Genshin x Minecraft: Building the Temple of Virtue

Not long ago, Ryen had been thinking — after coming to Teyvat, opening up the Minecraft world, and bringing everyone here, everything just seemed… too friendly.

Gone was the kind of scheming and trickery used online to fool newcomers.

He’d felt a little regret about that, but now — here comes a ”big-brained” one, walking right up to him.

If he didn’t take this chance to mess with him a bit… maybe praise him a lot… wouldn’t that be letting Tartaglia’s ”hard work” go to waste?

With that thought, Ryen once again looked at Tartaglia with an expression full of admiration.

”Your thinking really is sharp!”

Tartaglia lifted his head with a hint of pride, pretending to be humble.

”Mr. Ryen, you flatter me. I just have strong battle instincts, and this idea suddenly came to me.

If I’m not mistaken, obsidian arranged in a 4×5 frame can create a Nether Portal.

Then other blocks should work too, right? Diamonds? Emeralds? Lapis lazuli?

Since there’s a Nether, judging by this world’s style, there should also be a Heaven.

Obsidian sends you to the Nether, so diamonds should send you to Heaven, right?

A Nether Portal is lit with fire, so a Heaven Portal should be lit with water!

I’m right, aren’t I, Mr. Ryen?”

Tartaglia’s expression was that of a lonely master, as if an ancient sage had possessed him — the very embodiment of wisdom!

At this moment, Tartaglia’s brilliance had reached its historical peak.

In Ryen’s heart, he couldn’t help but praise him as having the makings of a crouching dragon.

Never before had he seen someone so determined to trick themselves.

This was a true powerhouse: as long as he believed in it, it had to exist.

For someone like this, who not only delivered himself to be fooled but even did all the setup himself, what else could Ryen do?

Nod, smile, and say ”Yes.”

Tartaglia pumped his fist in excitement.

”I knew it!”

Off to the side, Rosalyne was a little surprised.

It was hard to imagine Tartaglia figuring this out on his own — after all, this guy had always seemed kind of brainless.

But now that he was using his head… he was actually a little useful!

”Mr. Ryen, what’s in Heaven?”

Tartaglia pressed further.

Ryen answered casually,

”Heaven? It’s full of diamonds, and there are little angels. Angels are very powerful — formidable beings.

Aside from that… I can’t really remember.

Anyway, there are some dangers there, but the danger level isn’t as high as the Twilight Forest.”

Tartaglia felt reassured.

”So, it’s a dimension more suited for exploration and combat, right?”

Ryen pressed his lips together in a smile, not answering.

Tartaglia’s excitement grew.

”Mr. Ryen, can I go to Heaven tonight?”

The way that sounded… was a little odd.

But Ryen didn’t dwell on it.

Since Tartaglia had built up all the hype himself and was practically pushing himself toward the trick, how could Ryen not support such a grand gesture?

Putting on a slightly troubled expression, Ryen sighed:

”The Heaven portal seems to be more difficult to make. I can’t quite remember the exact process.”

Hearing this, Tartaglia nodded in mild disappointment.

Seeing that he looked ready to give up, Ryen’s heart gave a jolt. It wasn’t every day he met a ”big brain” who could brainwash himself like this. If he missed out on this crouching-dragon-type genius, who knew how long it would be until the next phoenix chick came along?

Ryen quickly changed his tone:

”But I do remember — the Heaven portal is indeed made with diamond and water.

It’s just that, besides that, there might be some special actions or requirements… I can’t recall exactly. If you’re willing to try, I can provide the diamond blocks.”

Tartaglia’s heart leapt with joy.

”Really?”

Ryen exhaled in relief, smiling warmly.

”Of course. Diamond blocks aren’t that rare. At the very least, your hardworking, research-driven attitude is worth praising!

Give it a try! If it doesn’t work, just dismantle it. No big loss of resources.”

Tartaglia now felt fully assured, a sense of mission and honor welling up inside him.

Even Ryen couldn’t remember how to open the Heaven portal — but if he, Tartaglia, managed to do it…

From that day on, everyone who entered Heaven would have to remember his contribution and his wisdom!

He, Tartaglia… was not just a brute!

Patting his chest with pride, Tartaglia declared:

”No problem! Leave it to me! I’ll stay here tonight and research exactly how to open the Heaven portal!”

Ryen quietly let out a sigh of relief and chuckled.

”There are plenty of diamonds in the chest just to the left when you enter the villa. You can use those.”

”Got it!”

Tartaglia nodded, then quickly said,

”Mr. Ryen, I’ll go try right away!”

”Go on, go on.”

Ryen beamed as he watched Tartaglia leave, only relaxing once his figure had disappeared from sight.

Off to the side, Hu Tao, who had been watching Ryen the whole time, blinked.

”Ryen, you’re so bad…”

”What?”

Jean looked puzzled and pointed in the direction Tartaglia had gone.

”Wait… the Heaven portal… is fake?”

”No! The Heaven portal is real.”

Hu Tao shook her head with a mischievous grin.

”But back when we first built the Nether portal, I asked Ryen — since there’s a Nether, there must be a Heaven.

And actually, there is a Heaven, and yes, a portal made with diamonds is correct.

It’s just… Heaven is part of a mod. And right now, that mod isn’t loaded, so how could a Heaven portal possibly work?”
