Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 1043: Chapter 1043: Arrangements

Because we have a few dozen more pounds of soybean seeds, Li Yungui decided to plant according to the seeds, which will reduce the amount of corn significantly. Li Cunshan also agreed, after all, the chicken farm needs a lot of soybeans.

”Sister-in-law, can the oil mill in the town press soybean oil?”

”Yes, we can discuss pressing soybean oil for everyone this year.”

”I’ll take a look when I have time. Actually, I feel that feeding chicken with soybean cakes isn’t good.”

”Xiao Jiang, I heard the chickens at our farm are already big?”

”I haven’t gone in to see, but they should be quite large. We’ve been feeding them good stuff. If they didn’t grow quickly, it wouldn’t justify the food.”

”Hehe, we will have eggs to eat then. No need to worry about not being able to buy them anymore.”

”I’ll make sure you get your fill of eggs then,” Jiang Xinyu said with a smile.

”Is there even such a time? I could never get enough even if I eat eggs every day.”

A few others chimed in, agreeing that one could never tire of eating eggs every meal every day.

After planting soybeans in this hundred acres of land, thirty acres are left.

”Brother Cunshan, let’s just plant these thirty acres manually.”

”That works, it avoids compressing the soil too much.”

”The tractors should be ready by tomorrow. If not, we can send them to Jin Family Village to help Wang Shulin.”

”Sure, it’s not like he uses it for free,” Li Cunshan said; anyone could use the tractor but they must pay.

You never talk about someone for long before they show up; that evening Wang Shulin came looking.

”I was just discussing with our village captain, planning for two tractors to go to your village tomorrow, and here you are today.

You haven’t eaten yet, right? Sit down and rest, I’ll make something quick, and then you can take the tractor back with you.”

”Old Li, thanks so much. I’m exhausted these past three days.”

”I understand. How much wheat do you have left to harvest?”

”About two hundred acres, but with your tractors coming, there’s no need to cut it, just help me plant.”

”Alright, I’ll send Red Army to inform them shortly so they can go back with you.

By the way, after you finish the public grain delivery in twenty days, you can pick up the tractor. Xiao Wei has already spoken with them.”

”Okay, I’ll definitely be done by then.”

Wang Shulin sat down on the stool, reluctant to get up; he had been busy since 3 a.m. with no break.

Qu Xiaoli and Li Xue prepared pancakes for Wang Shulin, as they’re filling and tasty.

Jiushang and the others came over, each carrying simple luggage.

”You guys go drive the tractors back with Uncle Wang tonight.”

Wang Shulin devoured two pancakes, feeling uncomfortable in his stomach.

”Old Li, I can only pay after the public grain accounts are settled. Also, leave me some good wheat seeds this year.”

Li Yungui nodded, ”I can spare you about five hundred pounds.”

”Okay, then we’ll give you five hundred fifty pounds of wheat in exchange.”

”No need, just five hundred pounds is fine.”

”Bring the herbicides and sprayers along, and if you can’t manage, I’ll pay for the tractor.”

”It’s fine, I’ll give you five sprayers and five crates of herbicides.”

After seeing them off, Li Yungui lay on the kang with a sigh. ”I can’t imagine what we’d do if we didn’t have Xiao Wei to start with, we’d be worried now.”

”Yes, husband, the best decision you made was bringing Xiao Wei to our village.”

The remaining thirty acres of corn were planted in a day and a half.

Everything is done now. In the afternoon, let everyone rest for half a day.

The six educated youth finally felt it; the wheat harvest wasn’t really that exhausting.

Now they’re so tired they can’t even lift their legs, but at least it’s all done.

Li Yungui now had time. Looking at the stockpile of pesticides and corn winders in the warehouse, his heart ached again.

”Xiao Wei, when are we transporting this to the provincial capital?”

”As soon as Chaoyang returns.”

”Can he handle it alone? This time we should take two trucks together, right?”

”No problem. Don’t worry, I trust Chaoyang.”

Which father doesn’t like to hear others praise their child?

Li Yungui had seen that Wei Kaiyun truly took Chaoyang as an apprentice to train.

Therefore, his son’s latter half won’t be his worry, and he’ll outshine his other brothers.

”Let’s hurry production, and if not, send three trucks. Let Chaoyang wait for payment there before coming back. That’s my request.”

”Yes, it’s really hard to collect debts from others.

But is Chaoyang the only one who can go?”

”Then let’s let Guodong go with him.”

Li Yungui agreed; Guodong was his niece’s husband, so of course, he was happy for Wei Kaiyun to train him.

”Tomorrow night, more than ten people who want to study medicine will follow Doctor Liu for training.”

”Village Chief Li, have Doctor Liu and his wife stay at the infirmary.

This way, it’s convenient for learning medicine, and there are too many people for the chicken farm.”

”Alright, arrange it. Doctor Liu also wants to take them to the mountains to recognize and collect medicinal herbs.”

”That’s good, but Doctor Liu isn’t young, so take a few strong ones to help him.”

The two parted ways at the intersection, each heading home.

Wei Kaiyun went home to tell his children that Doctor Liu wanted to go to the mountains to collect herbs.

Feifei didn’t mind, but Shi Jing and Jianbin wanted to go.

”Alright, I’ll accompany you three.”

”Dad, let mom come too, then we can have a family day out on the mountain,” Shi Jing excitedly suggested.

”What about Shi Xian and Tingting?” Jianbin asked Shi Jing.

”Yes, what about those two.”

Wei Kaiyun laughed, ruffling his son’s hair. ”We can ask your mom when she gets back. Do you want to go learn about herbs or just play in the mountains?”

”Yeah, we’ve never had a family outing,”

Wei Kaiyun felt a bit sad after hearing that from his son. ”We’ll talk to your mom when she gets back. If not, let’s drive to the beach for a few days in summer.”

”Dad, really? I still remember when Master Shang and mom took us to see the sunrise, collect sea snails, and catch little crabs.”

”Sure, come summer, we’ll go to the beach together, all six of us along with Jianbin. Although it’s a bit far, but we’ll have time and enjoy a longer stay.”

Shi Jing was delighted, chattering to Jianbin about their experiences at the beach.

Wei Kaiyun thought they might go on a ten-day or half-month trip later. Keeping the kids at home all the time isn’t good. Thankfully, their kids were always sensible and never made special requests.
