Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 120: Chapter 107: Slaughter Hunter (Part 2)

After landing, Gao Gong patted the elephant’s butt, and the loli from the Cable Tribe led this air cannon elephant, which had turned into an armored monster, away.

Gao Gong pulled up a chair and sat down, picked up the water on the table, and gulped it down.

”Why do you look so tired?” Huang Yuanli asked curiously.

”If you had performed rejection surgery for a hundred Biological Transformers and then modified over two hundred Mechanical Beasts in just three days, you’d be tired too.”

However, when Gao Gong saw the six-digit experience, he felt it was all worth it.

Without much hesitation, he allocated the experience to his new secondary profession.

[You have advanced the Biologist to lv2, Perception +1]

[You have advanced the Biologist to lv3, Wisdom +1]

[You have advanced the Biologist to lv4, Wisdom +1, Perception +1]

[You have advanced the Biologist to lv5, Wisdom +1, Perception +1, gained ability, Biological Observation]

Biological Observation: You have a deeper insight into various forms of life, able to see differences in identical postures.

[You have advanced Zoology to lv2]

[You have advanced Zoology to lv3]

...

[You have advanced Zoology to lv5]

[You have advanced Botany to lv2]

...

[You have advanced Botany to lv5]

Well, the six-digit experience suddenly reduced to only fifty thousand.

Suppressing the urge to upgrade ’Biologist’ to ’Biologist Expert’ for now, Gao Gong took out a needle and injected it into himself.

A warm current spread from his body.

[You used the Enhanced Genome, Power +1, Agility +1, Perception +1]

Having Dai Bin, this Biological Tutor, prepare such a Basic Enhancement Liquid might be overkill, but the effect is indeed good.

Gao Gong thought for a moment and beckoned toward the window. Old Wilder’s daughter rushed in excitedly without the slightest hesitation.

”You’ve been watching for several days, how do you feel?”

”It’s miraculous!”

No kidding, to perform these over three hundred surgeries, I specifically upgraded the [Human Body Transformation Surgery] skill to lv10.

Human Body Transformation Surgery (Profession) lv10: Expert level surgical skills, your surgical plan is impeccable.

”If it were you, could you handle it?” Gao Gong asked.

Most Mechanical Hunters aren’t this lucky, having Prosthetic Doctors perform surgical modifications. The places they modify are small prosthetic workshops, and the Transformers are like Little Wilder, a kind of body repairman; therefore, their transformation success rate is extremely concerning. The result is either the body spurting blood everywhere or gasoline.

So prosthetic workshops are also known as the Mechanical Hunter’s hair salon, where Mechanical Hunters always leave something behind.

Someone like Little Wilder, a body repairman, is compared to the initial profession of a Prosthetic Doctor; what they lack is the systematic study of Prosthetic Doctor knowledge.

They are wild-type players.

Helli hesitated for a moment and said, ”I’ve been watching for several days, it should be fine.”

According to Old Wilder, this tomboy is a somewhat famous Transformer around here; moreover, Gao Gong could see she had a strong obsession with Human Body Transformation.

After all, not everyone can cling to a window for several days.

Following the old man’s saying, let young people exercise more; according to the capitalist’s saying, this is an excellent labor force.

”Then the upcoming surgeries are yours, the surgery plans and data will be given to you later.”

Helli felt invigorated, knowing her opportunity had come!

”I won’t disappoint you, master!”

”I’m not your master,” Gao Gong glanced sideways at her, ”but if you do well, I can teach you more knowledge.”

”Yes!!”

Gao Gong could finally step back, and others, seeing this, scattered away, except for Old Qian, who trotted over.

”Boss, my old buddies—”

”What do you mean, didn’t I ask Old Han to help them regain their strength?”

The Nuclear Fission Humanoid Transformation Plan essentially involves transforming people into Mutated Radiation Species.

This is something only these Old Hunters can accomplish because they are some of the few who survive rejection and have the foundation to inject Radiation Energy.

This method allows them to restore their ’peak stage’ strength in a short time.

The Old Hunters’ ’peak stage’ was around level 25, and Biological Hunters are more suited for hunting Radiation Beasts compared to Mechanical Hunters.

”Yes, they asked me to ask when we can officially deal with the Beast Tide; they can hardly wait.”

Gao Gong exhaled: ”Soon, soon, wait until everyone is here.”

Just in time for me to change professions first.

...

The three legion hackers were late to arrive; they’re the gems of the Security Corps and among the few cyber hackers in the Radiation Zone; they are even fewer in number than the Prosthetic Doctors.

Even though this place is rural, it has a vast prosthetic modification market. However, for cyber hackers, this place is a standard no-network zone.

