I, the Destined Villain, Start by Controlling the Saint

Fake scammers and real scammersXiao Fan was immersed in his own world, completely oblivious to his surroundings, though he was only pretending.

He had long known that Li Yuxian had come over and was still watching him from outside.

But he had to pretend.

Scholars love to show off; this is called a scholar’s spirit.

Li Yuxian was originally a Confucian cultivator, and as soon as she heard someone reciting poetry, it immediately caught her attention.

She stopped to observe, and Xiao Fan’s voice entered her ears.

”In the Peach Blossom Dock, there’s a Peach Blossom Hermitage...”

”Again plucking peach blossoms for wine money...”

She murmured to herself, her eyes gleaming with light.

Her vigilance remained, but her curiosity grew stronger. She guessed it might be a trap, yet she still walked over without hesitation.

Xiao Fan was ”startled” by her, put down the poem in his hand, and looked out through the window, only to see a graceful and slender perfect jade figure, stepping lightly, entering his courtyard.

He did not show surprise but smiled at her and walked out.

”Presumably, Fellow Daoist, you’ve come to my sleeping quarters to trouble me, haven’t you?” He pretended not to know that these two were twins.

Li Yuxian was also taken aback. She had expected him to tell some lie to deceive her, but she didn’t expect him to speak so directly.

Xiao Fan also knew that lies would be exposed.

But weaving lies with truth would leave no flaws.

Nine truths and one lie, that is the highest Realm of lying.

Xiao Fan concocted lies using the truth!

Recalling Li Yutong’s experience, she instantly understood what was happening.

”He mistook me for Yutong.”

However, Li Yuxian did not explain, only saying, ”You’ve trapped me here; what is your intention?”

Xiao Fan feigned understanding and said, ”It seems this Fellow Daoist is the one who broke into my sleeping quarters.”

He first assigned Li Yuxian an identity.

”Fellow Daoist, I bear you no ill will. It’s just that you carry my clan’s supreme treasure. As long as you hand it over, we will leave immediately and will certainly not cause you any more trouble.” Li Yuxian adopted Li Yutong’s identity.

Although she had joined a Confucian Sect, she was still essentially a Witch Clan member. To protect her sister’s position as a goddess, she was willing to put in the effort.

”Of course, I don’t like killing. At that time, taking a life was out of necessity. Compared to fighting and killing, I prefer to sit here and read, cultivating my mind and body.”

Hearing words like reading and cultivating one’s mind, Li Yuxian felt Xiao Fan was quite pleasing to the eye. ’You truly have taste.’

Xiao Fan tossed the Wu God Sword to Li Yuxian and continued, ”That person challenged me that day, and I accidentally killed him. This is what he dropped. I’m returning it to you.”

Saying that, he threw out the Wu God Sword, like discarding trash, without a trace of hesitation.

Li Yuxian was greatly surprised after seeing the sword clearly.

This was the Wu God Sword, the Wu God’s Lifebound Treasure!

She was well-read and naturally recognized this item, especially the aura on it that made all witches submit, which further proved its authenticity. It was definitely the real thing.

”Even if you don’t recognize this item, you should understand that it’s a supreme treasure, right?”

”I don’t like fighting and killing. A sword is of no great use to me. If it can bring me peace, that is its greatest use.”

After speaking, Xiao Fan opened an exit directly to his Immortal Cave.

”I’ve returned your item. Go out. Don’t disturb me again.”

Saying that, he no longer paid attention to her, engrossed in reciting his own poems.

Li Yuxian clearly felt that this person had no intention of going back on his word, and the passage was real. She just needed to go out.

What exactly did he want to do?

Xiao Fan was shrewd. Giving her so much without any restrictions, was he really trusting her?

No, because her sister was still in the tower, and with her love for her sister, she would never leave alone.

Manipulation!

Before she could figure it out, Xiao Fan added fuel to the fire. He ”immersed” himself in his own world, reciting poetry on the surface, but in reality, he was interrupting Li Yuxian’s thoughts.

”Chang’an’s grand avenue connects narrow alleys, with green oxen and white horses pulling fragrant carriages. Jade chariots crisscross past noble residences, and golden whips continuously point towards marquises’ homes.”

...

”May I ask the one playing the flute towards purple mist, who once learned to dance through youthful years, if they achieve a union like flatfish, why fear death, wishing to be mandarin ducks, not envying immortals.”

...

Li Yuxian was still hesitating, but she found her attention completely drawn in, and she hadn’t considered leaving at all.

”Wishing to be mandarin ducks, not envying immortals...” The light in her eyes grew brighter, as if she had found a kindred spirit.

After he finished reciting, she asked curiously, ”Are you a Confucian cultivator?”

