The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

Leng Qingtian was a little resentful that his wife showed no concern for him, making him work two jobs while constantly complaining.

But his mother was right—Sun Yeshu was pregnant, and he couldn’t afford to make her angry.

That was why he hadn’t lost his temper, even after being berated by Mrs. Sun and given a hard time by Sun Yeshu’s brothers.

Now, with Sun Yeshu making yet another demand, he suppressed his temper and patiently promised, ”It was all my fault before. I know I was wrong now. Tell me what you want, and I’ll do my best to give you whatever I can.”

Leng Qingtian’s submissive attitude greatly satisfied Sun Yeshu. Feeling that she had gained face in front of her family, she spoke up.

”You’d better listen carefully, then. My demands are very simple.”

”First, from now on, you are never to make me angry again. Otherwise, I won’t forgive you so easily.”

Swallowing his discomfort, Leng Qingtian nodded in agreement.

”Second, have Leng Yuan find you a job in the County Town. It’s not right that both of your brothers have decent jobs while you’re the only one who doesn’t. That’s just too unfair.”

Leng Qingtian: ...

”Third, make Gu Jiaojiao come and apologize to me in person. Our fight was all her fault, so she has to be the one to apologize. Only then will I go home.”

After speaking, Sun Yeshu stroked her belly, a look of absolute certainty on her face. ’I’m carrying the Leng Family’s grandson now,’ she thought. ’How could Gu Jiaojiao possibly refuse to come and apologize?’

When Leng Qingtian heard Sun Yeshu’s words, he took a sharp, deep breath. His gaze grew cold, but he still suppressed his temper as he spoke. ”Ye Shu, you know full well what our relationship with Leng Yuan is like. Our branch of the family formally split long ago. There’s no way Leng Yuan would help.”

’Asking Leng Yuan to find me a job is one thing, but making Gu Jiaojiao apologize is on another level. Never mind that she did nothing wrong—even if she was involved, knowing how much Leng Yuan dotes on his wife, if Gu Jiaojiao were actually forced to come and apologize, our branch of the Leng Family could forget about ever having a peaceful day again.’

’That man is ruthless. He once beat me and my brothers so badly we were bedridden for half a month—all over a few vegetables.’

Leng Qingtian tried to reason with Sun Yeshu.

Hearing Leng Qingtian’s refusal, Sun Yeshu was instantly displeased. ”Maybe that would have been a problem before, but Gu Jiaojiao and Leng Yuan have been married for so long and still don’t have kids. Who knows, maybe she’s barren! If they can’t have children, they’ll have to rely on the baby in my belly for their future. They wouldn’t dare refuse to apologize!”

Leng Qingtian took a deep breath, shot Sun Yeshu a look, then turned and walked away.

”Hey, Leng Qingtian, where are you going?”

Sun Yeshu cried out, but Leng Qingtian didn’t break his stride, walking straight out of the Sun family home.

The members of the Sun family were left staring at each other in bewilderment.

The Sun family was quite large, after all. The family elders were still alive, and Mrs. Sun had a sister-in-law (her husband’s brother’s wife) living there as well. That sister-in-law had two sons, while Mrs. Sun herself had two sons and one daughter. Below them were the young grandchildren. It was a sizable household.

The entire Sun family had been present for Leng Qingtian’s visit, and now, a dozen or so people were staring at one another, not understanding what he had meant by walking out like that.

Sun Yeshu’s aunt glanced at Mrs. Sun and couldn’t help but speak up. ”If you ask me, this has gone on long enough. Qingtian was working two men’s jobs the other day and passed out from exhaustion—all because of Ye Shu. The fact that he still came here today to invite her home means she should just go back with him.”

Before Mrs. Sun could even speak, Sun Yeshu, who was in the other room, retorted indignantly.

She paid no mind to the fact that her aunt was an elder and shot back, ”Aunt, this is a matter for our part of the family. What does it have to do with you?”

”Besides, what’s so special about working two jobs? Doesn’t Leng Yuan do the work of two men? Why can he do it, but my husband can’t? And another thing, if he hadn’t yelled at me, would I have been angry enough to run home? If he doesn’t come begging, I’m not going back!”
