Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 320: Chapter 93: The Missing Cloud City

In the dark cosmic space, an ultra-large structure floats in the orbit of the Mechanical Split Star.

Cloud City, the super ring-shaped space station around the high space orbit, also known as Heaven.

’Heaven’ is divided into ten rings, with a beautiful environment visible to the naked eye, where nobles dressed almost like Saints and Saintesses are laughing and conversing.

The next moment, the smiles of these nobles grow larger and more exaggerated, as flames of data spray out from their mouths and noses.

[You have killed the governor’s gene replica in the 19th District, Experience +30000]

[You have killed the third son of the Hai Bo Dragon Clan, Experience +50000]

[You have killed the ninth wife of the governor in the 10th District, Experience +30000]

[You have killed the satellite noble in the 7th District, Experience +45000]

...

Among the ten rings, the first ring is called the Governor’s Ring, and it houses the families of governors from various places.

[You have killed a descendant of the Space Colonist Mars Clan, Experience +10000, Specialization Points +1]

[You have killed a descendant of the Space Colonist Landes Clan, Experience +20000, Random Blueprint*1]

[You have killed a descendant of the Space Colonist Dark Blood Clan, Experience +5000, Genetic Fragments*1]

[You have killed a descendant of the Space Colonist Morgan Clan, Experience +5000, Bloodline Fragment*1]

...

The residents of the second ring are all members of alien colonist families, who share the commonality of intermarrying with aliens, resulting in offspring with bizarre appearances. Some have an extra eyeball, some have thousands of hook ropes growing from their backs, while others have split heads.

The Flame Bird burns through them one by one, turning these alien bloodlines into fuel.

More importantly, the rewards given by these alien bloodlines are particularly generous.

With good luck, one could even directly gain a complete Alien Gene Chain.

These people were seen by Gao Gong in a previous life. Towards the end of the planet’s mainline, they relied on their connections with aliens to guide around, and the ticket for Noah’s Ark was inflated by these people.

...

Paradise Bird slaughtered ahead, hacking into the minds of one Cloud Nobility after another, and then detonating them one by one. Gao Gong provided data support from behind.

It seemed that peace had been prevailing for a long time, as these Cloud Nobility had very low alertness, not even installing Electronic Defense Walls, and the precious bloodlines they carried allowed Gao Gong to farm experience rapidly. In just ten minutes, 4 million experience points were acquired.

These were all personal experience points, totaling 6 million when combined with previous accumulation, enough for Gao Gong to not worry about experience points until level 30.

Starting from the first ring and killing up through the fifth ring, the Revenge Flames turned into the Flame Bird that nearly tore through all defense systems.

Gao Gong discerned the Paradise Bird’s goal; she genuinely intended to bring down the entire Cloud City.

However, Cloud City eventually reacted. The ’Information Blockage Field’, ’Simulation Force Field’, ’Energy Shield’, and ’Large Data Defense Circle’ — these information defense techniques of a Level 3 Civilization were finally deployed, extinguishing fires everywhere.

Observing the genetically modified slaves and bionic man slaves running madly on the ground, Gao Gong was moved. He vaguely recalled that there was a celestial player who was reincarnated into Cloud City and became one of the nobles.

It was time to give him some work to do.

...

’Get Out of the Way, I’ll Deliver First’, being a diligent and ambitious player, longed to hang out with the buddies on the forum, gnawing Nutrition Paste, sleeping on the streets, then frantically killing monsters and making money, living frugally every day.

But if fate decides to obliterate you, what can you do?

At this moment, he could only drift in a soccer-field-sized swimming pool, attended by dozens of beautiful big sisters, one feeding him a grape, another a piece of watermelon. At a young age, he was already living a life of indulgence and waiting for death.

”Sigh, I also want to strive and fight monsters well. But the problem is that there’s not even a chicken here, so what can I do?”

”Master, what do you plan to have for dinner?” the butler asked.

”Chicken.”

Just as ’Get Out of the Way, I’ll Deliver First’ was planning to take a beauty sleep as before, suddenly, the ground shook violently, and alarms sounded.

And the player panel, which he hadn’t used since the game started, suddenly popped out with a task.

[Mission: Cloud Plunge]

Difficulty: Difficult-

Mission Brief: The false enjoyment, the false blessings have left you exhausted. Now ’Cloud City’ is under attack by a dangerous group of hackers and is at risk of sinking. At the crossroads of destiny, please make your choice.

