Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 38: Chapter 32: Two Assassination Masters

A seven-story administrative building

A thin line, barely visible to the naked eye, is slowly sliding down.

As it slides over a pane of glass, through the glass, a nearly transparent human figure can be vaguely seen.

”It’s indeed lively.”

Gao Gong mutters to himself.

Is the task of luring beasts dangerous? Of course, it is. But if you don’t face danger directly, what you face later is death.

He didn’t know if significant figures like Black Rose or Professor Han could survive in normal history.

But in the Beast Mechanical Disaster, Aunt Xiang and her son definitely couldn’t survive.

Since Fat Xiang has the potential to survive, Gao Gong would try to train him as much as possible, so that in the future Celestial Calamity, he would have the power to protect himself.

Of course, this was also for himself.

One person can’t withstand the tide.

Only a group of people can possibly do that.

”Hm? Did a dog locate the prey?”

Gao Gong rubbed his chin. With a slight flick of his wrist, the Single-Molecule Hook Claw flicked back.

In the next moment, he kicked the window ledge with power, the Micro Motor boosting to full power. In the next moment, the whole person leaped three meters into the air.

With another flick of his wrist, the Single-Molecule Hook Claw shot out, grabbing onto an elevator, swinging his body forward.

On the ground, a few Mechanical Bio-Beasts glanced up, didn’t sense any living creature, and soon lowered their heads, gnawing at the steel bars.

However, this ’Spider-Man’ mode can only be maintained within a range of 10 meters and can’t move freely among high-rise buildings like that small spider.

If Gao Gong did that, first his muscles would be torn, then the motor would blow out, and finally, even his titanium alloy bones would be pulled apart.

According to the comic setup, the little spider’s power can reach up to 20 tons. For Gao Gong to be like that, he would need at least Tier 2, which is after level 60, and undergo special Biological Transformation.

And coincidentally, no matter which planet, once a Carbon-Based Civilization ascends to Level 3, it will give birth to a hero culture, and likewise, produce super species ideology. If this ideology runs rampant, it will trigger a ’mutation revolution.’

But for now, I can play the role of a mechanical version of Sekiro.

Soon, Gao Gong appeared at the marked location of a Human-headed Dog.

It was a huge Metal Tree, its trunk thick enough to be embraced, its stem like an electric drill, cutting through scrap iron, devouring metal.

On the surface of the trunk, a thick layer of metal protein was secreting, metal modeling, layer by layer construction, this feeling, is very much like 3D printing.

”A C-level Metal Nest.”

Gao Gong squinted. If this thing successfully grows, it would become a living ’residential building,’ constantly attracting Mechanical Bio-Beasts to transform into Guardian Beasts, settle down, and breed by providing ’houses.’

This is also one of the hardest species to eradicate in the Metropolitan Area, even with heavy weapons, ground-to-space missiles, or thermonuclear bombs; it’s hard to completely destroy it.

In its mature period, it’s a standard B-level Radiation Ecology.

However, right now, Gao Gong didn’t hesitate at all, single-handedly gripping the Red Unicorn. Electromagnetic Exciter fully powered up, the knife light flashed, the blade cut out a Sound Burst.

The Metal Nest seemed to sense something. The metal spiky tree roots started to curl upward, and the crown above closed down like armor.

But it was too late!

[You caused 1315 points of damage to the Metal Nest]

[You have killed a C-level Metal Nest, Experience Value +720]

By the time Gao Gong sheathed his sword, a ’crack’ sounded behind him, half of the trunk crashed to the ground, and a strong metal rust smell came out.

And after Gao Gong left, a group of Small Mechanical Bio Beasts was only then attracted by the noise.

The growth period was too short; the Metal Nest didn’t have time to cultivate a group of Guardian Beasts.

Half an hour later, Gao Gong appeared at a construction site that was not completely built, aiming his sniper rifle at the Radiation Corpse Commander not far away.

This Radiation Corpse Commander was nearly 3 meters tall, its muscles twisted, and more bizarrely, its chest and shoulders hung with ’liver’-like Radiation Organs.

Under the blessing of the Radiation Organs, its Radiation Power can control all the surrounding Radiation Corpses.

In this construction site, the number of wandering Radiation Corpses was at least a thousand.

The next moment, a slight gunshot sounded.

The upper body of the tall Radiation Corpse jerked violently and looked down slowly, seeing a bullet the length of a forefinger stuck in its chest, the bullet surface smoking hot.

[You caused 131 points of damage to the Radiation Corpse Commander with ’T5 Armor-Piercing Bullet’]

Another slight gunshot, this time aiming at the abdomen.

However, its abdomen didn’t have steel-like muscles, and the bullet went through, hitting the tower crane at the back.

[You caused 231 points of damage to the Radiation Corpse Commander with ’T5 Armor-Piercing Bullet’]

This time, the Radiation Corpse Commander let out an enraged scream.

The next moment, the Radiation Organ burst into bright yellow light.

At the same time, all the Radiation Corpses’ eyes turned yellow, rioting.

Invisible Radiation Power stirred the entire construction site.

