Starting With an SSS-Rank Swordsmanship Talent

The beast squinted its eyes, snorting a breath of turbid air.

With its long lifespan, it had been deceived so many times by elves, orcs, and humans alike. It would never believe their lies again.

Its eyes gleaming with ferocity, the beast took a step forward and warned with its deep, beastly voice. ”For the last time, leave my territory and I shall spare you.”

It could feel that this human was more formidable than all the foes it had faced before, so it decided to negotiate.

Hearing this, Bellator shook his head and smiled faintly. ”Unfortunately, we must pass this road.”

With the size of the allied army, they would spend a few more years if they took a different route. Their rations and supplies wouldn’t last forever so they could only take this risk.

The beast revealed its fangs, seemingly displeased by his response.

”Human, do you think I am afraid of you?!” Its killing intent was palpable. If it were any other man, they might have already collapsed from its overwhelming aura.

Bellator had a look of regret. ”It seems like a fight is inevitable. I don’t want to hurt you. With your bloodline, it must have taken a long time to reach your current level...”

For some reason, the beast felt a wave of anxiety.

What is this?! Is this fear?

It couldn’t believe that it felt fear toward a human.

With a raise of his hand, Bellator summoned his flaming divine spear.

Boundless energy warped around him, as if bathing him with terrifying power.

The grass beneath his feet was scorched and quickly turned to ashes. The flames slowly spread and burned the greenery, filling the air with heat and smoke.

”How dare you burn my territory with your lousy flames?!” Furious, the beast could no longer hold back. It gathered mana into its mouth and spewed bolts of lightning.

Bang! Bang!

Lightning? That is quite rare.

Bellator narrowed his eyes. He twisted his body to evade the lightning bolts. His body blurred, moving like a mirage, leaving afterimages in the air.

Simultaneously, he brandished his spear in a sweeping motion, causing a violent wave of flames to erupt at the tip of the spear’s blade.

Whoosh!

Facing these fearsome flames, the beast stomped its foot, and lifted the earth, using it as a shield to protect itself from the flames.

Boom!!

After blocking the flames, it summoned a barrage of lightning bolts, which moved like serpents gliding through the air.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bellator dodged with ungodly speed, but the lightning bolts seemed like they had eyes on their own, following him like a phantom.

Left with no choice, he swung his spear and released a series of flame strikes that exploded upon contact with the lightning bolts.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The grassland was scorched and the nearby trees were blackened. It was as if a cyclone of fire had struck the land and burned everything in its wake.

As more of its territory was destroyed, the beast became even more furious. It let out a roar that shook the heavens.

Roaarr!!

”You have enraged me, human!” Its aura rose to the highest level, almost exceeding that of a Calamity-grade beast.

Seeing that it had gone serious, Bellator no longer wasted any time. He unleashed his most powerful techniques and battled with the behemoth.

With each collision of their attacks, a fearsome shockwave followed.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Bellator used his domain, enveloping the entire surroundings in a sea of fire. His hair turned crimson and a pair of burning wings appeared on his back.

He had turned into something like a demonic being. No, a demon bathed in flames.

With a thunderous roar, he brandished his spear, thrusting with unstoppable force!

A vortex of flames that reached the skies suddenly materialized, burning everything in its path, leaving only ashes behind.

Facing this catastrophic power, the beast rebelliously roared.

Roaarr!!

It refused to bow down and set loose a destructive lightning dragon that flew straight into the flame vortex with its gaping mouth.

As soon as the lightning dragon clashed with the vortex, an earth-splitting shockwave erupted.

BOOOOMM!!

Bellator shielded his eyes with his mana and stared straight at the struggling beast.

He could see the creature being blasted away by the impact. It was hurled into the air and smashed to the ground with a ’bang’.

As for himself, he suffered some light wounds. However, the final shockwave still left him looking disheveled.

”To think that a mere Calamity-grade beast would force me to use my domain. How pathetically weak have I become?”

...

Meanwhile, the allied army was still in battle with the monster wave. Even with millions of soldiers defending the camp, they still suffered considerable casualties. Some of their supply carts were flattened by the monsters, destroying the rations and resources they carried.

Thousands of soldiers were also killed in battle, with most of them eaten alive by the monsters.

”Is that the final wave?” Alaric looked at the approaching monsters. He had consumed a significant amount of his mana reserves.

There were more Catastrophe-grade beasts than he had anticipated. Even with the help of the various leaders, they still struggled to eliminate the monster wave.

The Astanian Emperor who was standing next to him replied with uncertainty. ”That should be the final wave. Other than the Calamity-grade beast that Lord Bellator is currently fighting, I don’t sense any other creature in the vicinity.”

Alaric furrowed his eyebrows, his mana surging. ”Let’s give this our all! We can’t let those beasts destroy more of our resources!”

With a mighty leap, he launched himself forward, brandishing his swords, and slashing the beasts that blocked his path.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The various leaders also exploded with power.

With their efforts, the final wave of monsters was soon eradicated. The grassland was left with countless monster corpses. The scent of blood was thick and nauseating.

”Disassemble the tents and prepare to leave. We cannot stay here anymore.” The Astanian Emperor commanded as he looked at the corpse-ridden forest.
