Starting With an SSS-Rank Swordsmanship Talent

”We call this the Ancestral Tree.” Wearing a smile on his face, Garandel supported Alaric as he got up.

Looking at Alaric’s confused eyes, the elven king explained. ”All deceased elves are buried here. Do you see it? The reason why this part of the forest is thriving with life is that it contains our people’s memories.”

Hearing this, a look of realization dawned on Alaric. He stared at the Ancestral Tree and turned his eyes to the dense greenery around them. It was full of life and vigor.

He could see butterflies and other insects flying from flower to flower. There were also small animals like birds and squirrels on the branches of the nearby trees, curiously watching them.

”It’s beautiful,” Alaric mumbled as he captured the magical scenery.

Garandel chuckled. With a serious face, he said. ”Now that you are a son of the forest, it will be your task to protect this place. You must not let it fall into danger.”

Alaric solemnly nodded. ”I will protect this place.”

”Good!” The elven king was pleased by his response.

...

In the afternoon, there was a combat event at the main venue. To prevent damage and casualties from happening, several strict rules were implemented. Only Elite Knights and 2-Ringed Beast Soul Adepts were allowed to participate. They were forbidden from using mana and the use of lethal force was also prohibited.

With the addition of this combat event in the wedding ceremony, all guests were hyped up, especially the beastmen.

To avoid delaying the flow of the ceremony, only eight participants were chosen to participate in the combat event. The elves and humans sent three participants each, while the beastmen sent two.

For the first match, it was between a human veteran warrior and a young elven prodigy.

Everyone believed that the veteran warrior would win the fight, but as the battle progressed, the young elven prodigy slowly gained the upper hand.

Using his smooth reflexes and agility, he ended up winning against the veteran warrior.

”Whoa! He actually won! Amazing!”

”That kid is a combat genius!”

”The outcome would have been different if they were allowed to use mana and powerful combat techniques.”

The audience’s opinions varied after the results were announced.

The combat event continued for another hour before the final two participants took the stage for a showdown.

It was a battle between the young elven prodigy and the son of a beastmen tribe leader.

The cheers and applause of the crowd erupted as the two fighters stepped onto the stage.

When the referee announced the start of the match, the two fighters moved almost instantaneously.

They displayed their outstanding combat abilities, drawing gasps of amazement from the audience.

After a few minutes of intense battle, the son of the beastmen tribe leader forfeited.

”I surrender.” His decision surprised the audience, but the observant ones realized why he made this decision.

”He is about to advance.” Someone remarked, his words enlightened the crowd about the situation.

”Oh! No wonder he forfeited the match when he has the slight upper hand.”

”I see. That makes sense.”

In the end, the young elf prodigy was declared the winner, but everyone knew who the real winner was.

...

On the second day of the ceremony, the groom and the bride finally met each other.

Alaric wore a suit made from a mystical silk. It was a unique product of the elves, created by a special kind of silkworm that only grows in the Enchanted Woodlands.

The exceptional suit made him look more dashing. If it weren’t for the occasion, the young maidens in the crowd would have already expressed their love and affection for him.

Alaric walked down the aisle, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

In his past life, he didn’t choose to marry anyone, not even Hershey who was always there for him. It was one of his greatest regrets.

He never would have thought that he would be marrying his third wife now. Life is truly full of surprises.

Alaric let out a smile. He waved at the guests, politely nodding at them for attending his wedding.

He then looked at the person on the stage. It was Garandel, his soon to be father in law.

As per tradition, the elven king would preside over the ceremony.

When Alaric stood before him, Garandel smiled and whispered. ”Thank you for giving me a grandchild.”

Huh?

Alaric stared at the elven king in shock. He couldn’t believe his ears.

What is he implying?

Looking at his dumbfounded expression, Garandel was amused. He clapped his shoulder and said. ”My daughter is pregnant. According to the doctor, the child has outstanding potential. Haha!”

”What?!” Alaric’s eyes widened.

Yvanna is pregnant?

It’s not even a year since Yskaela gave birth to our children and now Yvanna...

Is my seed really that potent? Don’t tell me Hershey is...

A thought crossed his mind, but he quickly shook off his wild imagination.

There is no way, right?

”Only a few know this. Don’t mention it to anyone just yet. There will be a big issue if the high-elves hear of this.” Garandel reminded him with a chuckle.

Feeling the weight in his father-in-law’s hand, Alaric nodded.

At this moment, the bride was called upon the stage.

Dressed in a long turquoise wedding dress adorned with sparkling gemstones, Yvanna looked like a living goddess.

Her beauty was already unparalleled. Coupled with her wedding dress, she looked even more devastatingly stunning.

The audience was stunned, unable to peel their eyes off of her.

It was the same for Alaric. He was also captivated.

She stood next to him and looked at his eyes, a splendid smile suffused her lips.

Alaric almost failed to hold back from kissing her right there and then.

With a soft smile and a gentle gaze, he complimented her. ”You look gorgeous.”

”Of course I am.” Yvanna elegantly flicked her hair and laughed.

While the two were exchanging flirtatious glances, Garandel cleared his throat and faked a cough.

”Good day, everyone! Thank you for attending this wonderful event...”
