The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

’So Lu Yuanbin is the one behind the facial soap business.’

A plan began to form in An Mingjiang’s mind. ’This Lu Yuanbin really has some skill. The facial soap is actually quite good.’

’If I took it over, I could definitely make a lot of money.’

Just then, a young woman walked in from outside. Seeing Old Nine and An Mingjiang discussing something in the living room, she paid them no mind and walked right up to An Mingjiang, her tone sour.

”Dad, why is the facial soap you bought me different from the last one? I tried it, and it’s absolutely awful.”

With that, the young woman tossed a pink bar of facial soap onto a nearby table.

The man glanced at the soap but didn’t see any difference.

”How is it different?”

Old Nine looked closer. ’Isn’t that the facial soap I sent over to get on An Mingjiang’s good side?’

The young woman didn’t know where the soap had come from and assumed her father had bought it, so she launched into a complaint.

”It’s completely different! The one I bought myself had a medicinal scent. It left my skin feeling clean, refreshed, hydrated, and supple. I can’t even tell you how wonderful it felt afterward.”

”My face used to be prone to breakouts, but ever since I started using that soap, I haven’t had a single pimple.”

”But this one? Forget about ’refreshing’—it stings my skin terribly when I put it on. After washing my face, my skin feels dry and tight. My whole face just feels awful.”

The worst part was, when she tried to put on her vanishing cream after using this soap, it wouldn’t absorb at all. It was like the two products were fighting each other.

After just one day, she felt her face was already much drier and had lost its previous supple feeling.

An Mingjiang glanced at the soap, then over at Old Nine. Old Nine just lowered his head, not saying a word.

He was frustrated himself. ’The products looked almost identical, so how could the effects be so drastically different?’

’Lu Yuanbin has sold tons of this soap without a single issue, yet I’ve only been selling it for a few days and it’s nothing but problems. It looks like Xu Wenwan’s soap is no match for whatever Lu Yuanbin is sourcing.’

An Mingjiang didn’t expose Old Nine, however. He simply comforted his daughter, ”If this soap isn’t any good, then just don’t use it. I’ll buy you the one you normally use another day.”

The young woman’s eyes lit up. ”Really? Oh, Dad, you’re the best! I heard they just came out with a new shampoo soap that works wonders. A friend of mine bought a bar, and now her hair is so dark and shiny. It smells amazing, too, and the scent lasts for days. Can you buy me a bar, too?”

She had wanted one for a while, but the price was just too high, so she had given up on the idea.

Now that her dad had offered to buy it for her, she certainly wasn’t going to pass up the chance.

An Mingjiang didn’t think much of it. Seeing how much his daughter wanted it, he agreed.

Old Nine, who was standing nearby, spoke up in a low voice.

”A bar of shampoo soap is ten yuan.”

An Mingjiang froze.

’Ten yuan?’

’His monthly salary was only twenty yuan. One bar of shampoo soap would cost him half a month’s wages.’

Seeing her father hesitate, the young woman immediately started to wheedle.

”Dad, you just promised me! You’re not going to go back on your word now, are you? That won’t do. If you don’t get it for me, I’ll pester you every single day.”

It wasn’t that An Mingjiang didn’t have the money. Ten yuan was a lot, but he could still afford it. He immediately took out ten yuan and gave it to his daughter.

”If you like it, go buy it yourself.”

The young woman took the money and happily ran out.

An Mingjiang was now tempted as well. ’Ten yuan for a single bar of shampoo soap... this business is a real moneymaker.’

”I’ll handle things on the black market. If Lu Yuanbin knows what’s good for him, he’ll back out of the market on his own. If he doesn’t, then he can’t blame me for what happens next.”
