lan shouted from behind: ”Don’t be fooled by this guy, have you ever seen such a young expert in traditional Chinese medicine? He’s clearly a fraudster.”

An awakening remark for someone lost in a dream, the director suddenly saw the light and yelled to the others: ”Remove all the needles this kid has inserted.”

Mu Yusen also rushed over in a hurry, quickly intercepting the director: ”Director Wang, Mr. Lin is indeed an expert we have invited.”

Director Wang looked at Lin Chen with a cold gaze: ”Does he have a medical license? Does he have the qualification to be a doctor?”

Faced with Director Wang’s questions, Mu Yusen was genuinely stumped.

Director Wang’s eyes revealed a trace of coldness: ”Quickly stop that young man.”

Just then, a commanding voice rang out: ”All of you, get out of here.”

The elderly man had been clenching his teeth against the severe pain coming from his body’s acupoints. Now, he began to feel sensations in the areas of his body that had been numb.

Seeing himself about to be healed, yet these people were continuously causing trouble, Secretary Zhang couldn’t contain his anger.

Hearing the old man speak, Director Wang’s face changed, and he no longer dared to obstruct, meekly leading his men out of the room.

About ten minutes later, Lin Chen had removed all the needles from the old man’s body.

The old man gingerly got out of bed and took a few steps, his face revealing an ecstatic expression.

”How is it possible, I can actually walk!”

Seeing Secretary Zhang walking back and forth off the bed, everyone was astonished.

This was a case of hemiplegia, and yet he was truly cured by Lin Chen with silver needles; it was nothing short of a miracle.