[You enter Light Radiation State, all Attributes -8%, duration one day, you experience certain bodily mutations]

[Your bodily mutation has been negated]

[You are marked by Radiation Power]

[Due to the subcutaneous radiation-proof layer, you cannot be marked]

Gao Gong calmly pulled the trigger, fired a third shot, and before the Radiation Corpse approached, retreated into the darkness.

Compared to Mechanical Bio-Beasts, the power of a Radiation Beast is more diverse, with superpowers, physical deformities, biochemical pollution, everything.

But their Blood Volume isn’t high, not even half of the same-level Reaper Commander’s, and it doesn’t have the thick steel shell of the Reaper.

However, after five shots, the three Radiation Organs on the Radiation Corpse Commander flickered like short-circuiting light bulbs, as if they could explode at any moment.

The next moment, a figure suddenly descended from the sky, the shadow of a knife like the cold moon on the horizon. A flash of blood-red knife light, and the Radiation Organ on the shoulder was cut off at the root.

The Radiation Emitter Commander let out a scream, a trace of cunning flashing in its eyes. One palm suddenly opened, transforming into a jagged maw, while from the other hand, a white bone straight blade shot out.

The two attacked Gao Gong from left and right.

This Radiation Corpse knew very well that the Mechanical Hunters coveted the radiation organ on its body. When it saw that it was in dire straits, it would be influenced by greed and engage in close combat harvesting.

So it had long prepared a biological energy-storing mode within its body.

And on the system panel, the Radiation Emitter Commander’s blood volume suddenly surged by five hundred.

Gao Gong showed no emotion, slightly lowering his head to dodge the opponent’s three-meter long right hand. His wrist twisted, and the blood-red blade swept across the opponent’s abdomen, leaving behind a series of filthy things.

[You inflicted a Bleeding Effect on the enemy, increasing Attack Power by 5% (Level 1)]

Simultaneously, Gao Gong turned, darkness like a coat, with only a flash of red light vanishing in an instant.

The Radiation Corpse Commander shrieked again, its right eye exploding directly.

[You inflicted a Bleeding Effect on the enemy, increasing Attack Power by 5% (Level 2)]

The continuous stacking of the ’Drinking Frenzy’ effect made the eyes in the darkness even more frenzied.

And the swordsmanship was like a chaotic dance of bloody flowers.

The remodeled ’Red Unicorn’ blade had been shortened from nearly two meters to one meter and three, specifically to adapt to the new combat style.

And the Attack Speed and Attack Power blessed by the ’Night Warrior’ compensated for the lack of destructive power of a medium-sized blade.

The Radiation Corpse Commander could never have imagined that a sniper would have melee abilities surpassing its own.

It howled loudly, summoning surrounding Radiation Corpses to besiege.

Yet Gao Gong’s sword stance showed no chaos.

Blade light sliced through the last radiation organ as if caressing the skin of a beauty.

[You inflicted 135 points of damage to the Radiation Corpse Commander]

[You have killed a C-level Radiation Corpse, Experience Value +610]

Gao Gong glanced at the corpse expressionlessly.

He wasn’t interested in such low-level radiation organs.

With the leader’s death, the surrounding Radiation Corpses went entirely into berserk mode.

Just before the Radiation Corpses pounced, Gao Gong sheathed his blade, flicked his wrist, and his figure disappeared into the darkness once more.

’I wonder if I can find suitable radiation organs tonight.’

The reason Gao Gong hunted bosses so actively was also because he was searching for suitable radiation organs.

Many Mechanical Hunters were only obsessed with mechanical transformation and prosthetic installation.

But they ignored what was right under their noses, a paradise for biological transformation.

Nowhere had more Radiation Beasts than the Iron Sand Desert.

The killings at night didn’t happen in just one place.

The next day, when the electronic board at the gate of Petrol Town refreshed, everyone’s eyes nearly fell out.

Even the craziest gamblers hadn’t predicted this scene.

Besides the Plunderer Squad, who held the first rank, all positions from second to ninth had been replaced.

The new ranking was—

Mechanician Squad

Fire Thief Squad

Fire Grass Squad

Petrol Worshiper

Symbiotic Squad

Gray-Eyed Cultist

Miyamoto Sanzang

Gao Gong

Black God

”Thi-this—this—this—”

”Impossible, is it an issue with the electronic board, or did a bug exist in the battlefield communication device?”

A few veteran Hunting Squads were fine; their peers faintly sensed they were holding back something big, but Symbiotic Squad, Petrol Worshiper, Black God—

Who the hell were these guys?

Soon someone dug out the background of the ’Petrol Worshiper.’

”You mean, they’re people of the warlord?”

”Why should warlords participate in the wars of our line of work!”

”That group isn’t even as good as mongrel dogs.”

”Huh, without this group of indigenous trash you talk about, the defense line would’ve collapsed long ago.”

The yelling and quarreling blended into a continuous noise.

’Petrol Worshiper’ was under the command of a local warlord.

The scores must be as vast as an ocean.

But since they could appear on the electronic board, at least it indicated that this kind of ’organized score boosting’ was also within the rules.

As the arguments and complaints came to nothing, soon, Mechanical Hunters turned their attention to another level.

The highest-ranked Solo Monster Hunting.

Gao Gong, Miyamoto Sanzang.

These two, in some sense, were formidable characters that made it onto the board through solo boss hunting.