The leading hacker was White Pupa, the one who remotely hacked Gao Gong but got tricked by Gao Gong’s ’Sub-Body.’

”Welcome to your arrival.”

An electronic screen flipped down, revealing the face of the Mechanic, Huang Wen.

”Was your electronic brain tampered with?” asked White Pupa curiously. In this godforsaken place, cyber hackers are rare, and instances of living people being hacked are even less common.

Huang Wen didn’t want to answer such a sorrowful question, so he changed the topic, ”I’ve already prepared your equipment for you.”

Gao Gong used a ’Quadruped Robot’ to create a temporary body for Huang Wen. This ’Human-headed Dog’ body didn’t allow him to move quickly, but luckily the place wasn’t far, just inside the gas station.

There were piles of sensory equipment, VR equipment, and some connection devices.

”These pieces of equipment will be put in the battlefield, but due to signal interference in the Beast Tide, you’ll need to use sensory signals for remote invasion to control them.”

White Pupa breathed a sigh of relief; this kind of operation wasn’t difficult for a cyber hacker, as long as they didn’t have to invade the brain of a B-level Radiation Beast.

During the last invasion, two colleagues had their heads exploded due to monster backlash.

The computational power of a B-level Radiation Beast is almost on par with some corporate mainframes.

”But what’s the use of these pieces of equipment?”

”Simply put, it’s to create a super maze covering the Beast Tide.”

”Due to these sensory devices, the maze’s tactile feel will be quite realistic, and some might even be particularly lifelike due to shared sensory experiences.”

White Pupa accepted the design plan and studied it closely; the more he looked at it, the more peculiar his expression became. Was the designer of this connection mode really serious?

This looked remarkably like a virtual-level feast.

”But what’s the purpose of this method?” asked White Pupa in confusion.

The Beast Tide is supported by the mutant energy tide generated by the explosion of Radiation Beasts, and even if this method causes chaos among the Radiation Beasts, the Beast Tide remains a Beast Tide. The energy surge won’t stop due to the beasts’ chaos; it might even escalate.

”The purpose is diversion.”

”To separate the lower-level beasts from the B-level ones, so when executing the Beheading Strategy, we won’t be affected by other Radiation Beasts.”

”Your targets are also B-level Beasts!?”

White Pupa was shocked. As a participant in the last ’Arm-breaking Operation,’ he deeply understood the cost of killing a B-level Beast, and the Beast Tide defense line was almost breached due to that plan.

Huang Wen shook his head.

With some pride and even arrogance, he said:

”Trust me; our method is ten times more advanced than theirs.”

...

Old Qian, after receiving Gao Gong’s message, scampered off to find his old comrades.

In a bathroom, the old fellows lay lazily in boiling water emitting high radiation.

Seeing Old Qian, they chuckled, saying:

”Old Qian, come soak in.”

”Yeah, you’re the last one missing.”

”Need someone to scrub your back?”

Old Qian quickly stripped naked and soaked in. Miraculously, the malformed bones and metal particles on his body mostly disappeared.

However, as he soaked, a faint pressure emanated from him.

This feeling was much like a high-level Radiation Beast.

The dozen or so old fellows soaked in highly concentrated radiation fluid, potent enough to cause cellular necrosis, releasing all sorts of dangerous auras, like a dozen humanoid monsters.

Old Qian conveyed Gao Gong’s reply to the group, but contrary to his expectations, the old guys didn’t react with excitement, loud chatter, or boastful antics; instead, there seemed to be a collective sigh of relief.

”What’s with your expressions?” Old Qian asked curiously, feeling that their ’humility’ did a disservice to the name of their ’Senior Villain Squad.’

”It’s just a matter of five minutes anyway,” Old Cha replied with a self-deprecating smile.

”Better than nothing,” another elder shrugged, with an otherworldly demeanor.

Eventually, one of the elders suddenly slapped the water forcefully, his eyes turning red:

”Why didn’t that brat come sooner? If he came earlier, we wouldn’t be like this. Didn’t he cure those young brats? Why can we only fight for five minutes!”

Old Qian fell silent. Years of human mutation had left most of their vital organs half-dead and incapable of enduring intense modifications. Infusing radiation energy to activate their ’peak state’ for five minutes was their limit.

”Yeah, why so late,” Old Qian mumbled.

...

Gao Gong was unaware that a group of old guys was lamenting their past; he was preparing for the final transformation of the First Transformation.

The path of Carbon-Based + Mechanical Stream was truly challenging, especially in terms of modifications.

This wasn’t just a matter of skill but also luck.

Because you’d never know if, after this modification, your mechanical/biological rejection would suddenly skyrocket to an absurd level.

Other people’s bodily mutations can be salvaged, but if one’s own ’tightrope’ path goes wrong, it would directly lead to their final rest.