Mission Objectives:

Option 1: Seize an escape ship and flee to the planet beneath your feet

Option 2: Seize an escape ship and head to an ancient satellite base

Option 3: Fight against the hackers and defend Cloud City

Option 4: Do nothing and wait for death

Mission Reward: Unknown

’Get Out of the Way, I’ll Deliver First’ turned pale with a mix of surprise and joy; happy that the novice mission had finally arrived, but shocked that such a big challenge was thrown at him first.

Cloud City sinking, damn, is it really this intense right from the start?

...

After casually making a move in chess, Gao Gong turned his attention back. At this moment, the entire Cloud City was engulfed in the blazing flames of data.

This ’Heaven’ has everything except cyber hackers or the top-tier neural editors for a simple reason: the signal here is not good.

For normal networking, there’s no issue, but for professionals, it’s quite frustrating.

Please, a distance of 400,000 kilometers, entering cyberspace, and even taking a dump might get stuck.

The defenses of Cloud City are extraordinarily tight.

Gao Gong encountered Level 50 alien life forms, Level 60 high bloodline holders, and even some Level 70 planet creature replications.

But it was useless.

Unless it’s an external hormone life form like Alien Blood Flasuo, but even among alien life forms, such Outer God bloodlines are rare.

So this time, Paradise Bird truly rampaged.

Seeing the experience value approaching eight million, Gao Gong reluctantly withdrew his gaze and said:

”I have two pieces of news to remind you.”

”One, Cloud City is deviating from high orbital space, meaning it’s leaving the Mechanical Split Star’s range. In another minute, even the hyperlink system will lose signal.”

”Secondly, the island is being bombarded by space-based weapons. Although this is a real-world attack, the signal stations and data platforms above have all been destroyed, causing your internet speed to fluctuate and data transmission to face obstacles.”

”How much time do I have left?”

”30, no, 20 seconds.”

”Alright!”

The next moment, Gao Gong could feel Paradise Bird’s source code disintegrating, exchanged for the surge of data flames.

’Suicide attack or on-the-spot breakthrough? Both, perhaps.’

The King of Hackers at Level 40, the Source Hacker at Level 50, and by Level 60, hackers can completely transform into virtual life forms, becoming a member of the ’Information Ocean’ within the Four Great Civilizations.

Mechanical Realm, Carbon-Based Sequence, Energy Realm, Information Ocean; only the last one seems least serious, often giving the impression of diving into the ocean for no reason.

But the true meaning of ’Information Ocean’ is the endless dimensions of information in the universe; the deeper you dive, the more you gain.

”Why do they all like to go berserk at critical moments? If it were me, I’d definitely go berserk first, then cause trouble.”

Gao Gong does not plan to interfere; the final step at Level 60 is to convert all source code into virtual code, essentially changing planet code into star system code. Being able to break through this barrier, even without a data pipeline, Paradise Bird possesses the ability to traverse between planets.

And this time, the data flame materialized, a giant bird beak slowly formed, almost covering half of Cloud City, drawing on ten years’ worth of data reserves.

Then, the next moment, the bird beak gently pecks at the sublight engine of the ring-shaped space station.

In Nightless City, or from another perspective, all TV stations on Mechanical Split Star are public. As long as you can attract an audience and complete the ’artificial data’ interaction, your show can run as long as you want.

This has also led to various bizarre, addictive, and peculiar shows appearing on TV stations.

No show’s ratings, including the ’Escapee Game,’ have ever dominated the same time slot.

But one piece of news has managed it; the protagonists of this news are the two newly unveiled cyber hackers, and their achievement is——the fall of Cloud City.

Now, countless hosts, guests, neural editors, and even cyber hackers appearing in masks are all discussing one topic.

Where did Cloud City go?

Major corporations, foundations, financial groups, countless forces are now searching the world for Cloud City.

Theoretically speaking, if Cloud City were to fall, it would transform into a giant meteor, crashing into a planet, unleashing a catastrophic disaster.

But there’s another possibility; Cloud City flew in another direction, outside Mechanical Split Star’s gravity ring.

As for where it flew, that’s hard to say.

If things go wrong, Cloud City could become the universe’s most common entity——a wandering space station.

If unlucky enough to encounter a Star Thief Group, then Cloud Nobility would likely become Cloud Slaves.

The only known fact is that the death toll of Cloud Nobility has already surpassed 3000.

”So here’s the question,” Lady Red Dream turned off the TV, looked at Gao Gong, smiled and asked, ”Where did Cloud City go?”
