Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

At that time, Andrea Greenwood and Olivia Summer were aggressive, calling the Seys Family and asking Ariel to relay that Jose Floyd and Andrea Greenwood were already engaged because Andrea was pregnant, and they cunningly asked when she would get engaged so they could send a congratulatory gift.

She knew that Andrea and Olivia’s underlying message back then was to urge her to get engaged quickly for fear that she and Jose Floyd would get tangled up again.

Anger ignited in her heart because of the child, Andrea, and Olivia, she truly gave up. Back then, Steven Cooper said he knew she couldn’t let go of the past, so he was willing to wait.

She once truly wanted to marry Steven Cooper, to spend a lifetime together. Even if Jose Floyd came rushing to stop the engagement banquet, bleeding profusely, extending his hand to her, she could heartlessly ignore him.

She was truly determined to forget.

But no matter how firm her resolve, when faced with Jose Floyd willing to trade his life for hers, it instantly crumbled.

Jose Floyd, oh, he was the one who had given her five years of limitless affection, so much warmth. Faced with him like that, all her defenses crumbled.

”Brother Cooper, the most immature thing I did was agree to an engagement with you. This emotional debt is what I owe Jose Floyd, but unintentionally, I involved you. I’m truly sorry.”

To this day, what she regrets the most is not trying to fall in love with Steven Cooper.

Once you give away your heart, you can never take it back, no matter how desperately you try to forget, you simply can’t.

Steven Cooper’s eyes turned dark, yet he still forced a smile, ”Nicole, so... shall we cancel the engagement?”

Actually, when he proposed the engagement to her, he anticipated today’s situation. He never had the charisma to make her look back; truly, he didn’t blame her at all.

The corners of Nicole’s mouth carried bitterness, and her voice was low and hoarse: ”I didn’t accept your wait, but I am waiting for someone else, spending a lifetime waiting for a promise that may never come, perhaps that’s karma. Brother Cooper, marrying you is easy, just one happy banquet, one marriage certificate and we’re a couple, but in the years to come, will you really keep waiting for me? That past, I think I can never forget it in this life... having you wait makes me feel guilty.”

But he was willing to wait—

Steven Cooper silently whispered to himself, a faint smile on his face, ”Then... cancel the engagement. This life is so long, I’m quite confident I can make other wonderful girls fall in love with me, but you—I might honestly not be destined to have.”

”It’s I who am not destined to have you.” Nicole held onto the soy milk, guilt surging in her heart, her lowered eyes sounding slightly hoarse.

Ultimately, she owed this excellent, gentle man.

”Cancel the engagement, you withdraw. After all, being dumped by the groom’s family impacts a girl’s reputation, especially for a family like the Seys, so many people are pointing and laughing at them. Publicly, just say you ended the engagement, the Cooper Family isn’t as prominent as the Seys, there aren’t as many envious eyes, such a little rumor I, a man, can endure.”

Steven Cooper spoke as if it were all easy, but a wave of sadness and heaviness rose inside him.

Looking at Nicole in front of him, her brows and eyes so picturesque, he sighed deeply within.

The only girl to ever stir his heart, yet unfortunately, she never felt the same about him.

Nicole looked deeply at Steven Cooper, tightening her grip on the soy milk cup, the guilt in her heart growing stronger.

The two discussed the matters following the breakup and agreed to remain lifelong friends. Breakfast was almost finished, and they both stood up.

”Brother Cooper, this was my mistake, the Seys Family can withstand storms, so let me bear the consequences. Your position is up for review and promotion at the end of the year, don’t let this affect your reputation.”
