NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

Kane’s next swing struck harder.

Wood chips flew.

He tried to push the image away and failed.

In his mind, the red gown was gone.

He saw her the way she had offered herself, standing close, hips tilted, the mature curve of waist and hip, the full swell of breasts that had never needed the firmness of youth to command attention.

He imagined the silver-threaded hair falling loose around her shoulders as she arched, the assessing eyes half-lidded with hunger rather than calculation.

The same mouth that had spoken of loyalty and power opening for him instead.

His cock stirred treacherously at the memory of her earlier touch.

Kane gritted his teeth and drove the axe into the post again, the impact jarring up his arms.

”Hold it back,” he muttered under his breath.

The words were for himself alone.

He shifted stance and began a series of faster cuts, the blade whistling.

Sweat rose on his skin.

The physical strain helped, but the imagination refused to stay quiet.

He saw Slovia on her knees the way she had suggested, those breasts framed by her own hands as she looked up at him.

Kane saw her bent over the wide desk in her study, the hair spilling across the wood, the mature body open and waiting.

He remembered the scent of her, ink, old paper, and the warmer note of a woman who had decided she wanted something and was prepared to take it.

Kane’s breathing roughened.

He forced the next series of strikes to be precise rather than savage.

Each impact was a refusal. He would not let the hunger dictate the terms. Misha’s words echoed instead:

Plan properly. Take your time. If she really pushes it, then do it. And come back to me.

He would go to her tonight.

That much was decided.

But he would not go as a man already half-lost to the memory of her body.

He would go as her daughter’s husband, the barbarian who had kept the girl alive, the man who needed the queen’s help and strength if the two empires were ever to stand together.

The axe rose and fell.

Wood split. Kane’s arms burned.

He worked until the sun stood higher and the sweat ran freely down his back.

Only then did he stop, resting the heavy head of the axe against the packed earth.

In the quiet that followed, the images returned, more controlled now, shaped into strategy rather than pure hunger.

Kane would let Slovia believe the night belonged to her. He would let her press close, let her hands wander, let her test the limits of his restraint the way she had in the study.

He would imagine, in those moments, the full weight of her breasts in his hands, the give of mature flesh, the way her body would open if he allowed it.

He would feel the pull of it. And he would measure every response, every flicker of true desire against the larger need.

Loyalty. Power. The uniting of empires.

If she pushed hard enough, if the price of her open support was the use of her body, then he would take what was offered.

Carefully.

On his terms.

And he would return to Misha with the proof of that choice still on his skin, the same way he had returned from the study smelling of the queen and still chosen his wife first.

Kane wiped the blade clean on a cloth, shouldered the axe, and left the yard.

The evening light in the keep had turned the high windows the color of old bronze.

Kane found Seraphine in the smaller secondary yard where the stone walls kept the wind off, and the packed earth still held the day’s warmth.

She was working through a series of measured forms with a blade, silver hair bound back in a long warrior’s braid that swung with every turn of her shoulders.

The braid reached the middle of her back: loose strands at her temples caught the last light like pale metal.

Kane leaned against a pillar and waited until she finished the sequence. When the final cut settled into stillness, she lowered the blade and looked at him.

”Report,” he said.

Seraphine wiped the practice sword clean with a cloth and set it aside.

”The beastmen talks are stalled. Their envoys still refuse to commit to anything beyond the temporary truce along the river. They want proof we can hold the southern approaches before they risk open alliance. Thora’s last message confirmed the same. No movement.”

Kane nodded once.

”And the internal fractures?”

”Still there. The tiger clans are the most willing to listen. The bears least. The rest sit in the middle and wait to see who bleeds first.”

A soft pad of footsteps approached from the shadowed archway. Kessa entered without announcement, the way she always did.

Long orange hair fell past her shoulders in thick waves, the color of autumn fire, marked here and there with darker stripes that echoed the pattern along her arms and the sides of her neck.

The tiger-woman’s eyes found Kane first, then Seraphine. She carried no weapon, only the coiled readiness that never left her.

”You’re talking about my people,” Kessa said. Her voice was low, roughened by the accent of the eastern wilds.

”We are,” Kane answered. ”Your place. The current state of it.”

Kessa came farther into the yard and stopped a few paces away, arms loosely crossed.

”The leader who matters right now is not one of mine. He’s a bear-man. Calls himself Grathak Blood-Hide. Terrifying enough name, and he earned it. He rules the warrior packs that control the high passes and the northern fords. The other clans listen when he growls because the ones who didn’t are bones under the snow.”

Seraphine’s expression did not change, but her posture sharpened.

”And reason?”

”Impossible,” Kessa said flatly.

”He hates every race equally. Humans, elves, other beastfolk who won’t bend the knee- doesn’t matter. He sees outsiders as meat that learned to walk upright. You can offer him gold, land, blood oaths. He’ll take the gifts and still look for the moment to put an axe in your spine. Talking sense to Grathak is like asking a winter storm to change direction.”

Kane absorbed the information in silence for a moment.

The name settled into the larger map he carried in his head.

”Once we finish business here, we go there.”

Seraphine’s silver braid shifted as she turned fully toward him.

”Kane, I wouldn’t suggest that.”

”We don’t have a choice.” He met her eyes. ”How’s the training?”

Seraphine held his gaze.

”I know Milfheim warriors. They’re formidable enough.”