Her eyes were full of anticipation.

Xiao Fan looked at her disdainfully: ”I only cultivate the heart. Don’t confine me with these classifications and rules.”

”So-called Confucian cultivators are merely pedantic scholars. My cultivation is shallow, and my insights are limited; I dare not presume to be one.”

At the same time, he glanced at Li Yuxian with disdain.

”You are quite rude. I returned your sword and gave you a chance to leave, yet you won’t go. Must you disturb me?”

Li Yuxian was stunned at his words, as if he had a point.

He didn’t make things difficult for me, returned my sword, and sent me away. It seems I am being a bit excessive.

She quickly said, ”I apologize. I was just excited to see Fellow Daoist’s brilliant literary talent. To be honest, I am a Confucian cultivator.”

”But few people can communicate with me. It’s rare to meet a kindred spirit, so I lost my composure a bit. Please don’t take offense.”

She said with a smile, apologetically.

Xiao Fan looked at her coldly, seemingly displeased that she had disturbed his peace.

He said, ”This is a pagoda I found. It only opens once every three days. The exit has already closed. If you want to leave, wait three days.”

Saying that, he walked back into the room and closed the door.

He completely ignored her.

Playing hard to get!

Li Yuxian certainly wouldn’t leave. Her sister was still in the tower, and besides, it was rare to encounter such a cultured person. She had to communicate and learn from him.

She didn’t leave either; she set up a small courtyard outside the door.

She sat outside, listening to Xiao Fan recite poetry.

Over the course of three days, she couldn’t remember how many poems Xiao Fan had written. All sorts of emotions were contained within them.

Classic unfulfilled ambitions, classic inability to serve the country, classic homesickness, classic longing between lovers—all were present.

Why would he have such rich emotional experiences? Li Yuxian was incredibly curious.

Curiosity was right; curiosity represented the beginning of falling.

Three days passed in a flash.

Xiao Fan ignored her. As soon as the time was up, he immediately opened the passage:

”Please leave.”

Then he went back.

Continuing to immerse himself in his own world.

Li Yuxian didn’t leave. She loved the poems he recited too much and was very curious if he had written them himself. Her curiosity grew stronger and stronger.

Three days and three days, three days and three days.

The days passed one by one.

On the other side, Li Yutong was getting beaten.

A continuous stream of Five Elements Vicious Beasts was depleting her stamina.

She also called for help to her sister through the Yin and Yang Fish.

Li Yuxian also received the call for help, but she didn’t go, because this kind of thing happened too often.

Li Yutong used to do this often.

She just wanted to trick her into coming over, saying she missed her, and then the sisters would hug.

Hmph, I won’t be fooled by you. Don’t disturb me!

Thinking this, she cut off the connection with the Yin and Yang Fish, preventing Li Yutong from calling for help.

Finally, half a month later, Xiao Fan said angrily, ”You are pushing your luck! I’ve already returned your sword and let you leave. Why are you still staying here and not leaving?”

Li Yuxian maintained her dignified demeanor, only smiling and saying, ”Sir, I truly admire your talent.”

”However, I have some questions for you. I wonder if Sir would be willing to answer?”

Before, she called him Young Master; now, she called him Sir.

Xiao Fan heard it, remained outwardly unmoved, but inwardly, he was overjoyed.

Hmm, it’s working.

”Will you leave after I answer?” Xiao Fan questioned.

”Of course.”

”Alright, speak.”

Li Yuxian asked all her questions.

Xiao Fan responded coldly, his tone indifferent, but his answers were very detailed.

Especially when she asked why he could write so many different emotions—homesickness, inability to serve the country, unfulfilled ambitions.

Of course, I wrote them myself! He answered shamelessly.

”Heh heh, I sealed my magic power and experienced the life of a Mortal, crawling and stumbling for a thousand years in the Mortal world. I’ve been an emperor, a civil and military official, and also a street beggar and an ordinary commoner.”

”For true artistic creation, if you don’t personally experience it, how can you write good things?”

Personal experience!

These few words made Li Yuxian feel enlightened. She used to boast about being well-read, but now it seemed she was just a frog in a well, stuck in her old ways.

”Personal experience, Sir, your words are very true.” She replied respectfully, like a diligent Disciple.

Soon, the passage closed.

Xiao Fan sighed, ”The exit has closed again. Are you leaving or not?”

Li Yuxian felt a bit ashamed.

She had never intended to leave; she had only been deceiving Xiao Fan earlier to get him to answer her questions.

Yes, she felt guilty.

Xiao Fan also knew she felt guilty; he deliberately played into it.

A true deceiver meeting a false deceiver, things began to get complicated.
